  1. I'm running a few things at the moment; Heavy Bowgun, Bow, Gunlance and Great Sword have been my mainstays so far; though I kinda wanna try everything out. Really, really enjoying it!
  2. I really didn't want to get into the online bit of MH:W either, but it's surprisingly ok - and I think that's because it's drop-in/drop-out, and communication is as limited as you want it to be. But honestly, I've just got past the first major "bit" and I'm hooked. I've never played a game with a more dynamic combat environment ever.
  3. Hey, probably mine too! Either that or Farewell, My Turnabout. What very good games they are.
  4. This is really gonna start to cause an issue for places with strict data caps. The next few years is gonna see a number of games of a similar size come out, which is gonna be fun for some folks.
  5. Sent it to you, other slackers be damned
  6. Have a few spare keys from the latest bundle if folks want: Dark Souls 2 and Galactic Civilisations 3. Let me know if anyone wants! Edit: Oh and Hyper Light Drifter
  7. To anyone interested in this sort of thing, there is an absolutely wonderful documentary on the making and remaking of FFXIV (part one) Its in 3 parts, and is pretty long (near 2 hours all in), but is a genuinely incredible story. That game should not be where it is today.
  8. That is an exceptional list of games. Holy shit.
  9. So I've found that it's actually two completely different games when playing solo and playing in a group. Solo is actually pretty survival horrorish (again; for me). Duo and Squad is more like traditional military shooter, ala ARMA (which obviously makes sense), still tense but more in a "you all have to communicate properly or you are just dead".
  10. PUBG is one of the most viscerally tense experiences I've had in games. Awesome game
  11. This (I think?) is a remake of the Gameboy game of the same name, but Nintendo have just killed it really with their announcements.
  12. Called "Broodal". Brilliant. And the power to possess other beings is called "cap-ture".
  13. Then Mario Odyssey happened.
  14. Right? It looks really good, and I've done a complete 180 on the idea of a Mario and Rabbids game. And it's out in 2 months!
  15. Late to the party on this but Ubisoft having a Mario/Rabbids game be an XCOM clone is the most crazy thing I have seen at a press conference in some time.
  16. Finished the game over the weekend, I really don't think I like the last act of the game at all. Fantastic game otherwise though, may get round to a NG+ later in the year.
  17. I bought Persona 5 digital, as it was literally sold out everywhere. I think I may take that route going forward as it wasn't outlandishly more expensive.
  18. Just finished the second palace. This is comfortably my game of the year so far. Everything in this game just fucking sings with style.
  19. Your situation is very similar to my situation, in that I do a lot of travelling at the moment too - and play my 3DS a ton as a result. And this is a more common situation for many people, especially in Japan where commuters are all just on phone games. And that's what gets me about the stream. This actually should be a bit of a no-brainer for Nintendo, this should be an easy win - everyone WANTS this to be a big thing. Finding and buying good mobile experiences is STILL a pain in the arse, but the market has still managed to move that way considerably. Make an accessible console with good games on it that people can play anywhere, and it'll do gangbusters. But Nintendo seems hell bent on having paper thin launches over the past few years. The 3DS was bad, the New 3ds was and is still appaling, the Wii U was bad and now it looks like the Switch will follow suit. The 3DS managed to recover because of great third party development and the ever-amazing DS library. WiiU doesn't really have that library and so far it doesn't look like there is the third party support either. Couple that with the decision to have a paid network when their online record is checkered at best and to basically charge the price of a 3DS for a replacement controller set and man. I know it's early days and we're kinda in the zeitgeist of it right now, but it just seems like the Wii U all over again. Maybe it'll still do well, and BOY do I hope it does, because this is exactly what I want from a console. P.S - that Zelda trailer is obscenely good.
  20. Pretty disappointing stream, that launch lineup doesnt look like its worth dropping the money. Hopefully the treehouse stream will show off a bit more, because i really want this to be a smash hit. Paid online maaaaay kill it dead though.
  21. Not sure where to put this, so I'll just plonk it here. http://letsplayvideogames.com/2016/12/report-dark-souls-3-running-on-switch-from-software-considering-trilogy-rerelease/ This is a rumour that Dark Souls 1/2/3 can run on the Switch, which is actually pretty big news for a few reasons. - They are looking to get big titles on the switch from the word go, I know they did this with a Batman game for the Wii U, but the difference here is that you can have a portable Dark Souls game, moreover a portable device capable of running a Dark Souls game. If it runs it well, this will absolutely sell the console as being good enough for me, and I imagine others. - The original huge list of publishers/developers that was given a while back may not just be for show, but if they really get more third party support for this one, we could see a huge amount of games both new and ports come to a portable platform. Couple both of these points with the rumour that the Switch is going to be chargable via USB-C, then you have a device that is easy to charge with external charging packs and plays a lot of different sorts of games. I have a feeling that the Switch may be a hit.
  22. Hmm. I'm only slightly familiar with the issues, if that is true then that's fair enough. It was pretty obvious by the end that the game wasn't..."finished" in the sense that the original planned story wasn't told. Some of the story elements that were used though (the most boring Jeep ride in existence) just seemed so ill conceived. MGS5 and that era of Konami is going to make a hell of a read if that book ever gets written, and no doubt was not an environment that Kojima could thrive in creatively. For me though, MGS 5 also had incredible hype (including the 'Nuclear' trailer, which ranks up there as one of my favourites ever) to its story, that I'm just gonna have to temper my hype until I see something a bit more concrete.
  23. Yeaaaahhh after MGS 5's story, I'm gonna really dial down my excitement for Kojima's ability to construct a good compelling narrative.
  24. Disgaea port is absolutely solid, played through a lot of it and not a single issue with it at all. EDIT: This was a reply to the previous page...
