  1. Didn't Texas do the same thing with the A-Rod contract? Didn't they still pay like HALF of A-Rod's salary after he was with the Yankees until he opt'ed out of his new deal a few years ago?
  2. Oh, I thought he announced his retirement. My mistake.
  3. AFC South Colts..... The retirement of Bob Sanders is really the only major concern for this team. The only other concern I have with this team is the offensive line, which has taken a few losses over the last few years. And as Tom Brady can attest too from a few years ago, eventually if you start losing linemen....all it takes is one clean hit to miss an entire season. Titans..... After the switch from Collins to Young last year, this team seemed to gel nicely. Without question, it is because the team was forced to go back to focusing on the ground and defense, but still remains that Vince Young has taken his team to the playoffs two of the three years he has been a starter, and probably would have made the playoffs last year if it didn't take Jeff Fisher six weeks to put him in. Jaguars.... I think last year's struggles were a fluke. This is traditionally a solid team, who I believe will return to form and contend for a wild card spot. Texans.....This team has all the talent to compete for the division, but there is just this cloud that hangs over the franchise that causes them to screw up each and every single year. NFC South Falcons..... Matt Ryan missed multiple games last year, as did Mike Turner yet the team still finished with 8/9 wins. With the Saints I believe falling rapidly back down to earth, I believe this is the Falcon's year.....maybe eve a dark horse Super Bowl Team. Saintss..... I believe the Saints will fall rapidly down to earth this year, with the only thing that helps their free fall being the state of the lower two teams in the division. The offense will be great still, but I believe their defense will go back to once again being a weakness of the team, not a strength. However with four basically guaranteed wins to start the season (two wins a piece over both Panthers/Buccs), and a possibly split with the Falcons, the Saints could still win the wild card based strictly off of schedule. Panthers.... This could be one of the worst teams in the league, which is a shame because it is probably going to cost John Fox.....for whom I consider a good head coach his job. The team has SOME talent (Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart), but is missing a lot of defensive pieces that made the team great during their stretch run. Buccs.....This team has all the pieces of being the worst team in the history of the NFL. I'm serious. Cadalliac Williams is the only player on the team that I think could play on a lot of the other teams in the league. You can't realisticly call a "winless" season since it has only happened once, but I am hard pressed to find where that one victory is going to come from. I guess they'll probably find it though, and maybe a second but that is all.
  4. The Crazies....3/10 Typical zombie movie plot for the most part, with no real plot twist......multiple mistakes that corrupt the movie, and an ending that is straight stupid. Clash of the Titans...... 7/10 I wanted to like the movie more then I did. I love Greek Mythology, so I was naturally into the movie. However the movie at times just seemed to be too over the top,and is the first movie EVER where I felt Liam Neeson didn't do a great job acting. However I was pleasantly surprised that I grew to like a lot of the supporting characters and Sam Worthington played a perfectly acceptable action flick star.
  5. :lmao: @ Nick Swisher being struck out in last night's game to a Cleveland OUTFIELDER who came in to pitch. ...and somehow I am sure the New York Media will blame A-Rod for it ha ha.
  6. Salt 7.7/10..... Not a bad action flick. Actually one of the better female lead action films that I can think of to be honest. The movie never got dull, told a decent enough story to keep it interesting, and had plenty of action. Could have been better, but could have been a lot worse. I probably should actually rate it a bit higher. I just don't feel like it. Grown Ups 8.9/10..... Good film. This is actually where I think Adam Sandler is at his best. He can do sutle humor very well, and does a nice job of playing off of everyone else's over the top characters. I loved each and every single one of the characters in the movie.
  7. You said none of the players selected by Matt Millen were still on the team? I don't pay attention to the Lions much, but wasn't he the CEO for 8 years? If so to be fair, you forgot to mention his last two years of CEO where he drafted this guy named Calvin Johnson......and Gosder Cherilus. That's your best offensive player, and a starting tackle right there. In fact, his first round selections weren't all that horrible. Now, I'm not trying to make the argument that Matt Millen was an amazing GM, but I think he gets clowned on WAY to much over his first round selections. I went back and looked up all of his first round picks. What I found was that you can make justifications for all of this picks. Again, I'm not trying to make the point that Matt Millen was a great GM. He wasn't. He deserves a lot of the blame, and never to be a GM of another team again. However his picks in the first round weren't INSANE by any means. They just didn't work out. The New England Patriots have picks in the first round that don't work out....it doesn't mean they are 'bad picks'. But having your picks 'not work out', and doing INSANE stuff (such as what the Raiders have done over the last couple years) are two totally different things.
  8. I'm actually surprised that Shaq isn't a higher target for the Heat considering he is exactly what they need, IMO. I know he was traded from the Heat, but I didn't know of any bad blood that persisted between him and the Heat. Is there any? Because if not, he seems to fit the bill of a wide body who can plug up the center in the playoffs and who ya know..... is chasing a ring.
  9. Sounds like Bron'Bron may be heading to NYC to play with STAT and possibly Tony Parker, if they can pull off the sign and trade deal with David Lee to San An that everyone seems to be buzzing about. ......which if it is the case will create an AMAZING Eastern Conference finals match up with Orlando and the Knicks.....however the Lakers will cream whomever wins that in Five. :crying:
  10. Girls + Beer + Fireworks = Awesome Night =) Ha Ha....and probably a rough morning

