  1. Some things I've noticed while playing my EWR save: - Jenna Jameson is set as Male - John Curse has a Development Deal with ECW, which makes him glitch on his roster position to "None", can't be changed or altared in the game - Kyoko Inoue is listed as American, should be Japanese Just a few little things for now, really enjoying the game.
  2. Hey, I think the scenario is set at January 1st 1998. Just loaded it up and Shane Douglas is the ECW champion, and he lost that title on January 10th 1998.
  3. Hello. I have worked on this update on and off for literally years and years. It is still no complete, but I thought if I release it, somebody with the motivation may be able to complete it. Things that still need work include Sponsors, Staff, Television and TV Networks. I was happy with the Workers in the game, but I'd been using prowrestling.wikia starting from about 1950, and adding wrestlers who made their debut in that year and were still active. I had worked upto 1977 and it's very laborious having to research each worker and add them to game. Was my hope to do that up to 1997 though. I also overhauled the wage structure and used the following table as a loose guide. It was not set-in-stone to be the formula, but worked to lower all the ridiculous wages to fit better with the time period. Here is the Data folder. I'd rather some Historical Data enthusiast find some use from this database, rather than just letting it sit rotting on my old laptop! No telling if I'll ever return to complete my own version, but at the minute it doesn't look likely. http://www.mediafire.com/file/o55h72cxrt8p24l/DATA.rar/file
  4. Just a small update. I finished sifting through the Workers in the game and am currently adding more. I went to the Pro Wrestling Wiki and started with the page for workers who debuted in 1950 and were still active in 1997. I'm working through that, and am currently upto 1966 debuts, with 409 Workers in the database. I have also cleared out all the fake Staff members and added many real ones. The database currently needs 10 more Owners and 5 more Medical staff, but I will get around to that. The Titles are all correct, and the Alter Egos and Relationships files contain a lot of data and are as accurate as possible. I haven't touched the Sponsors, Promotions or Events files yet.
  5. Hello folks. For about 5 years on and off I previously worked on a January 1996 real-world mod, only for the data to be corrupted. I gave up at that point and took a hiatus from the game. However, now I'm back with a new PC, and I'm not really in to modern day wrestling. It's back to working on creating the most accurate mod from my favourite period of wrestling from when I was a kid. It is based off of the January 1997 mod from the Home of Pro Wrestling link in the sticky on these here forums. Having said that, it is going to be edited so much that it will look nothing like that mod when I'm finished. Just used it as a starting point to save a little time. So far I have spend many, many hours sifting through the Workers, deleting many and creating many more, as well as editing every entry one by one. It's a painstaking process and I'm only halfway through that right now. I am also trying to include as many relationships as possible, as I feel this makes the game more interesting. I'm also trying to put together a general salary structure based off of Overness, to make the game more balanced. This includes giving workers with Written contracts a slightly higher rate of pay than a worker on an Open contract with the same Overness. Once I have implemented this I am considering giving every WCW worker say... +40% salary, as we all know they loved to overpay. I am editing the data to be accurate up to that time period. So relationships that were formed after that period won't be in the game, nor will tag teams or alter egos. I am also going to be adding wrestlers who retired around the period as Staff, as I hate using the computer-generated Staff option. Nothing crazy, just things like Nikita Koloff working in Production, Biff Wellington and The Dynamite Kid as Road Agents. May be a bit of fantasy, but I find the generated staff are painfully bad. They all seem to have names of football/soccer players from the England football teams of the late 90s and early 00s. I also intend to expand on the Sponsors and make them relevant to the time period, as there's only 46 currently in the data. The wrestler stats at the minute are very much ballpark figures and I am sure there would be some who don't agree with what is there. I am currently debating how to approach the stats. Considering once I have completed adding Workers to then make spreadsheets for each stat ranking everybody from best to worst, then altering their stats as appropriate. For example, I am down to editing Workers beginning with K. so I've done a basic edit for all Workers from A through J. Here is a list of the top Brawling, Speed and Technical Workers from those I've completed editing: Brawling 95 - Bret Hart 90 - Jushin Thunder Liger 85 - Goldust 80 - Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Jado, Jeff Jarrett, Jinsei Shinzaki and Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw Speed 100 - Juventud Guerrera 95 - Christopher Daniels and Hayabusa 90 - Billy Kidman, Jerry Lynn and Jushin Thunder Liger 85 - Eddie Guerrero, Hector Garza and Jeff Hardy 80 - Chris Jericho, Christian York, Devon Storm, Evan Karagias, Flash Funk, Gedo, Jamie Howard, Jinsei Shinzaki and Johnny Swinger Technical 100 - Bret