Is there any point to getting Minecraft on the PS3? I never really thought much of the game, until I started watching videos from RedDash16 on youtube(his dalek mod series in particular is awesome). Now I kind of want to play it but if I get it on the PC it'd just become one of many games I want to play and that I probably wont get around to playing. If I got it on the PS3 however, it'd probably be top of the list and I'd have plenty of time to play it. However if the PS3 version...

PS3 is limited but it's simple. You don't have to remember every crafting recipe, it's impossible to get lost forever and you don't have to worry about setting the game up, just load and play. Plus if you're on PS3 I might be able to help you sometime if you play online

... I just entered my SP Minecraft world, and-- I shit you not-- as I spawn in my secure base with ample lighting and locked doors, a creeper spawned in the ceiling above me and blew up my stuff. HOW IN THE HELL.

Lighting is fucked kinda. Unless every block is glowstone or has a torch on it something might spawn there. That's just in my experience though.
