  1. I think the last thing I posted in an NHL thread on here was despairing about the Leafs. Glad to see so much has changed.
  2. You've heard a reasoned opinion on the matter. And now, for the correct response: YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
  3. I'll take a sign reading "plubby" and Tiger Uppercut the first person to react.
  4. For the past few weeks, when I've tried to re-download the game, it keeps coming up with the error message saying the Steam servers are too busy right now. Is there a fix for it?
  5. Forgive the length of this, but it's part something I want off my chest and part something I could use opinions on. I've just starting roleplaying. The game I'm playing is Unknown Armies (take a look, because it's a fascinating setting) and it's also the first time the GM has run any games. For a first-timer, he's doing very well for it, and I don't want to sound like I'm criticising him, but...for the last two, three, maybe four sessions, my character has been more or less a total non-entity. Where everybody else has had interesting plot points, done a lot to progress the plot or just been generally amusing, you could have lifted my character out of the game entirely and you'd barely have noticed the difference. I don't know where the blame lies. Part of it is probably the character himself, who I'm deliberately playing as an awkward and distrustful person, but just as much of it is down to me being new at roleplaying and so not really knowing the right questions to ask or the right things to do to move the plot and a third part has to be on the GM. I really don't want this to come across as me saying "all these things are happening and they're not about me, BORED NOW", but where other people have been given a LOT to work with, I've ended up sitting around, trying desperately to fit myself in. Like I said to one of the other players yesterday, while the roleplaying aspect amuses me and is enjoyable, it's all starting to feel a bit disappointing. Unknown Armies also has a mechanic for awarding experience points. Each player gets a certain amount at the end of each session, but the GM has free reign to give them out to anybody he thinks has done anything particularly amusing or cool throughout the game and then, at the end of each session, each player gives a point to whichever character they've enjoyed most that session. I haven't been given any GM experience for four sessions and haven't had any votes for three (and the one vote I did get was unmistakably a pity vote). When you've been really trying to make the character interesting and get no reaction whatsoever, it's shite. So...are these fair concerns to be having? And how do I go about expressing them?
  6. On the one hand, it has to be a form of bias. Just as "clutchiness" is a ridiculous excuse of a quality to give a player, Romo is good to very good the vast majority of the time and we just remember his fuckups because he's unlucky enough to have them come at particularly inopportune moments. On the other hand, fuck Romo.
  7. But don't. Trust me, r/cardsagainsthumanity is full of it and while it's sometimes fun to see cards from other sets and the wonderful synergy, mostly it's just not.
  8. And relatedly, given that I know a ton of board gamers, I'm curious about getting one or two of you and seeing how people react to it. Are you still actively selling them and what have you got?
  9. Reading the description, I do like the sound of it.
  10. Recommendation - Cook, Serve, Delicious. If you've ever played any of the Papa's Pizzeria/Burgeria/... games on Kongregate and the like you know sort of what to expect, but this is that on horse steroids. The description of it as a hardcore restaurant simulator is devastatingly accurate because it's the closest I've ever seen a game come to emulating Anthony Bourdain's "Day in the Life" account he wrote in his first book. It's genuinely fucking frustrating getting part of somebody's salad wrong because you were frantically working out how long you could put off cleaning the dishes and judging when to start the pasta because it's rush hour and oh god somebody's inviting you to like a picture can't they see I've got customers aaaaaaaaargh...but frustrating in the best sort of way.
  11. As an early birthday present, prospective other half only went and got me a Leafs jersey. A Phil Kessel Leafs jersey. A Phil Kessel WINTER CLASSIC Leafs jersey. Even though she's a dirty Red Wing. I have to marry her now, don't I?
  12. Fucking hell alive, that trade has just undone a huge amount of the goodwill I had for Nonis and co. We trade one of the team's few genuine bright spots for a player who tops out as a lateral move and actually give up extra for the privilege. Has somebody in the organisation been a Blues sleeper agent all this time?
