  1. I know you're joking here, but I'd say that Dina Asher-Smith is one of the most personable British sportspeople I can remember.
  2. The shops I used to work in didn't tend to play Christmas music often, and I was very thankful for that. There was the odd day or two when someone would put in a Christmas CD, but we mostly had a radio next to the PA system. Because we worked at night, the music licence was much cheaper too. I'm a miserable git when it comes to this time of year, anyway. There are very few Christmas pop songs that don't irritate me. I quite like most carols, though.
  3. I scrolled down to the bottom of the page quickly and initially thought that was a picture of another Power Rangers reboot.
  4. Sol Campbell owns properties worth an estimated combined £50 million. He wouldn't even notice an extra £180,000. To want to take away people's livelihood for the sake of slightly boosting your already unnecessarily vast wealth is greed and nothing more.
  5. I think Stokes will win, but I think I'd vote for KJT. After numerous setbacks on the world stage, she really delivered the goods this year and set a British record on her way to winning gold. It was a feel-good story.
  6. I only managed to catch the last three frames, but I'm very happy with the result. Trump annoys me a little, but I'm mainly pleased because having him dominate would be boring. Ronnie losing would be great too, but I think he's got to be favourite based on recent form now that Trump's gone. Full credit to Bond too. For a 54-year-old who's been out of the top 16 for 20 years to beat the World Champion and World Number 1 in the second biggest tournament of the season is some achievement.
  7. This is on sale for £13.49 on PSN right now. The DLC isn't discounted, however.
  8. I think England would be better off not winning their group. They'd have to play the runners-up of Group F.
  9. I'm wondering about the incest too. If it were Weiss and Benioff, I'm sure it would play a major part, but it isn't, so we'll see. As for the American cast members, maybe they'll have it so the Targaryens, having just made it over from Essos, have different accents from the Westerosi natives. Then, after settling there for a few generations, the family will have developed English-sounding accents. That's just a theory that's probably wrong.
  10. That post makes it look as if an actor called Edmyn Tully is playing a character called Dan Donohue. That would have been funny if it were true.
  11. I still prefer it to the Euros. Actually, though, if it had to change from 16, I'd rather the Euros had expanded to 32 teams than 24. It would make qualification largely pointless, but that ship's sailed now anyway. I suppose my point is that international tournaments with a number of teams that isn't 2 to the power of another whole number bother me. EDIT: On another subject, England are joint favourites with France? I'm assuming that's just English bookmakers.
  12. I wouldn't say it's infinitely worse than the Euros. It's worse than how the World Cup is now, but it'll at least be clear who goes through.
  13. I like the idea of having multiple host nations as a one-off, but it's made the draw a lot less exciting. The 24-team group stage doesn't work well either, just as it didn't when it was used in the World Cup. When the World Cup expands to 48 teams, at least the permutations of who makes it to the knockout stages will be clear. With the Euros, you have to deal with all the best third-placed team codswallop. When you're possibly having to wait days to know if you've made it through or not, it can make the moment-to-moment drama less potent.
  14. I've never had the mental stamina to do that. I'd have to watch this in chunks.
  15. I didn't think of it earlier, but I think Scribblenauts could be a good idea. It has touch controls in handheld mode and is a really good game for stretching the imagination. I suppose it could also be educational in terms of expanding a child's vocabulary and spelling knowledge.
  16. It might not quite be as wild as the Everton/City match, but this was something that happened on my FM19 game a couple of weeks ago: Just imagine the scenes as football's homecoming is cancelled at the last moment.
  17. Some sort of simple party game might be a good entry point. 1-2 Switch or Mario Party, perhaps. Mario Kart ought to be a reasonable bet too, and the Lego games are very beginner-friendly.
  18. The Playstation Plus games have leaked slightly early. The first is Titanfall 2 and the second is Monster Energy Supercross: The Video Game. Seriously.
  19. I've just seen that this returns on 23rd February.
  20. You should be able to. Backwards compatible games on disc have to be downloaded to the system anyway because it's how the emulation works.
  21. The fight's on Youtube now, although it'll certainly be taken down quickly. Ortiz was dominating the fight until that monster shot. Wilder has a lot of weaknesses as a technical boxer, but his punching power is devastating. He's like a reverse Amir Khan.
  22. It's a shame that we won't see both Irelands at the Euros.
  23. I should add at this point that I didn't follow the Eriksen/Vertonghen story and thought that there genuinely was an affair. I'm still not a fan of it because the "lad" culture of football annoys me, but it doesn't seem as mean-spirited as I initially thought.
