AMC's "The Walking Dead"

There's no way they can follow it faithfully, yeah. Anyone who expects that is setting themselves up for disappointment. What they can do is follow it as closely as they're able and still make a damn good series with what they have available. Also, on the topic of characters, I'm with GoGo on this one. Michonne is a fantastic character who's been developed nicely over the series, but she's really no different from the others that have been developed in terms of believability. Andrea is awesome though. Her development has been some of the best by far.

Though I do wonder...

If theydon't include the Governor, how the hell are they going to handle Lori and Judith dying? That was easily one of the most emotional moments in the whole series, especially with how Rick and Carl were forced to just keep running despite watching it happen. It was difficult enough to read, I can't help but wonder how the hell they'd get around the censors on making it onto TV.

For posterity's sake, it should be noted that AMC has allowed shit like explicit rape scenes (not graphic, mind you, but very very clear about what it was) on their other shows, so probably The Walking Dead will be allowed to get away with a lot. Still, The Governor kind of crosses the line twice (as does that one prison inmate).

AMC has told them to do whatever they want, so long as they don't include explicit nudity or drop the f-bomb, so I don't see what the problem would be. The governor and his daughter would probably be toned down,

Walking Dead book spoilers:

my guess? They'd drop the zombie incest stuff and just make him a really creepy, loving father

which would maybe even add a bit of humanity to the character, which makes him even MORE horrifying. Still, AMC's no stranger to pushing the envelope, they've shown spousal rape, melting a corpse with acid, people dying by choking on their own vomit, people fucking dirty hookers, etc.

Also, by the time they get to that point, the show could be dramatically different from the books, so The Governor could be a drastically different character. And stuff like:

MAJOR WALKING DEAD BOOK SPOILERS. MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILERS:

Lori dying

Might not even happen.

(had to put the third one into a new posting because the board only alows two vids per)

Am I right in thinking they said they're not including The Governor? That'd be a damn shame.

I think the problem with the Governor is more that he is by far the most comicbook like character the Comic had. A lot is trying to draw real persons and how they would act in a real Zombie outbreak... and he was just over the top a lot in more than just one way.

I liked the arc as a comic, but i think on TV it needs to be a bit more down to earth, i be we will not see other stuff related to that arc asswell

Like the Zombie Arena fights n such. On Tv, thats not character drama, thats Mad Max.

The hunters arc was importand charcter dev. becaus

our good group started turning evil, doing more than just the revenge kill. - This had it´s efect on the past few issues in wich rick planed a maybe takeover of the comunety and i bet it will come back wen shit hits the fan in one of the next issues. - Rick actualy started becomming a Governor, this aint over yet just because he cried and had a talk.

The Walking Dead has in fact no already been renewed for a second season. Frank Darabont dispelled those rumors the same day it leaked out. For now it is all rumors he says.

Writer-director Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption,” “The Green Mile,” “The Mist”) says the rumor of an early 13-episode second season order for his AMC zombie series “The Walking Dead” is only a rumor.

The filmmaker seems particularly startled at the idea that season two would start production only a month or two after he completes season one.

“Shooting in February? As tired as I am right now getting season one through post, I'd rather shoot myself,” Darabont tells Ain't It Cool.

The six-episode first season of “Walking Dead” launches Halloween night on AMC.

720p HD in a one gb download is neither shitty nor big. With a propper cable you can even watch it on your T to the V. We are living in the times of flatrate high bandwith internet... whatcha gonna sabotage? Your porn streaming during the time of download? :P

FXUK states (in gigantic letters right on the top of their website) that the show airs on 5.11.2010. Germanys Fox chanel gets it on the 5th aswell. I bet some genius at AMC feels that it´s much better to let everyone wait a week wen they launch the show globaly.
