Come on, did you really name the main character of the mod after yourself? That's really kinda sad. Actually, I followed the Adam Ryland model of naming the main character after his e-fed character. Devon Poole was the name of my e-fed character, and some of the other characters were my other e-fed characters associated with him. My real name is similar to it but Devon Poole isn't my real name at all.

Canada Prior to the 1980's, Canadian wrestling was relatively small time, with no promotions being above the local size. Because of this, Canadian wrestling legend Jake Lambert spent a lot of time in The United States, headlining for the AWA's territories and becoming a 2-time AWA World Heavyweight Champion. Lambert's second reign was during the GWF's national expansion and the AWA's downfall, and he made the decision that after he lost the AWA World Title that he'd return home to Canada. The birth of HOTNPW... After Lambert returned home to Canada, he used his nationwide fame and respect alongside the bankrolls of some investors and created what was essentially Canada's answer to the GWF..Hollywood Of The North Pro Wrestling. Created in 1989, HOTNPW placed an equal emphasis on characters and large production values as it did on in-ring athleticism. This went over big with Canadian viewers, as for the first time ever it seemed like a major wrestling promotion was right at home in Canada. And that wasn't the last of them... In 1993, after seeing the GWF, HOTNPW, and the new TPW all embrace this "sports entertainment" style that completely destroyed the old-school era and rendered it out of style, wrestling promoter Dale DuBois decided to do something about it, creating his wrestling promotion Real Pro Wrestling. With the product being an ode to the old-school, with realistic characters and hard-hitting physical action, RPW gained more momentum by the year until it became a viable alternative to the sports entertainment style companies. Today, while both companies do acknowledge each other's existences, there is no national war in Canada between HOTNPW and RPW like there is in The United States between their big three. However, both promotions are on a race to being the first National Canadian wrestling promotion, with HOTNPW and RPW creating huge fanbases in their home regions with good enough popularity across the rest of Canada. HOTNPW boasts former face of the GWF in Hector Gallardo, the heir to the Lambert throne in Matthew Lambert, the ultimate underdog in Jon Bayer, the cocky yet very talented "Diamond" Doug Masters, and the suave ladies' man Armando Cisneros. Real Pro Wrestling has many stars from yesterday and today, including former TPW superstars The Wrangler and current RPW Champion Billy Kruger, the likeable Rocky Thunder, the mat wizard in Matthew Madden and the wrestling veteran Bobby Patterson. Heading into Canada, you have two choices: will you continue to prove that there's a place for both wrestling and entertainment with the Lambert's HOTNPW, or will you bring the old-school back into the mainstream with RPW? The choice is yours.

