  1. 99% of the time in this case, I'd usually defer to "delete the staff member" (using the argument that for staff members, they mean next to nothing for your actual game and are just a name and a number). Sorensen counts there since he went back to active work after being on TNA staff. However in Fuentes's case, I'd say delete the worker because she's basically a staff member all around who's in-ring career is virtually nonexistent [one televised match, one Coconut loop match, and one match for a small-time promotion.] It's fair to say she's a staff member first and foremost, so...delete Dasha as a worker and Sorensen as a staff member.
  2. Aiden English has retired from wrestling to be a commentator full-time; since I believe he's both in the scenario, the wrestler can likely be deleted in favor of the announcer.
  3. Would WWN be a good precedent for ROH: Much like EVOLVE/SHINE were two separate brands under the WWN name, have a AEW/ROH brand split under AEW? That would also help for the "most of the champions are presumably not in place for ROH": while Gresham/The Briscoes are free agents (and Josh Woods has worked Dark jobber matches and is presumably either in the fold or close to it), Deonna Purrazzo is ROH Women's Champ but under Impact contract. While there's no 6-Man Titles in EWR, with the No Surrender result, it's safe to say Honor No More is under Impact contract; meaning that the 6-Man champs are split up (Vincent is in Impact with Honor No More, but Dutch and Bateman were announced for Control Your Narrative and presumably are not.)
  4. Not sure on Austin/Rock/Hogan/Bret because they could conceivably show up, either as special guests/wrestlers or non-wrestling roles. However, to go with The Bruiser, was just playing and noticed Xavier's still in the game, when he died a few months ago as well.
  5. Yeah- like @Rocky 2K19 said, I wasn't sure what the default would be for them, so I skewed to the 50s/60s as fair. 80/85 is reasonable as well.
  6. Sure thing, since I was hoping for more NOVAPro people in there: Allie Kat: Brawl- 50 Speed- 25 Tech- 27 Over- 13 Charisma- 63 Selling- 55 Stiffness- 30 Wages- 3000 Attitude- 60 Behavior- 60 Gimmick: Fun Babyface Faye Jackson Brawl- 54 Speed- 15 Tech- 20 Over- 23 Charisma- 55 Selling- 45 Stiffness- 30 Wages- 3000 Attitude- 50 Behavior- 50 Gimmick: Comedy Character
  7. Checking through the sponsors list since I was using it for a game: Delete Sports Authority or replace it; it's closed down.
  8. Likewise for this, Demitrius Bronson was fired in the same firing spree where Abbey Laith/Sage Beckett were released, remove him from the WWE.
  9. With the UK promotions, would it be likely that the closest way to get the same basic effect of a UK promotion would be to mark them as Canadian promotions instead? Canada has some connections to the United Kingdom as it is anyway, so it's about as close to getting the spirit of the law as there could be with a game as old as EWR is.
  10. That's not part of the save file; it just happens sometimes naturally when a wrestler works for two promotions and you'll be the third one as part of the game itself. Usually either offering them a Written contract (or, in Cabana's case as a NOAH worker, using Easy Steal on Arsenic to get him to a Written deal) should fix it.
  11. The biggest counter I'd say from the requested updates is to counter that alterego issue...
  12. Even then, though, that ties to issues with "EWR" as a whole, not just the Relationship dynamic- EWR holds every promotion, no matter how big, in the same regard with each other. This really makes all the difference: Using that Rhyno/Edge/Christian quitting over Joe E. Legend- no, we can safely say that Edge or Christian wouldn't quit the WWE or TNA over their treatment of Joe E. Legend- but if it was, say, some shindy that fired Joe E. Legend from regular appearances, it's much more likely one of the three would say "Nah, if he's not going to be at the show, I really don't want to show up there either." EWR, however, would put the smallest backyard promotion on the same benefits as the WWE- meaning that both things become unified.
  13. Even then, though, that is a point- just because in the real world, "wrestling= WWE", you also have to account for how the average wrestling fan would react. Taking the "layperson vs. hardcore fan" argument, "well, the average fan only knows WWE or Monday Night Wars- era WCW, so only WWE/WCW guys should have high overness"- and it did seem like it was said by the "if no one, even top guys, has an overness higher than 80, so be it" to the obvious conclusion, then you have to lower everyone in WWE's overness and make a roster where the only people allowed to be 90+ overness are The Rock, MAYBE Hulk Hogan, and the Jersey Shore/Maria Menounous type celebrities who snuck into the game because "average-to-non fans know them", then have people like, say, an Alberto Del Rio or a Sheamus [main event WWE guys, but unknown on a mainstream level) at midcard level- and that's unreasonable as well. There is that problem with just going completely to "Wrestling is WWE" for it- you have to also account for the wrestling bubble and adjust the overness based on what a regular wrestling fan would view for overnesses, just because it's reasonable. It's a wrestling simulator, not an entertainment simulator on a whole, so people have to be judged on their overness in wrestling. It's more feasible to just say "shut up and Arsenic it yourself" on problems like overness, simply because in most cases, overness issues like the "TNA-to- WWE conversion" for TNA stars is a problem that will only come into play IF YOU HIRE THE WORKER TO WWE. It's more feasible to make choices like, say, "The American Wolves are high 60s, but they just got hired by WWE under development deals- Drop their overness into the low 40s to accommodate for them being under development deals and the WWE changeover" then it is to give people who prefer to play TNA games a harder time by dropping TNA homegrowns' overness to something adjusting what they'd be in WWE, solely to accommodate people who prefer to play as WWE.
