Honestly, if someone out of that core five was going to go I'm glad it's Erlich, though I'm also not thrilled that he's gone. But then, after having really enjoyed most of this season I was annoyed at this week's because it basically took them back to "it's the starting premise but with a new version of Pied Piper" again, so maybe this is what it takes to radically shift the balance of things. Who knows.

The thing is, just because a player is in a shit team or whatever that doesn't automatically make them rubbish. Thomas was the stand-out player at Hartlepool despite their struggles, and Enda Stevens is a quality full back - probably the best in L2 this season and playing in a team that won the league.

On the question of who will fund them after season 5, my guess is that Bighead will somehow gain control of his money or something and fund them, because the writers love extracting humour from Bighead and making him the unlikely guy to succeed all the time. EDIT: Also, am I the only one that is watching the Handmaid's Tale? I get that it's hard to come by, but holy shit, this week's episode was bonkers!

I don't have time to put down some extended thoughts at the moment, but I'm really enjoying the new series of Twin Peaks. Like Fire Walk with Me, it's basically Lynch using the original soapy concept and making an 18-hour arthouse film with it. It's oddly relaxing too, I realise some may dislike the glacial pace of some scenes, but I love how the lingering shots are out of step with modern visual storytelling. Can't wait for episode 5.

This the biggest load of nonsense I've seen thrown around against it. They literally stop the game minutes at a time after every drive, PAT and sometimes just for shiggles. All so we can see the latest ad about beer and boner pills. Who care if the celebration delays the PAT? And besides, there's a play clock, if they delay too long then they're penalised. I definitely watched some of a fan edit designed to show what the season looks like with all the scenes in chronological order. I think it would be 100% in AD/Netflix's best interest to promote an official version with proper, professional editing a month or two before season 5 drops. I thought season 4 was really great, myself. There are some weaker episodes (George Sr. and Lindsay aren't characters who really work as the central focus), but I really admired the ambition of it and a lot of the choices they made, particularly in how they depicted Michael when he doesn't have the rest of the family around to make him look better by comparison and how they handled Maeby's.... well, uh, arrested development.

I have been playing this damn game since Season 1 and other than getting a Wrestlemania Brock Lesnar like a week before Season 2 started, I have never had a card from the top tier in the game.