United States After the boom period for professional wrestling ended in the mid 1950's and television networks stopped airing pro wrestling events, a national "territorial" system was created by pro wrestling governing body the American Wrestling Alliance. With most of the notable wrestling promotions across the United States running events under the AWA banner, the wrestling industry looked like it was making a comeback, fueled by AWA crowing its first World Heavyweight Champion Greg Best. With the last world champion in pro wrestling retiring after the boom period ended, Greg Best reigned as not only the biggest draw in the business, but the undisputed world champion. Then came the GWF... In 1972, Dan Hightower, the son of a former pro wrestling and boxing promoter, created the Global Wrestling Federation. Managing to steal then-AWA World Heavyweight Champion Giovanni Lorenzo away from the AWA, the territorial system was beginning to crumble and the GWF began its rise with Lorenzo as its main draw, selling out arenas across the Tri-State all throughout the 1970's and into the 1980's. Enter: Bruce Blaze In the 1980's, the GWF was already the #1 wrestling promotion in the country, with the biggest draws in the industry. However, Dan Hightower had an even greater vision for his promotion. Forming working relationships with many media outlets, Hightower began to feature sports superstars and music artists at his events, raising the bar for pro wrestling and getting a lot of media press for the GWF. The bar was raised even higher when GWF World Heavyweight Champion Bruce Blaze began starring in big budget hollywood films. All of these things helped the GWF not only acquire a big time TV deal, but a Pay-Per-View deal. Their first event? The legendary Global Battle in 1985, headlined by Bruce Blaze successfully defending the GWF World Heavyweight Championship against mega-heel Gordon Smash. This paved the way for the GWF's national domination throughout the rest of the 1980's and into the early 1990's. That is, until Gregory James had something to say about it... For some time, TV network mogul Gregory James had tried to acquire the GWF for a television deal. Feeling snubbed one too many times, James used his many millions to create the GWF's greatest competitor, Total Pro Wrestling. Managing to steal some of GWF's biggest superstars, including the legendary Bruce Blaze, TPW soon took the GWF's top spot and the GWF were forced to create newer stars. The Gladiator, Hector Gallardo, Rick Blackman, Odin Cash and Damien Darkside were the recipies for the new, edgier GWF, to fight back against the TPW juggernaut. Things became a three way war when Xavier Santos created rebellious wrestling promotion International Xtreme Wrestling in 2001, pushing the envelope further than either of the other two promotions by featuring his talent in Drowned Alive and Electric Steel Cell matches. The Modern Era Today, the three way war is still being waged, with the GWF reigning at the top of the ladder, re-gaining its top spot in the 2000's, with TPW and IXW being a close second and third, respectively. The GWF has some of the biggest stars in the industry main eventing for them: The respected veteran The Gladiator, who some call the Greatest Of All Time in Rick Blackman, the former pro basketball superstar Eddie Kirkland, former MMA superstar Frank Slaughter, and the most controversial star in the business, Cain Ryder. TPW aren't any slouches however, with beer drinking redneck Buckie Sharp, TPW owner Shawn Diamond, a man who many claim is "The modern day Rick Blackman" in UK wrestler Shane Cromwell, iconic wrestling veteran SLASH and the incomparable bad ass in Scarlett Skull. IXW, while having less popular stars than the other two, still boasts the degenerate Warrior, The phenom in The Hangman, the fan favorite Xavier Santos, the arrogant-yet-talented Jack Smith, and their most popular wrestler by far... "Mr.Reality" Devon Poole (The main character of the mod) Debuting in the late 90's alongside cousin Eddie Kirkland and friend Deric Smith, Poole tagged with Smith for a few years in the GWF, becoming the GWF Tag Champions twice, before getting released alone in 2002. He signed with TPW later that year, and began his slow yet steady rise to the top, culminating in his 2006 TPW World Heavyweight Championship victory over TPW legend Scarlett Skull. However, the rumors say that a backstage argument with TPW star Shane Cromwell followed by a complaint to TPW higher ups, and ultimately, TPW Owner Shawn Diamond, led to Poole's title reign only lasting two weeks before dropping the title to the owner, mainly because "of an apparent ego problem" from Poole, although he denies this, and even "offered to put the guy (Cromwell) over for the title" during their back and forth argument, according to Poole. All of these events led to Poole, one of Total Pro Wrestling's most over superstars at the time, to leave and join their rival International Xtreme Wrestling in 2006. "Reenergized by the competition" as Poole put it, IXW became a home for him, and his star power helped raise the status and legitimacy of the already rising promotion into a now National stage. However, the choice is yours. Who will you work under? The dominant #1 promotion looking to remain that way and take its competitors out (GWF)? The #2 promotion who wants to un-do the mistakes that led to their fall from grace (TPW)? Or, the renegade promotion who ultimately want to stick it to the "big two" (IXW)? The Choice is yours.

I started lurking around here in the late 2000's, but I've been playing Adam Ryland games since 2005. It all started with the first Wrestling Spirit Demo that I downloaded. I sucked at it lol, but IIRC I made a personal amateur mod featuring all of the e-fed characters and feds on the 1UP.com community that I was apart of from 2005-2008. Around 2007 I got EWR and instantly got hooked, again modding a RW database to include 1UP.com's efed characters. I got TEW2008 around 2009, mainly playing RW mods until I got hooked into the CornellVerse when I got TEW2010 a year later. Everything else is history i guess. Development Of The PooleVerse I've been trying to make a mod for the modern TEWs since TEW2010. I quit my original mod and got started with this current one sometime in 2012. I developed it further here and there on 2010 until I upgraded the mod to 2013. Put in some more work sporadically until sometime this summer where I may have gotten the most work done. As of writing I just finished all of the title histories and active company bios. The mod is currently being uploaded on sendspace and is at 25% uploaded right now. I'll update this post with the link to the beta when it's finished. Goal Of The PooleVerse While I did work hard on this mod and I dont want it to suck, I'm not trying to have the biggest mod out in terms of workers, companies, etc. on day 1. My goal is to use the final version of this mod as the foundation of bigger, better versions of The PooleVerse in the future, similar to how the CornellVerse has developed into what it currently is. With that being said, all criticism of the mod are welcome. Whatever I can do to make this mod the best that I can, I am willing to do. Current Status Of The PooleVerse Right now, all workers have renders, thanks to the work from people like IER, MJStark, etc. who's work I was allowed to use for The PooleVerse. Most of the active promotions have logos, but there's still 2 active promotions and 6 yet to open promotions without logos or banners. I have no title belt renders. As for worker renders for the future, I welcome any and all render artists to help me furthur develop this mod in any way, shape, or form. Im in the process of making a mod for TEW2013, and while I've gotten permission to use a few other people's renders I'll most likely need more. Im wondering if anybody here are good with renders?If so, can you help me out by giving me some renders for my mod? Anybody who's work that I use will get credited to them.
