  1. I think there might be some speculation that the PS3 will let you play Genesis games or something like that using a Virtual Console system, I remember hearing that somewhere.
  2. They were fairly popular in Seattle in, like, 2004. But "huge" is a massive overstatement.
  3. God, no they weren't. And Orlando Bloom was a perfectly fine straight-man in PotC/PotC II, but that's about it. In LotR I can't really remember him actually acting ever. I think he was taking the piss. Yeah, I would have recognized that if I had read the entire post. Smooth, GoGo.

  5. It took me five minutes to remember who Good Charlotte even were, it's been so long since that name meant anything to me other than "shitty band." Then I remembered their actual music and... yeah. Their one contribution to anything that's worth a damn is doing the theme for Undergrads, because Undergrads was a fantastic show.
  6. ... ew. Just... ewww. EDIT: Worse yet is the realization that Green Day might crack top five.
  7. There were other really good Digital Shorts that he had nothing to do with, though.
  8. Both. She's the star and main writer on it. As for the show, it seemed like they were headed for a radical change. Too bad the big problem with this is that Seth Meyers is still head writer after last season. The writing staff is really what needed shaking up and it appears there isn't much that did get shaken up after all. In fairness, under Meyers SNL has seen the debut of the Digital Shorts, the best thing about the show since the Will Ferrell days. The only problem is the rest of the show. >_> Exactly. And since they messed up one of the key short players, where does that leave the show now? Eh. They've still got Andy Samberg and the Lonely Island guys, and Will Forte. It's not the end of the world that Parnell's gone since he was only REALLY relevant in Lazy Sunday.
  9. Yeah, he's mostly dropped off the face of the earth, except for his guest spot on The Office last season where he was pretty funny. It's unfortunate, because I always liked him as a character actor. Yeah. Now I wished that The Ladies Man had actually taken off at the box office, though, I suppose it didn't have much chance once Superstar and Night at the Roxbury underwhelmed. I don't mind so much because I didn't really care for The Ladies Man as a character anyway. Now Perspectives, on the other hand, that was pretty great.

  11. The following is a list of people who have been on SNL who are funnier than Horatio Sanz, off the top of my head in no discernable order; John Belushi, Kevin Nealon, Dana Carvey, Chris Rock, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Laraine Newman, Jane Curtin, Dan Aykroyd, Garrett Morris, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Phil Hartman, David Spade, Chris Parnell, Darrell Hammond, Seth Meyers, Tracy Morgan, Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Nora Dunn, Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller, Julia Sweeney, Tina Fey, Norm MacDonald, Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Jeff Richards, Tim Meadows, Kenan Thompson, Ben Stiller, Damon Wayans, and Gilda Radner. And god knows I'm probably forgetting a LOT of people.
  12. At least they're not in the Top Five this year.
  13. Which is hilarious because In Utero is probably better than Nevermind as a whole, even if the singles are inferior and there are some really terrible songs here and there ("Scentless Apprentice," "Milk It"). I don't think Nirvana would have the lasting power that Pearl Jam has, even if I think that their music as a whole would have been infinitely superior. Cobain was in the process of making his music less accessable to the public, if In Utero is any indication.
  14. Eh. It could be worse. Losing Parnell is unfortunate and kind of insane given that he finally had a breakout year, but at the same time, Horatio Sanz is gone and that just puts a smile on my face.
  15. When I get a new album I always listen to it start to finish before adding it to my playlist. It's the only way, to me, to get a true sense of the album and how good it is as a whole. Also, I listen to albums start to finish on my iPod all the time, usually at least one per day.
  16. 1. The Beatles 2. The Pillows - #26 3. Blur - #21 4. The Ramones 5. Gorillaz - #100 6. Miles Davis 7. Nirvana - #17 8. The White Stripes - #36 9. Jurassic 5 10. Johnny Cash - #49 There's no way that the Fabs won't be somewhere in the top eight, so I'm going to end up with seven out of ten on the list, and I wasn't expecting Miles Davis or Jurassic 5 to chart anyway. So this all works out. The Ramones not charting is still criminal, though.
  17. Rasputina - A Radical Recital - 8/10 The White Stripes - De Stjil - 9/10
  18. Studio 60 - 8/10 And I'm watching Smith in ten minutes.
  19. As far as Brawl goes? As long as I can still work on perfecting Gratuitous Bowser Style, I'm good.
  20. I need to listen to the Foo Fighters' albums start to finish so I can make a proper decision on that stuff. Well, except for In Your Honor which was fantastically dull except for like five songs.
  21. That was great. God, this is going to be a good season for TV.
  22. Then what is Tina Fey's show about? Same thing Ain't NBC great?
  23. Agreed, but Lithium > Come As You Are.
  24. Agree to disagree indeed. I think that Nirvana was a hit-or-miss band, but when they hit, they really hit, in a way that none of the other bands could. For me, at least. I'm especially fond of "In Bloom" because it was one of the cleverest singles in the 90s; a catchy song that was easy to sing along to that's about morons who show up at concerts and sing along to songs with absolutely no clue as to the actual meaning of the song. And I also think that "About a Girl" is miles above anything the other three bands who are generally thought of when it comes to the grunge explosion ever released (except for maybe "Do the Evolution" by Pearl Jam). And for me the best band ever is The Beatles for sheer range, adaptability, and songwriting skill, but I'm betting on another finish somewhere between #7 and #4 for them this year.
