  1. So it's late October for me now, bottom of the table with only three points (though I've been screwed by refs not calling offside and a complete fluke of an OG) and still being crippled by injuries (Forcing me to shift from a 4-1-2-1-2 to a 3-1-3-1-2 because all my right-side defenders are injured) Yet in the League Cup, I'm in the final eight. Granted my toughest task in the cup so far has been Wigan... While fighting off relegation was something I expected... Arsenal being one of the people my ascent up the table could send out of the premiership is an actual possibility makes this a bit of an exciting run.
  2. Raiden being killed off permanently, off-screen, before appearing? Or a better than 1:6 Gameplay to cutscene ratio? Or an ending that made sense?
  3. Question: Does squad registration re-open during the transfer windows? I basically signed a free agent (Guti) out of sheer convenience and want to know if he can at least contribute to the campaign. Worst case scenario, I'll have him tutor someone.
  4. "I killed my first zombie at six months old with a sharpened rattle"

  5. "I killed a Frankenberry once" "Frankenberries, like the cereal?" "Ugh, that's all just propaganda to get you to trust them!"

  6. Well to be fair, the guy who says it is a highschool student, not all of them are known for their subtlety.
  7. You can cut the opening and ending cutscenes. Hit circle (for PS3 that is) and it will trigger a prompt to skip them. I think the other scenes are there to replace loading screens (instead of installing a bunch of shit on your hard drive). As far as dialogue... I think what they're going for is part shock and part "why the fuck would you even be thinking about that after zombies were about to eat your face" absurdism with a lot of the stuff. My favorite survivor quote is the guy who tells you who his favorite president is for no apparent reason. The one thing that can be annoying combat wise is the blaster power-up. Mostly because when you draw it, it likes to aim at zombies apparently at random and not where Juliet is facing. Once you get used to it it's not so bad though.
  8. "Don't be racist against cows, Nick!"

  9. Holy fuck this game gets more awesome every chapter.
  10. Yet! There might be some costumes that resemble something Buffy would have worn. I've only unlocked one so far though.
  11. So yeah, this is pretty fucking amazing. Gameplay isn't the most innovative thing ever, pretty much hack and slash, upgradeable skills, etc. But the dialogue, storyline, and overall atmosphere makes it awesomely fun to play. "What kind of guy waterboards Chip and Dale?!" Also, the boss battles are brilliant. As are the minigames. ZOMBIE HEAD BASKETBALL!
  12. You're like a kitten! A kitten that doesn't speak Japanese!

  13. Looked like it was going to be 4-2 there.
  14. So if you make a deal with a free agent or a youth player outside of the transfer window, it doesn't go into effect until the next window opens right?
  15. "If you resist, be a dear and taser yourselves"

      brenchill

I read it as 'taste yourself.' Not good.

I read it as be a bear. Be a bear and taste yourself.

  16. So has anyone played Harley's revenge yet? First, yes you should finish the story before playing it. It doesn't give away everything but... it does spoil a couple surprises. Also, I haven't tried the main game since, but exploration is very limited in Revenge. There are hidden objects to destroy for trophyness. It's VERY short, even a casual player can finish it in one sitting. Spoilers of Harley's Revenge below, and slight spoiler of an easter egg in the main game: It's a good ride while it lasts, but well, I don't think it's worth the price they ask for. Recommended if you can get a good trade for the original in exchange for the GOTY edition, because with that version you also get a digital copy of Batman: Year One; or if you're really huge fan of either Robin or Harley Quinn. Otherwise, cross your fingers that someone puts a Let's Play of it on YouTube.
  17. Really? Where do you do this, because I've only seen those as positional roles?
  18. Currently? Neither striker is a target man. I had them both set as Complete Forwards with bias to Attack, but making them Poachers now. For the AM I've tried pretty much every role that allows a supporting style. EDIT- It probably doesn't help that one of my strikers is staggeringly mediocre except for his amazing leadership skills.
  19. Well, no. Just venting my frustration because I can't seem to figure out why my strikers are repeatedly passing to my attacking midfielder to shoot and not the other way around like I've been trying to get and I'm positive that this is the main reason why I keep losing.
  20. My second fixture, home vs QPR... and 0-2. Loss at home, but only by two. Progress! I can't figure out how to make Hoolahan (Attacking Midfielder) pass more to my strikers in tactics. I did however have a private chat with him about it, and he listened. However, when I Morison he needs to find the net sometime this season, he flipped out and wondered why I was singling him out. Well maybe because you sucked against QPR and had a fucking 5.6 rating. Perhaps my immediately demoting the last guy who played that shit into reserves didn't make an example. Meanwhile I'm downplaying creative freedom and fluidity, hopefully this will set things straight. My cup match will be a gauge for this shift in philosophy.
  21. Remember folks: Raw starts an hour early tonight

      Damian WayLNKe

Not if I set my clocks forward a hour.

    2. Owen

also remember folks: time doesn't actually change if you set your clocks forward.

  22. So first BPL match, as Norwich away to Wolves after a promising pre-season.... and lost 4-0. Goddamn. Ryan Bennett begged for a starting performance and his complete incompetence lead to them winning key headers. I'm putting him right on the transfer list and he won't be playing on the senior squad anytime soon. Ruddy is next on my shit list if he doesn't do better. Don't know what else I can possibly do to improve my side. I've got everyone playing to their strengths, using a 4-1-2-1-2 which has done well for us so far. Maybe I need to make them play more rigid, as I'm having centre midfielders shooting more than my strikers (wtf?).
