  1. It is such a bizarre idea. Like if they added tee-ball to the Olympics.
  2. I think the Jays should have a pretty strong year but they really should hire a manager who doesn't have a look on his face like a child who got separated from his parents at the mall whenever he is on camera.
  3. So I have been working recently on projects for new media and I am at the stage where I have a project ready to start filming. However, I have no internet so I can't stream it, but it is the sort of project where I would have a lot of downtime to kill, which would normally (when streaming) be filled with chat interaction. But since I am going to do this test run on Youtube, I won't have live chat. So I came up with the idea of opening the floor to any questions. If there is a funny interaction we had you want me to relive on stream, if there was one of my stories you wanted to know more about, if there is a currently relevant issue you want to know my stance on, please shoot me a question. Can sign it or not, just as long as you are okay with me reading and reacting to it in a youtube video. https://forms.gle/AbRudE3kP1F2D48k7
  4. I only had a few minutes of free time but I popped in, was good to see you back at it! I have had a lot of fun with your streams and hopefully you do too.
  5. I mean I wouldn't say Boba Fett was introduced in the Mandalorian. Don't forget he was in the Holiday Special.
  6. The r/hockey thread is a goldmine.
  7. This is the Pension Plan Problem: Sports teams are a business and are designed for maximum profitability. Chasing success is not always how you do that. Teams being successful is in the better competitive interest of the league but not always the best interest of the teams themselves and anti trust laws etc etc etc. Sports and money just shouldn't mix. Slightly unrelated, but probably one of smartest minds for sports and sports business that I know is Jer/GYS, if you ever want to hear his thoughts on stuff you should check out his socials, and or his twitch.
  8. Okay, so I actually sent an email to Beeker about this earlier (cause the Canucks beat Montreal, and they should have, and they looked okay), and he's not allowing me to drink soda so I made myself a hot chocolate and time to dive into the stats. So let's analyze the top producing players from three teams: a surprise, the Flames, someone who is about what we expected them to be, the Leafs, and the Canucks. Canucks are the only team whose top paid forward isn't among their top five producers. Hell, look at the Leafs, that top four are right where they should be. Canucks are a mess. Conor Garland and JT MIller are dragging this team kicking and screaming while Boeser and (primarily) Pettersson are lagging behind. Pettersson seems to be coming around. I think the big issue is, what fixes this team? IMO there are two ways to go: Pod and Hog, JT and Garland, these guys look like gamers. They can score. Boeser is slow out of the block, but I think a lot of that is matchups and if you start mixing in the Pod and Hog up front, teams will have to move away a bit from that matchup. I think the Canucks need a second line center. Horvat is fine for 5 on 5, and PK, but he's not a PP1 center. If you can find that as the Canucks, get him in. If it's affordable do it. Pettersson with his wrist the way it is should be the third man into the circle, not the second, not the first. Let him grip and rip, not fight for possession. I really think that with a better look on special teams, the team could do well. Their defense has been better than expected. OEL looks like an NHL level player again. They just need to get a complimentary piece for the powerplay. Kill can sort itself out. That is probably something that needs to be handled on the personel side. The other option is to just blow it up entirely, but I don't even think that fixes anything. Replace the coach, he's still working with sandbagging players. Replace the GM, he is still stuck with same players. Put new people in, you are still stuck with the same chucklefuck owner. Canucks made a bunch of good moves in the offseason and one very stupid one, but this team is what it is as long as Tony Soprano is running the team from his boxseats at the Raiders game. There is no hockey ops side of the team; it's Jim, and Frankie, and even if Jim's head rolls, they'll put in another yes man. Canucks are a crooked business and they're designed to make money, not win games. It's not impossible to win games, but if you really think their owner gives a shit, you haven't followed this team for the past five years.
  9. I love it. Meanwhile the offseason swap where Arizona and Vancouver traded each other a car trunk full of hot garbage is actually working out for both teams.
  10. Teams are already playing prospect camps so let's make a new thread.
  11. Sorry, Eichel is not coming to Calgary, he played for Buffalo not Vancouver.
  12. I love that the punter for the Cowboys is named Anger.
  13. A nice reprieve for fans who are used to getting fucked.