  14. Once you go down to Regional, you're going past "be realistic for TNA's rating!" and down to outright TNA hate there. Even if you're going to say "TNA's worthless, I would personally say TNA should be 0% Backyard, and even that's selling it too high!", bare minimum in the game TNA has to be at least Cult just so that they can keep the "former WWE guys" who'd be above 70 overness. I think TNA being national "is" fair enough, especially since EWR will always be too easy to get a promotion back up to Global/Regional. Even if TNA can't break into Global, or if you argue, National in game, just crank up the Advertising budget and you're Global within about a year or two.
  15. TNA's roster isn't the real issue for minor pro-rating, simply because there'll never be a "good" way to prorate TNA at number 2 to WWE at number 1. There's perfectly fair levels for TNA, even rating TNA downwards to WWE, where you'd have people like Bobby Roode around the high-70s/low-80s for overness (upper mid in TNA, midcard in WWE)- but then you have people like Monty Brown/Chris Harris- equal to Roode in TNA, but who'd be in the 50s' in WWE as low midcarders. Should Roode be adjusted to his WWE stats (in the process saying only WWE guys can have high overness), or to his TNA overness. The better question- what to do for the smaller promotions than TNA's ratings. I can buy a Bobby Roode at 79 or 80- even if he'd be a little lower in the WWE, TNA is just big enough you have to be reasonable and not say "every TNA homegrown's no higher than 60, either". Plus, if TNA gets these, you have to go through "Well, then ROH should have the same factor- if, say, Bobby Roode's only a 75-80 guy, then, say, Kevin Steen should be at 50-55", and then from there, companies like Anarchy Wrestling [a fairly overrated draw-promotion] of "Well, no way anyone for Anarchy even flirts with 30 overness", and so on and so forth.
  16. Is Loyalty a 'stronger' link than Friendship? I can't remember the exact implications of either, but am I right in saying sacking a friend is a lower morale drop than a loyalty, which is lower than blood relative? Just knock a load down a tier based on Skummys logic. Using an example Bill posted in stats updates before from earlier in the thread: Of the list, going further- I'm pretty sure that Blood Relative also carries the chance that the person you don't fire will leave as well. Having said that, though, the potential "Modest Proposal" that's either completely sensible or completely insane (I never know anymore with me): From these stats, my question is: We know that if a person is "loyal" to someone, or if a person is "friends" with someone, there is no difference to what the wrestler will gain [10 points overness] or lose [25 points overness.]. The only difference is if someone's loyal to someone, they'll potentially leave the promotion over it, but if they're friends, they won't leave. However- can anyone think of two people loyal enough to each other that one would quit the company over the other one's leaving- and if not- is there even a reason that ANY Loyalty relationships are kept in the game, period? Just move any down to "Friendship" and go from there.
  17. That makes sense- but having said that. The issue for announcers has other differences. Jerry Lawler is a color commentator and part-time wrestler, so he doesn't work in the role. Having said that, though, there is a world of difference between, say, Jerry Lawler in the Wrestlers list[who is at least a part-time wrestler] and, say, Mike Adamle on the Wrestlers' list [failed announcer, spent a brief time for a couple months as GM of Raw, and will likely never appear as a GM again] who should be moved back to Announcers- or a difference between Lawler and Michael Cole [had a brief, one-off run as a in-ring competitor and will probably never appear as a wrestler again] or Don West [basically a color man who spent a brief period as manager of Amazing Red]. The announcer/wrestlers do need to be worked on for this reason- using the ring announcer argument now- BECAUSE these problems do play a distinct role in the actual game. If Howard Finkel or Tony Chimel's in the game as an announcer or production- it doesn't really effect anything in the game. However, if you put an announcer into the wrestlers' roster, then you suddenly have a genuine issue with the game's realism because now, the EWR engine means that that performer can only be used as a color commentator (and this IS a blatant problem- right now, considering that rule, none of the Raw or Smackdown commentary team would be able to used as Play-by-play announcers because of the rule [using the Lawler example and taken to its extreme- JBL, Lawler, and Cole would all fit as Non-Wrestlers, plus Josh Mathews for the next one down.] I was just using the 60 charisma point as an example. If Sofy has less information, but had higher charisma, in her example, then that' should put her on the chopping block, of course. Having said that, however, going back to Skummy's post...
