  1. Here's two players to replace Luc Robitaille, who is hardly "obscure". Lindy Ruff, probably better known today as a coach. Luke RIchardson Now, to pick-up where mr potato head left-off ... Andrew Mcbain
  2. Online World of Wrestling has a page listing referees, but I'm not sure how many female refs you're going to get out of that. I thought "Women's Extreme Wrestling" simply morphed into "Women's Erotic Wrestling", which still appears to be active.
  3. Getting this info from Wikipedia & Online World of Wrestling - Van Hammer joined in November 1997 and was kicked-out in May 1998 Lodi Sick Boy aka Scott Vick Reese aka Ron Reis - not clear exactly when he joined. Perry Saturn
  4. I don't mind seeing scenarios where people throw-in companies that have gone belly-up in the past, like WCW or even the AWA & WCCW, but so much of the backstory here makes little sense. The two things that bother me most are: If Ted Turner was going to buy a wrestling company, why wouldn't it be the one he bought before, WCW? And why would Billionaire Ted ever put any company he owns in Canada? If Paul Heyman hit the lottery, why on Earth would he team-up with Bischoff (a person Heyman doesn't seem to care much for) to buy the one wrestling promotion he hated with a passion? Is there any good reason to think Heyman wouldn't use his lottery winnings to keep ECW going?
  5. It should go 25 seasons before Fox cancels it. I can't see another network or cable company picking it up if (according to the article) the show is no longer profitable. A smaller network isn't going to make more money than Fox does off of commercials, and I doubt the actors are going to take even bigger cuts than what they're willing to give Fox just so the show can air on a smaller network for less money. What I'd like to see is for Matt Groening & Friends taking a page from Futurama's playbook, and make some direct-to-DVD Simpsons movies, or maybe another feature film or two.
  6. Scenario Name Suggestion: EWR Time Warp I'ld like to suggest leaving the entire ECW roster on open contracts since several workers (Cactus Jack, RVD, The Dudley Boyz, Taz, Mike Awesome, to name a few off the top of my head) worked for them and WCW/WWF at the same time.
  7. Stupid Question: Why not have some wrestlers on Open Contracts so they can work for multiple companies? For instance, having Hulk Hogan on an OC so that he could be on both the WWF & WCW rosters, or Terry Funk working for WCW, NWA & ECW (or wherever his best runs happened). Certainly, plenty of wrestlers had memorable runs in more than one promotion during their prime years, so using OCs would open-up options for people playing the game without them having to do some moderations to the worker files depending on what promotion they feel like playing as.
  8. I think this is a great idea, and I was even half-tempted to do something similar but simply don't have the time for it at the moment.
  9. I was interested in playing a game based in the mid-80s and downloaded both the 1985 & '86 scenarios. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I mean, $60-95,000 for guys with Overness in the 30s & 40s? So I decided, if I want something playable, I'm going to have to either do a lot of modifications or create one from scratch myself. The idea I have is to make a generic "1980s" scenario, where the exact year isn't set in stone and anyone can come along and start it out in any year they wanted to and still be rather satisfied with how it's all set-up. Would anyone be interested in something like this? Any suggestions for workers/staff/promotions?
  10. Great! I'll definitely add them in, thanks! Do you have any suggestions for ratings/risk? Off-hand, I'ld make the Ratings for Prism, MSG, SportsChannel and maybe SelecTV a 2.00 for Prime Time (other time slots adjusted accordingly) and their Risk about 61-71%. Not sure about most of them but I know that Prism wasn't against showing the occasional cage match that got a little bloody. USA & Showtime could probably get away with being the same or maybe slightly lower in Ratings as they are now in current EWR Data since they were national cable channels when they launched.
  11. Just downloaded this scenario and it looks like it should be fun to play around with. If you don't mind, I was looking at the TV Networks and had a few suggestions/comments: I feel that TBS should be changed to WTCG. WTBS (eventually just TBS) didn't become the name of the station until 1979. Fox was launched in 1986 & TNT didn't begin broadcasting until 1988, so I don't feel they really belong in a 1975 scenario, but that's just my opinion. Stations to use as possible replacements/additions: Prism - Philadelphia, PA area cable channel that started in 1976. Early-on they showed wrestling on a regular basis. SportsChannel New York - started in 1976 as a regional channel MSG - New York area cable channel that started-up in 1969 SelecTV - subscription service that started in 1976 Showtime - started broadcasting in 1976 USA Network - established in 1977
  12. I enjoyed the "World Tour" arc a lot, but dropped the book as soon as Chris Claremont took over writing.
  13. I think The Middle Eastern Kings idea was Eidgan's, not mine. I did forget to state the BWC's title, only because I never have a belt when I start a Backyard game. I usually run a tournament for a few months before deciding anything regarding a belt. And honestly, I'm pretty bad when coming-up with clever names for championships, usually just going with the fed name with "Championship" tacked-on at the end ... so "BWC Backyard Championship" is about the best I'll come-up with. Feel free to come-up with something better.

Feel free to fiddle around with any of the info I provide for these workers if you think they're unbalanced. Some of these people are coming from version 1.4 of the game, so I've had to fill-in some gaps myself. A few others were pulled off Excel files I used long ago when playing EWR, so things like Finishers and Gimmicks were missing. Sorry I can't get more specific with the "Pic Base" but I'm fairly certain that most of the pictures I use in EWR (and have for reference) don't match-up with anyone else's game.