Hart, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko 95 - Chris Jericho 90 - Curt Hennig and Johnny Smith 85 - Dan Severn and Jun Akiyama 80 - Arn Anderson, Eddie Guerrero, Jeff Jarrett and Jushin Thunder Liger You may see imbalances here, but believe me, this is an improvement from what I started with. One of the main conundrums is wrestlers who were just starting out in this period being given ridiculously high stats. Edge, for example, had all stats set at 90+. Another example is Charlie Haas, who is 24 in the game. I've lowered his stats to 60 Brawling and Technical, and 50 Speed. I'm sure with a year in Development he can be called up to the main Roster with some fine stats. As I said the stats are far from finalised and at the minute I'm satisfied to round everything to the nearest 5. I will be doing the fine tuning once I have completed the first run through and got all the Workers added that I want in the game. At the minute I've whittled the number down to 358, but I will be looking to increase that to over 500. Another issue is there only being the big three; WCW, WWF and ECW currently in the game. I will probably release the first version of this mod with only those three, and add more Promotions to future versions. This is a project which could drag out for quite a while. At the minute I'm very motivated to get all the Workers added as that's the most time-consuming part and I'm already over halfway through editing those that are there. Also, I won't be able to sort out the GFX for the mod as I'm useless at that sort of stuff. In the ideal world someone will jump on board to help with that side of things. Anyway. Apologies for the length of the post, just thought I'd give people a heads up on what I'm upto and what is hopefully in store. I'll keep you posted. Any input is greatly appreciated.
  6. You mean a lot of wrestlers who've left the business and don't look to be coming back any time soon? My intentions are to focus on current rosters and other upcoming talent employed by promotions who aren't in the game.
  7. What I’m considering doing is having set salary scaling for different overness levels. For example, Overness 0-10 will be set to $A, Overness 11-20 will be set to $B, Overness 21-30 will be set to $C, and so on. On top of this I’ll then factor in who is employed where, with bigger promotions paying more than the general going rate etc. Other factors which could then lower these salary levels would be Unemployed workers, foreign workers and older workers. Example A./ If you have a 65 overness guy with WWE on $50,000, does it make sense for an unemployed 65 overness guy to also be on $50,000? He’d be pricing himself out of work with most of the top indy promotions most likely. Example B./ I am considering lowering the salary demands of Mexican and overseas workers. This may make it possible to employ a foreign worker for a lot cheaper than a similar quality North American worker. Example C./ Old workers like Shawn Michaels, to me it doesn’t make sense now for him to be asking for the same salary as current top Main Event guys in WWE. Yes he’s very over but at the same time he isn’t capable of carrying a promotion like the old days.
  8. Hello folks. I have put together an alternative EWR real world update. I've recently came back to EWR after a prolonged hiatus. This update is based off of @jmac7164's and I shall be using suggestions from these forums along with my own edits for future updates. I will not be releasing a full changelist, but in this first update I've altered a few promotions names and a lot of event names, tried to update the title holders as best as possible and added a fair few little known indy wrestlers. This time around I didn't have enough time to incorporate a whole lot of changes, but as the months go by I hope that my data will branch off enough to justify having more than one real world update. I appreciate any suggestions and will consider every one. I don't watch a lot of wrestling these days so I could particularly do with help concerning things like roster changers, new signings and releases for each promotion. 9. I believe there was some kinda spin-off named "Smoky Wrestling Alliance" or Association, something like that, but it was too infrequent to include as a proper promotion, and besides it wasn't around on 1st January 1996. Also, USWA is included as the development territory for the WWF.
  10. AWA ran from 1960-1991. And NWA is a tricky one. I can't find any records of any promotions around in 1996, besides "NWA East" which doesn't seem to have been upto much, doesn't even have a wiki page. Also, I think the NWA titles were held by wrestlers in Japan around these times.
  11. Hey guys, Recently started work on a scenario to start in January 1996. I am using scenario off EWRInventory as a base, but of course this is so far off accurate it almost becomes irrelevant. Anyway, I have had to add alot of the promotions that were around that time myself, and outside of the big three at the time my knowledge is severely lacking. I have done alot of googling and other research to try to get the promotions in the best order I could manage, but of course I know there is some knowledgable people on here so could always do with a few pointers and suggestions. Would just like to know what is the general consensus on my placing of the 18 promotions I will have in the game. Any knowledge of schools and development territories around the time of January 1996 would be great. And also, any suggestions on finances would be cool. Here's what I've got so far:
