  1. I know, I must have watched that movie a hundred times when I was between the ages of 7 and 12 I seem to watch it every few months even now. That and Predator. I keep meaning to pull an Alien all nighter, but I've not yet had the funds and the time to order the amount of Pizza I'd need to feed myself through it. As much as it costs, an Alien marathon is a great night. BTW, Alien > Aliens.
  2. I just recently did a Top 250 movie list, but here is just the top 10. 1. Boondock Saints 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 4. Resivoir Dogs 5. Terminator 2: Judgement Day 6. Alien 7. The Big Lebowski 8. Cube 9. Oldboy 10. Starship Troopers
  3. Tim Armstrong was the original vocalist for them. He left them, however, almost right after their debut, so he still gets credit for writing for the above mentioned album; BUT, he was not the vocalist at the time of the recording of said album, so you will not hear him on the album.
  4. My nominations: "Always bet on black!" (Wesley Snipes; Passenger 57) "I'll be back." (Arnold Schwarzenegger; The Terminator) "This is my BOOMSTICK!" (Bruce Campbell; Army of Darkness) "I've had it, with these mother-fucking snakes, on this mother-fucking plane!" (Samuel Mother-Fucking Jackson; Snakes on a Plane) "Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker." (Bruce Willis; Die Hard)
  5. So me and a few friends had a heated discussion on what the single best movie one-liner was. No consensis was reached and, as a result, I'd like to created a sort of elimination stlye thread to find, once and for all, the best one liner of all time. So here's the format. Over the next week post a max of 5 one-liners (please also put the movie and actor delivering the line). After the week I'll post the 50 (maybe less depending on the number of one liners) in another thread. Each one-liner will recieve five points. As people vote you can add one point to three one-liners, and subtract one point from thee one-liners. Eventually, we will reach one single line.
  6. I recently purchased a couple of graphic novels (Watchmen and V For Vendetta). The long and short of it is that I enjoyed them and I am looking to acquire more. The Sin City series is next on my list, but after that I have no idea what to get. A couple of people have told me that "From Hell" and a Batman graphic novel (I can't remember the name, but I think its the one with The Joker on the cover holding a camera) are quite good. I am also interested in "300" and the "30 Days of Night" series, but as graphic novels are fairly expensive I wanted to know if they were worth it to buy. Also, if anyone knows of any others I'd like to know about them.
  7. 5. Goodfellas "And when the cops, when they assigned a whole army to stop Jimmy, what'd he do? He made 'em partners." 2006: 4 (-1) 4. American History X "I said: Put your mouth on the curb!" 2006: 11 (+5) 3. Fight Club "Fight Club was the beginning, now it's moved out of the basement, it's called Project Mayhem." 2006: 2 (-1) 2. The Departed "Church wants you on your place. Kneel, stand, kneel, stand. If you go for that sort of thing, I don't know what to do for you. A man makes his own way. No one gives it to you. You have to take it. "Non serviam."" 2006: Did Not Rank 1. Pulp Fiction "I'm prepared to scour the the Earth for that motherfucker. If Butch goes to Indochina, I want a nigger waiting in a bowl of rice ready to pop a cap in his ass." 2006: 1 (-)
  8. I've kept quiet about the selections so far, but I feel I should play Devil's Advocate on Superbad. Please keep in mind, I am, in no way, justifying its position on the list. "Superbad" has been heralded by many as this generations "Dazed and Confused". It's a story for todays youth, about todays youth. It deals with many of the issues faced by many of todays youth (although greatly exagerated). Insecurity, girls, college, drinking, peer acceptance, etc. While many people will dismiss "Superbad" as another one of those damn teen comedys, many accept it as everyday life for them and, as it is a comedy, it makes light of the very real situations faced by them.
  9. 10. Superbad "I am McLovin." 2006: Did Not Rank 9. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind "I'm just a fucked up girl looking for my own piece of mind, I'm not perfect." 2006: 12 (+3) 8. Reservoir Dogs "Torture you? That's a good idea. I like that." 2006: 3 (-5) 6. Shawshank Redemption "I believe in two things: discipline and the Bible. Here you'll receive both. Put your trust in the Lord; your ass belongs to me. Welcome to Shawshank." 2006: 7 (+1) 6. Battle Royale "So today's lesson is... you kill each other off 'til there's only one left. Nothing's against the rules." 2006: 13 (+7)
  10. 15. Shaun of the Dead "Who died and made you fucking king of the zombies?" 2006: 14 (-1) 14. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back "Luke, I am your father." 2006: 5 (-9) T12. Boondock Saints "And Shepherds we shall be For thee, my Lord, for thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti." 2006: 29 (+17) T12. Monty Python's Holy Grail "Look you stupid bastard. You've got no arms left." 2006: 9 (-3) 11. The Usual Suspects "You think you can catch Keyser Soze? You think a guy like that comes this close to getting caught, and sticks his head out? If he comes up for anything it'll be to get rid of me. After that... my guess is you'll never hear from him again." 2006: 15 (+4)
  11. Because I love you guys, here's another update. 20. V For Vendetta "Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot." 2006: Did Not Rank 18. American Beauty "I need a father who's a role model, not some horny geek-boy who's gonna spray his shorts whenever I bring a girlfriend home from school. What a lame-o. Someone really should just put him out of his misery." 2006: Did Not Rank 18. Sin City "This is blood for blood and by the gallon. These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choice left. And I'm ready for war." 2006: 8 (-10) 17. Clerks "I'm not even supposed to be here today!" 2006: 6 (-11) 16. Se7en "Become vengeance, David. Become wrath." 2006: Did Not Rank
  12. 25. The Godfather "I stood in the courtroom like a fool. And those two bastards, they smiled at me. Then I said to my wife, for justice, we must go to Don Corleone." 2006: 10 (-15) 24. Snatch "Did you understand a single word of what he just said?" 2006: Did Not Rank 23. Oldboy "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone." 2006: 33 (+10) 22. Batman Begins "They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me." 2006: Did Not Rank 21. Apocalypse Now "The horror... the horror..." 2006: Did Not Rank
  13. 30. The Green Mile "They usually call death row the Last Mile, but we called ours the Green Mile, because the floor was the color of faded limes. We had the electric chair then. Old Sparky, we called it. I've lived a lot of years, Ellie, but 1935 takes the prize. That was the year I had the worst urinary infection of my life. A Clockwork Orange "There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, and we sat in the Korova Milkbar trying to make up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening. The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence." 2006: 23 (-3)
  14. For the love of god, never listen to Shaq rap.

  19. VOTING IS NOW CLOSED. ALL POSTS AFTER THIS ONE WILL NOT BE COUNTED. The beginning of the list will appear soon.
  20. Any last minute votes need to be cast because voting ends in TWO HOURS!!!
  21. Death Cab for Cutie sucks something fierce. Seriously, they blow.
  22. No one's dealing with the Canadian metal so here's some: Bucket Truck - Kittie - Brackish Strapping Young Lad - Flybanger - Rumsfield - Blister Threat Signal -
  23. If you're doing that then trilogies should be counted as one, and stuff like Kill Bill. Personally, I think making them one collective vote pisses on the others that genuinely DO belong together if you did that.
  24. OK, just for clarification, I am counting Deathproof and Planet Terror as one movie, because (in North America at least) it was released as a single movie.