  11. Actually I would have to agree with DMN. True, on paper the "super team" in Miami looks impressive but the Lakers have proven they can play well together. As long as Artest returns to LA next year, I would still pencil them in as the favorites jno matter what happens in free agency. That doesn't mean the super team in Miami....or any other super team that develops in this free agent off season, presumably can't defeat the Lakers. What I am saying is that until they have proven they can play together, the Lakers have to be the favorites going into next season.
  12. LeBron: I don't know. He is the ultimate wild card. Chicago makes a lot of sense, but I just don't see LeBron going to a city where he will have to win SEVEN championships before they even consider him to be the greatest player in team history. Especially the way he enjoyed the diva, "god" like attention in Cleveland. I could actually see LeBron ending up in Miami first, before he ends up in Chicago. However I still believe when all the dust settles, LeBron will end up in one of the two places he was going to end up before, New York or Cleveland. Between the two, I would have to say I'm 50/50 on each, picking Cleveland only in a coin flip. Wade: From all accounts, Wade should end up in Miami. I would give this a 90% chance of happening, holding out a ten percent chance that he has lost faith in the Heat over the past few years. If he has, I think he'll end up in Chicago. Chris Bosh: I've always thought that he was bound for Chicago too. The only time i ever questioned his final destination at all was when his name came up in connection to the Lakers.....who might have turned to him as the answer if they didn't win the championship. But since the Lakers are out, I'm guessing Bosh will land in Chicago. Joe Johnson: I've thought all along that Joe Johnson was bound for New York due to his connection with their Coach. I guess I sorta thought Johnson would be the consolation prize for not getting LeBron. STAT: A'Stat falls only behind LeBron on my wild card meter. I could make an arguement for him going to any of the major teams. If I had to pick, I would say that he would end up in Miami, only because they will need a second big superstar greater then any of the other teams listed.
  13. Big Z needs to be traded across town, so that him and Ozzie can be in the same dug out. I would pay to see that. On the no hitter note, I know I should feel happy for the D'Backs pitcher....since it is probably the only good thing that will happen to the team all year, but I find the bigger story to be that this is the second time Tampa has given up a no hitter this year (if I remember correctly)? I mean it's weird as fuck to say the least considering they are pretty good, with a decent/good lineup, and may end up being the American League Wild Card winner. As Shane Helms would say, "WASSUPWITDAT?"
  14. Ugh, the Hornets are testing my patience. They draft the big kid out of Kansas....only to trade him five minutes later along with Mo Peterson for basically nothing. Ugh. I really wish they would trade Chris Paul, they are just going to waste his career if they don't. *cries*

    Jonah Hex

I've gotta be honest. I've never actually looked at her face.
  16. If US goes on to draw this game, I will not put as much blame on this draw over the disallowed goal as in the previous game. US should have multiple goals in this game. They have had too many chances to score and simply cannot do it.
  17. Good Call, I think.... Demspy should have stayed in position and he would have an easy goal. On second look, it looks like he was behind the defender. Fuck! Seriously, USA cannot catch a break in this World Cup......well unless you count that LITTLE break against England. ha ha ha
  18. Thank God Chris Paul is on the trading block. He is by far my favorite player to watch in the NBA, but the Hornets just have failed to build a good team around him. David West is a good player, but about the only other decent player they have added over the past few years is a back up point guard...... .......I hope he ends up in a better place, and not just another New Orleans Version 2.0
  19. Tiger TORE up the back nine to move to one under. He probably still won't win the Open, but he is playing a lot better then I thought he would.
  20. Sad =( the last thing I remember him doing was one of those Fox celebrities boxing matches, where him and whomever he was fighting wouldn't fight one another. The crowd ended up booing both of them, and the ref kept telling them to start fight. Still sad though.
  21. I don't see how three of the big max contract guys will end up on the same team. It is going to be difficult enough for two of them to end up on the same team with the contract implications, much less three. Teams like the Knicks, who have no one basically under contract, would be the only ones who could convicably afford two free agents. In fact, I bet this whole situation turns out to be nothing more then media hype. I bet out of the top five or free agents, LeBron/Wade/Dirk/Johnson/Bosh/Stat, only one or two of them will actually end up on a different team.
