  1. Honestly the Eiyuden discourse on lower scores seems to come from Switch based resources who are criticizing its performance as a major dipper.
  2. I am sadly very much not wired this way, haha.
  3. Yeah, I was thinking it over last night and used the Wall Market section for a comparison point. In the original, you come into the area and it's like nothing you've seen before. That's still on point. But then it kind of goes off the rails from there - in the original, the plan was hatched to get Cloud into the Don's along with Aerith, and everything else you did in Wall Market was kind of leading up to that point - and how you did on various activities ended up meaning you'd get a certain piece of the outfit, so that was quite gameified and engaging. In Remake, you just did... stuff. And then arbitrarily (well, not really - there are clear points that get you different outfits but none of them are really in a story sense tied into any decisions you've made) the plan comes up that had been hatched entirely away from Cloud, there's a dance mini-game for some reason, and you're in. I'm still looking forward to Rebirth because there's so much of the rest of the game that I want to see fully realized - but instead of going straight to it like I was planning, it might be a case where I go onto something else and come back when there's a sale on Rebirth or something of that nature.
  4. I was hoping to be through Remake by now, and I've gotten further than I had before - I'm holding out for going to the Shinra building being something that exceeds expectations - but unless this second part is a SEVERE improvement on things I don't know if I'm going to make it a priority. I don't personally buy into the way that they do storytelling in Remake - I'm still feeling more padding than expanding. Some characters are better written than others and that's a for sure thing, and Cloud has always been a blank template for the most part - but giving him voice acting and doubling down on the absurdity just makes him lack any connection at all to the situations he's in for me. There feels like there have been a lot of scenes predicated on "we need to do a thing, and it's very important, let's cut-scene for 5 minutes about it instead of actively doing it" I think what I'm getting out of it is that I hold the initial Midgar section very near and dear because of how into FF7 I was when I got it on PC way back in the day, but the original pacing was WAY more in line with what it needed to be.
  5. It apparently runs pretty bad on the Switch which would've been my ideal place to play it, all things considered - but since it's on Gamepass anyways it's just a better choice to play it there anyways I suppose. Ultimately I think it'll end up being something I enjoy - I think RPGs in general for the most part have drifted away from what I liked about them in an attempt to find the next step in the process, and a good ol' throwback will be just the thing in the here and now. ...and push comes to shove the Suikoden I+II remasters are on the horizon too so, eh.
  6. So this kind of came out of left field for me, friend lent me a copy of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League... And I kind of fucking love it? It's fun as all hell to play in terms of the different ways you traverse the city, missions are bite sized and feel rewarding, and the writing in it is actually something that I'm quite enjoying. I know that some people said things along these lines, and that the limited amount of mission types kind of killed it a little bit for them - but I'm considering picking it up while it's on sale to keep playing because it's been a great time killer so far. Marking it down as another reason to stop listening to the masses (especially of gamers) on stuff like this.
  7. That was the 21st Anniversary edition which is the one up for download now, yeah.
  8. Neat! Fun to have more options. I'm highly enjoying TEW 2020 right now, and PWS just isn't hitting for me so this would be a hit of nostalgia.

    WWE 2K24

Apparently it's WWE Legends figures, which is a line exclusive to target. They're also selling the classic blue cage that I asked for a million times and never got growing up. Dangit.

The 40 Years of Wrestlemania pack is out today with the patch, and it's pretty good - they did go the extra distance and gave era approprirate themes (like the original 'This Is My Brutality' theme for 2020 Rhea) so a thumbs up on carrying over on that. Thumbs down on the news that the action figure Hogan is going to be exclusive to buying an action figure at Target and using the code in it which is hard for any country that isn't America since... you know, it's the only place with a Target. Also locking content behind another purchase but one can at least rest easy that it's Hulk Hogan.
  11. Am I off/wrong about something regarding the angles? When I look at what's included in both my default branch and the one for this it seems to be the same 453 or so items.
  12. Yeah the micro-transaction stuff is MASSIVELY overblown. Almost all of the bigger Capcom games have had this for years - it's basically paid for convience when it comes to a lot of stuff, there at a very minor cost for people who don't want to or can't put the time in for certain things, and even then - yeah, the stuff is very easily earned in game. You don't really need to have played the first game, naw - the concept of what an Arisen (the main character) is, is kind of retreaded here. It's not like the original game had a really ground breaking story either to be fair. It's mostly all just really nice set dressing for the sandbox playground that the game puts you in. Been having a great time on PS5 as well.
  13. ...you know what that stat seems wildly off too because looking at my hand of 7 Jokers I also had the card that thins your deck and gives you money every time you play just one card, so I feel like that should've been high car even. But somehow, this seems to be the case - yeah.
  14. I think I’ve peaked. I feel like I could have kept going as well, but I had a debuff to all face cards with The Plant and that was most of my deck at that point.
