  • David Bowie doesn't exist. It's just your dad in a David Bowie costume,

Because if he didn't, he'd be called Ewar Woowar.

R.I.P. :(

Oddly enough, I expected some kind of "How much wood would Edward Woodward...etc." tongue twister out of this.

Classic "joke". Beautiful.

I was strangely saddened by his death despite the fact that has career has never really impacted personally on my life's enjoyment. (No, I've never watched the Wicker Man but my dad has always said it was pretty good...)

My Dad always used to tell me that joke, since before I can remember. I don't think at any point I thought to say "Dad, I'm six, how do you expect me to know who Edward Woodward is?".

In related news;
"Who would want to star in my play?"
"Edward Woodward would."

Strangely I ended up watching Hot Fuzz last night which had an elderly Edward Woodward in it. Touching. :crying:

Probably best known in the U.S. for the tv series The Equalizer.

R.I.P.

(I have seen him in Breaker Morant, but have never seen The Wicker Man)

My exact response, word for word, on seeing this thread title.