  18. For this to work and to tie in to most of the thoughts for teams, the better way to do it: Have 'singles' added one month in advance to updates, but tag teams can't be added until the NEXT month's update (so, for example: If I say "Add John Doe, (STATS) to the November update, Doe would be added for the December stat update- but if I say "Add John Doe and Richard Roe, [EXP]", they'd be going for an add in the January stat update instead.) It's a slightly smaller change, but it: Holds off work for Bill, so he can focus on just immediate moves [titles, new singles guys, etc.], but it also holds off on tag teams. After one month, you don't know who's a TAG TEAM and who's two guys who just happened to tag up together- but after two months, you'll start to have a good idea who the REAL tag teams are on the list. As for experience, it also helps, because if the team's been teaming regularly enough for two months to have around 10 experience, then by that time they'll probably be worthy enough to put in the game.
  19. This leads to a better question as well for cutting down tag teams: What should be the line to constitute a new tag team being added to the game? Random "MAKE BRYAN DANIELSON [NOT! Daniel Bryan!] AND THE GIANT [NOT! The Big Show!] A TAG TEAM, THEY TEAMED ON THE RAW" teams going in for no good reason is bloating up the tag team ranks- but on the flipside, what's a good baseline to say "okay, THIS TEAM" deserves to be in the game? We know being a tag team on an episode of Raw shouldn't immediately make two people a team. But the same problem of booking realistically to the WWE leads to an equal problem finding the line. The most natural line is things like "Well, if the two teams were the tag team champions at one point, they should be in"- since WWE will regularly throw together heavyweights for a tag title win or use the "These two guys hate each other/are fighting at the next pay-per-view...BUT THEY'RE ALSO THE TAG CHAMPS TOGETHER! How can they co-exist?" angle, then you have problems like "MAKE THE PROTOTYPE [NOT! John Cena!] AND MIKE FROM THE REAL WORLD [NOT! The Miz!] A TAG TEAM, THEY WON THE TAG TITLES IN WHAT'S BEEN ACCEPTED AS A BOTCHED PINFALL KICKOUT AND HAD THE MATCH REWORKED TO LOSE A FEW MINUTES LATER!" With these in mind, to help cut the tag teams down, we should also decide what the line is for us to consider a tag team a TAG TEAM, then go from there. I know there's a few teams mentioned for the WWE list- and even teams I put on the list for TNA and ROH- that I would personally recognize as a valid tag team, but followed one of the rules said- so it's necessary to define it and then start cutting the list down.
  20. The TNA part of it, separated by the five guidelines for tag teams said in the thread: And ROH's half:
  21. Nobody is arguing against Shawn Michaels still being in the data, though. They're saying that when Giant Gonzalez is still kicking around in there, it's time to purge. I just used him as a recent example. Somebody mentioned Edge earlier (maybe not to remove him but as an example as well). Though I do agree someone like Gonzalez should be removed (especially since he passed away in 2010). Kamala could be another example as I doubt he wouldn't be used in a multi-week storyline. I think the first thing though is removing some of the relationships, then we can weed out some of the retired workers. I think maybe if a 5 year limit would be good. If they haven't wrestled or been used more than a couple times since say 2008, we could start removing them. I think this same rule could apply to tag teams, I mean there are teams like Heidenreich/Rodney Mack and Al Snow/Kane who to my knowledge haven't teamed up in years and who I think very few would even use. I have a lot of time on my hands so I could take a look at the teams that could be removed and list them here. There's currently over 4000 teams so I think this would be in order. So I think teams that have one or more of these should be removed: A) Haven't teamed together since 2008 (Al Snow and Kane) B) Have very little experience and/or were randomly thrown together (Mysterio and HBK) C) Have very little chance of ever teaming again (Bret Hart and Goldberg) D) Superstar-Diva teams (AJ and Punk) how does this sound? ofc teams like Edge and Christian, New Age Outlaws etc are safe from this one. Instead of "Haven't teamed together since 2008", I would either change it or add to the list a more useful one: E) Feature someone who's gimmick has changed dramatically enough to say it'll likely never be the same as their team (example, DZP was a regular team with Zack Ryder and Primo. Zack Ryder...and Matador Diego? Not so much.)
