Great song. JT basically started off the trend of pop music merging hip-hop, R&B and EDM with FutureSex/LoveSounds. Now that sound is WAY overplayed and almost a parody at this point. So what does JT do? Releases one of the freshest, infectious and fun sounding singles in years. If JT wants to usher in a new era where everything isn't produced by Calvin Harris, David Guetta and will.i.am, I am definitely on board.

It's incredibly fresh, that's for sure. I think it'll take a few listens for me to get used to, just like SexyBack did...but I am unequivocally pumped that JT's back

I am really looking forward to a lot of things in 2013; several new Devin Townsend things, new Daft Punk, new Kvelertak, perhaps new Mew, new Suuns, man, there is so much to look forward to. Also, Death Grips are really hot at the moment so I can't wait to see what they do in 2013.

Pretty solid. The tempo is a bit more upbeat than most of the first album but it's definitely the same guy. I really can't wait for this to drop now, if only because I kind of forgot he was working on a follow-up.

New Tegan & Sara album leaked. I haven't given it a proper complete listen yet, but it seems like a bit of a mixed bag. I'm not enjoying it as thoroughly as I did So Jealous or The Con. Closer is a great song, though.

So yeah, according to Credric's twitter and various music news sites The Mars Volta are done... forever. Which kind of sucks. I wasn't a big fan of Noctourniquet but a lot of their other stuff was really cool (De-Loused In The Comatorium, "Cassandra Gemini", The Bedlam In Goliath, hell, I even liked a few tracks off of Octahedron). But I guess we'll have to do with Bosnian Rainbows and whatever Cedric himself ends up doing.

Well, that's a kick in the teeth, but considering how shit the At The Drive-In reuinion was and how plain sounding Nochtournaquet was after the newness wore off... I guess it's probably for the best :/ I just hope that this is a "on hiatus" move rather than "we're never going to work together again"

Hopefully this means more Omar Rodriguez-Lopez collaberations (the John Frusciante and Damo Suzuki collaberations were incredible) and more Omar Rodriguez-Lopez group/quartet stuff... but his regular solo stuff has been terrible lately. He really needs a break from music for a year or so to get a rest or something to get his inspiration back, but it's slowly starting to look like he's nothing without Ikey in the background and the heroin.

It sounds like Omar and Cedric aren't on the best of terms right now, so I'd say "indefinite hiatus" for right now. I mean, obviously you can never say never, since At The Drive-In reuniting last year was kind of a shock/WTF moment.

Cedric's done some stuff by himself, years ago, when they still had Gold Standard Labortories as their own label and released vinyl singles. It was worlds better than Omar's solo stuff, and I love his solo work. I think Cedric said he wants to work with Ikey and some others again. I smell a certain project that was dub based coming back very soon...

Or maybe THE FALL ON DEAF EARS!!!

Yea, I didn't like New Maps of Hell or Dissent of Man too much myself. True North though has been a great play through everytime I've listened to it though
