I just hope F*cko and the Ravens don't torpedo the match up ~If Naiwf is right and we get San Fran/Seattle int he NFC Championship Game I will be happy too, I just don't think Seattle will make it past the first week.
  2. Lovie Smith's pink slip was harsh but also predictable. When a NFL team collaspes (no matter the cause) heads roll. Lovie Smith did have a pretty good run in Chicago, anyone who makes the statement that he isn't a very good coach is simply clueless. If Jay Cutler doesn't get knocked out and forced to miss two or three games, we may be talking about a different story. However with that said, his time was just about up and I think the writing was on the wall that a change was needed in Chicago. NFL coaches usually can only stay in one spot for so long before their act gets stale. I fully expect Chicago to bring in someone (possibly San Fran's offensive or defensive CO) and be a solid contender next year.
  3. Tennessee to Hire Butch Jones as the Vols' Next Head Coach ...Tennessee nabbed themselves a good coach, I think. Who knows if that will transition into SEC success since they are looking up right now at Georgia and Florida by a mile, South Carolina by almost as much too. However Tennessee fans should be happy with the hire (though I wonder if they will dump on this hire since they unrealisticly thought John Gruden was headed to Rocky Top). Actually, I believe that all of the SEC Football Coaching Hires did well. I think all four schools (Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky) upgraded at the coaching position. ...Now if we can only somehow talk my Longhorns into stop giving Mack Brown GOD DAMN raises and replace him.
  4. 9-3 LA Tech Turns Down Bowl Bid to Indepence Bowl Glad I'm not a La Tech fan. I wouldn't get to see my 9-3 team play in a bowl game
  5. Wouldn't offering part ownership in the Cleveland Browns be a detractor? In all seriousness, I feel bad for college football fans of mid-level programs (which is exactly what Tennessee is at this point, I'm sorry Tennessee/SEC marks). The complete off the wall supposed "news reports" that a fan base has to endure is crazy. John Gruden going to Tennessee... Les Miles going to Arkansas... Jimbo Fischer to Auburn... What's next? Are we going to get a report from ESPN that Chip Kelly is going to leave Oregon and take the Cal job?
  6. Alex Smith was just ruled out for MNF.... Which completely blind sides San Fran (from everything i have read) because all week Alex Smith has been getting most of the reps at pratice with the first team. So Colin Kaepernick is being sent out there with barely any in real game experience, with minnium work with the first team offense even in pratice, making his first very start of his career, against argueably one of the best defenses in all of the NFL. Can you say leading the lamb to slaughter?
  7. REALLY? How did that just happen? US sneaks in a tie against Russia
  8. Eh... the game looks great and all. I just am not that excited about it. I like Elder Scrolls because it plays like a MMORPG w/o the online aspect. Personally I wish they would just continue the franchise with games every year or two.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised IF a team like the Jags move to LA, they would keep the divisions in tact. When re-allignment happend there were multiple examples of teams all over the place. I think the NFC WEST was one example which had a team in Carolina, Altanta, New Orleans and Kansas City St Louis. There were other examples as well, so I do not think the NFL would shuffle up the divisions again. Edit: Accidently put Kansas City, instead of Saint Louis.
  10. Houston still hasn't ever improved their offensive line. Yeah, they signed Schaub. Yeah they signed Andre Johnson to a huge deal. But they still haven't addressed the offensive line. I don't believe things would have ever changed. Matt Schaub =David Carr 2.0
  11. Yeah. He should be a good role model......ya know, like your Quarterback Chase. (Y)
  12. I actually like ESPN's set up this year. John Gruden is talking most of the time....which is a MAJOR POSITIVE since it means that we aren't subjected to McShay/Kiper bickering about "value".
  13. It took nine-teen picks..... but Prince Amukamara finally got cheered. Course, he went to New York.
  14. Its never good for a coach, when you are on the hot seat and your GM drafts a rookie quarterback. If I were Jack Del Rio, I could start a membership to MONSTER.COM and get my resume ready. BTW, as Niner's fan I am LOVING their pick. Locker to Titans is also a GREAT fit for him.
  15. Baseball did it with the Expos and the Rangers.....so, yeah they probably would I think. As for the Mets, baseball (MLB/BudSelig) seems to be trying to keep the Wilpons in charge of the Mets. They have issued them two loans so far right? It appears from afar that the parties in charge wants to keep the Mets ownership together if at all possible. With MLB blocking the Fox/Dodger's deal.....it seemed to be the opposite with LaLa franchise. Baseball seemed to want the McCords out, (that is the Dodger Ownership correct?) and blocked any attempt to help them out financially. That's just my opinion anyways.

  17. Its been a couple of years for sure. I would say all the way back to their second World Series run. And for me, I think Beckett's success is CRITICAL for Boston long term...meaning post season. He is the one pitcher they have, that when he is on is an intimating pitcher. The quality of their pitchers are top notch, 1-5. No doubt about it. But in my opinion, he is the one guy in that rotation that when he is on...no one wants to face. It was nice to see him have a good showing tonight.
  18. I may be in the minority here, but I am disappointed in the result of the result of the day. Don't get me wrong, the back nine was amazing to watch as a non-avid golf fan, and i enjoyed every moment of it. I think at one point, what.....six/seven people were tied for the lead with two or three holes to go. However I have a feeling that I will totally forget about this day in a matter of weeks because of who won. For me, and I am assuming it is that way for a lot of people..... I will struggle to remember this day because of that fact that the winner will more then likely go on to do nothing of major significance. And that is sad considering just how great the day was, if someone of notable success (even outside of Mr Woods such as Adam Scott, KJ Choi, McElroy even) would have won the event, I believe this one have been one of those Masters that you remember for a long time. Instead, I'm afraid it is going to be nothing more then a footnote and the fun day of events in the back nine will be forgotten.
  19. Damn Greg Norman would call this back back nine by McElroy a choke job...... I'm thinking Adam Scott may win this whenever everything is finished
  20. Maybe someone who follows the Lakers closer then me would be a better judge on the subject.....but I could also see Bibby being a good fit for the Lakers since they have struggled with the point at certain times during the season. But yeah, the Heat were the first team I thought about when I saw that he was released.
  21. WHY? Maybe because Palmer is younger, is coming off a better season, and ya know.... hasn't gotten to the point of his career where he gets benched for Rex Grossman?!?! Don't get me wrong, Palmer not a real option, nor is McNabb a bad choice. Especially considering the Niners are looking at another season with Alex Smith or a rookie QB. However as I said, Carson Palmer is not an option. The Bengals are going to call his bluff and make him retire before they trade him. They didn't cave for Chad Johnson, why would they cave in with Palmer?
  22. If by "sort out the situation", you mean they bring back Alex Smith then you are in luck... .... ha ha, actually as a NIner's fan as well, I would love to see McNabb come to the Bay area. I know he isn't the QB he was back in his prime, but he could play a Big Ben type of role where they lean on their running game and defense, while needing him to make only a few big/important plays a game. But meh.....who knows with the CBA what they will/can do. Speaking of San Fran..... it looks like their new stadium in Santa Clare may be on the verge of falling through. Link If this happens, and no new stadium deal can be reach.....I just wonder how long it will be before the Niners join in the "speculation rush" to be the team that ends up in LA, along with San Diego.
  23. Exactly. The Clippers problem isn't that LA isn't big enough for two teams. The Clippers problem is they have had the worst GM/owner combo in the league for nearly two decades.
  24. Is the spoiler ban on the Superbowl in effect still? Or can we tell the people of Cleveland that the Browns didn't win the Superbowl....