  22. Even if, the fact is there is a priority basis for the non-wrestlers from just the under 10s to go further with for Non-Wrestlers: roles: 1- If they work for a promotion at the moment, keep them. 2- If they don't work for a promotion, but do have Announcer ticked, keep them. 3- If they don't have announcer ticked, but are known to have had a serious run with a notable promotion at some point in the past (good catch on Winwood, mkpunk), then keep them. 4- If none of those are available, then they should be put on the chopping block.
  23. 3000 is probably excessive, but it still needs to be a decent number even if just to allow for a bit of rostering to your own style rather than just 'the ten guys I can afford'. Not to mention you need those 20/30/40 over guys as you work up the pyramid. I think applying logic to this cull would be more effort than its worth really, sounds worse than when I have to manually remove all the terrible mid 00s indie album tracks from my iTunes. Well, for one startup logic point: Using the "Ryan Wood" example- he's not a Non-Wrestler in the game [ so this example should be reprieved at the moment], but he's in at 10 over. 10 overness is a fair cutoff line to start with. Using under 10 over Non-Wrestlers in-game, you get 69 wrestlers: Anthony Franco, Axl Law, Big John O'Malley, Bino Gambino, BPA Barry, Brandon Hill, Brandon Prophet, Brian the Guppie, Brittany Summers, Caffeine Bean, Chance Romance, Cheex, Christine LeMaster, Corey Blaze, Destiny, Destiny WSU, Dino Winwood, DJ Skittlez, Dr. Hurtz, Duke Durrango, Echelon, Eric Extreme, Fire Angel, Frank Cullen, Fugo Fugo Yumeji, Fuuka, Fuyuki Takahashi, Gemini, Hiroshi Nagao, Ice Cold, Jacklyn Hyde, Jane Blond, Jay Charismo, Jenelle Sinclair, Jennifer Bancalum, Jimmy Turner, John Howarth, John Johnson, Jolly Roger, Katsuhiko Nagata, Kazunobu Nakamura, Kriss Sprules, Kristy Kiss, Lupin Matsutani, Mack Johnson, Mason Hunter, Melissa Stripes, Mike Sato, Morty Lipschitz, Naomi Susan, Raj Ghosh, Razor Rivera, Rob Dimension, Rush Margera, Ruy Batello, Shayla, Shinsuke Z Yamagasa, Smash Bradley, Sofy, Steve the Teacher, Takashi Uwano, Tara Bush, Tatsushi Yamaguchi, The Disciplinarian, Tommy Combat, Tommy Knoxville, Tyler Mane, Vince Vicallo, Wayne. Cutting down the list to find the most necessary names there: Eliminating the big ones, the ones currently working for a promotion in the game, you reprieve: Corey Blaze [ECWA], John Johnson [AW], Katsuhiko Nagata [New Japan] and Morty Lipschitz [CWFH]. Eliminate the people who have Announcer ticked [the most reasonable Non-Wrestlers to keep so they can be color commentators], you reprieve Brian the Guppie and Mack Johnson. Eliminate the people who had recognizable runs for some major, recognizable promotion at some point, you reprieve: Anthony Franco/Smash Bradley [ROH], Cheex [TNA], DJ Skittlez/Jolly Roger [CHIKARA], Ice Cold/Jacklyn Hyde/Jane Blond/The Disciplinarian [WOW], Jay Charismo [iWS], and Tyler Mane [WCW] Eliminate the person most of EWB would whine if we don't get a chance to have him clobbered in the game, we keep Kriss Sprules And if you say, "Well, we need commissioners/backstage interviewers for BY2G? Fair enough. Using a fair cutoff point of 60 charisma [reasonable for a good Non-Wrestling role] in, you can reprieve: Axl Law, BPA Barry, Brandon Prophet, Brittany Summers, Lupin Matsutani, Razor Rivera, Rush Margera, Sofy, Tara Bush, and Vince Vicallo. Take those reprieves out of the way, you're still left with 41 non-wrestling under 10-over people: Big John O'Malley, Brandon Hill, Bino Gambino, Caffeine Bean, Chance Romance, Christine LeMaster, Destiny, Destiny WSU, Dino Winwood, Dr. Hurtz, Duke Durrango, Echelon, Eric Extreme, Fire Angel, Frank Cullen, Fugo Fugo Yumeji, Fuuka, Fuyuki Takahashi, Gemini, Hiroshi Nagao, Jenelle Sinclair, Jennifer Bancalum, Jimmy Turner, John Howarth, Kazunobu Nakamura, Kristy Kiss, Mason Hunter, Melissa Stripes, Mike Sato, Naomi Susan, Raj Ghosh, Rob Dimension, Ruy Batello, Shayla, Shinsuke Z Yamagasa, Steve the Teacher, Takashi Uwano, Tatsushi Yamaguchi, Tommy Combat, Tommy Knoxville, Wayne. Wouldn't that be a fair start?
