  1. Puke rules, you're all gay, end of story. And Bushmeister, there is nothing wrong with bodily functions for a band name. It's all up to your own perception of what you think of a band name. I'd personally check a band out called the "Vomitting Pissing Shit Eating Mother Fuckers" over the "Happy Nice Curly Blonde Head Guys".
  2. Why though? What is so bad about Puke? What is the problem with Puke? It's just a four letter word for a band name. Would you all hate Vomit, Barf, Regurgitation, Upchuck or Yak? I love it. I'm trying to figure out the anti-Puke sentiment. Like I said, it's a straight forward name, no bullshit, just Puke. We are Puke. We rock, that is all. And I think Summers might disagree with me.
  3. As Liam mentioned, "Puke" is very straight forward. Puke sounds good, it lacks any pretentious bullshit, it's not contrived, and it doesn't make the band sound like a bunch of pussies. Typically, you have to assume that a band named Puke is going to come out and rock, leaving your toes tapping and your ears satisfied. I fail to see how it's a bad band name.
  4. I like that picture, it's as if this crazy ass La Parka look alike is about to attack Jeff Jarrett from behind, but wants to give a shout out to his mom before he does so. Edit - Or is that Christian? I can't tell.
  5. Less Than Jake elicits a different reaction from me. It's not necessarily something to make me cringe, but I do know that I've never liked the name, dating back to Highschool, as it's always been a band name that stuck with me as something I was never fond of.
  6. Best: No Alternative The Controllers Dead Boys Reagan Youth Puke The Punks Bolt Thrower The Modern Lovers The Meatmen Scumfucs Jack Tragic and the Unfortunates The Gun Club Fear Destroyer 666 Axegrinder Battalion of Saints Worst: Panic! At the Disco Fallout Boy Less Than Jake New Found Glory Jimmy Eat World My Chemical Romance Cute is what we aim for Now, I'm pretty lenient with most band names, but those names listed have become ingrained in my mind as being completely fucking lame.
  7. I hate to say it, but Frank Zappa's lyrics are pretty ridiculous. I don't think awful is necessarily the correct term for his lyrics, but come on, Baby Snakes and Call Any Vegetable? He was brilliant, his music was brilliant, and his vocals went great with his music, but I just don't know if I'd call him a lyrical genius.
  8. Camera Silens - Identite This song is very catchy, and is a reason I love compilations of albums. On a whim, I decided to check out an album called "Oi, the French Collection". "French Oi? I have to check this shit out." Turns out, the album is good, and the French can produce some pretty good Oi. This song is really the best of the bunch, a very catchy song with a bit of saxophone tossed in. Skeletonwitch - Baptized In Flames I really dig the guitar work throughout the song, it's pretty much everything that is good about thrash metal. I can't say enough about this band, and I hope they venture into Detroit so that I can see them live. Sacrilege - Apartheid I think this might be my favorite band with a female vocalist. She is one of the only female's I've heard that sounds pissed off, but doesn't sound awkward doing it. Plus, I like the recording quality for this, it's pretty low-fi, but you can still hear everything that's going on. It sort of reminds me of what I would have pictured punk being before I had actually started listening to it. Anti-Cimex - Under the Sun One of the reasons why Sweden's punk scene was fucking awesome. Very pissed off, very intense, and very loud. It's what makes music enjoyable. There isn't much to go on about, nothing fancy here, just balls to the wall punk, but a bit more unique than your status quo punk rock. Destroyer 666 - Eternal Glory of War There are a few versions of this, but the one I'm referring to is from their "Phoenix Rising" album. It's a slower, bit more melodic metal song, but still brutal. I really enjoy the drum cadence in this song, there is something a bit eerie about it to me. I doubt anybody else is going to agree if they hear it for themselves, but I hear it so shut up. The Dictators - Two Tub Man AH, the lovely Dictators. This is rock and roll ladies and gentleman. These guys influenced the Ramones, and countless other punk bands, but somehow fly under a lot of music fans radars. The intro is especially great with Handsome Dick Manitoba proclaiming that he just beat "Verne Gagne and Dick the Bruiser daddy!" in his typical grandiloquent fashion. English Dogs - Ambassador of Fear One my favorite songs from one of the best bands to intertwine punk and metal. An all assault from start to finish, never missing a beat, and never failing to deliver an incredible charge of sound.
  9. It's possible Kaney, but the article did give me the impression that the whole "No playable ECW characters in story mode" was a definite. I'm definitely crossing my fingers, but I have my doubts. It annoyed me last year when Umaga, Khali, and Finlay weren't available as playable characters, so needless to say I'm astounded that they would go ahead with this decision. In case anybody didn't read the article, there's the quote from ign. I was definitely looking forward to turning the Sandman into a WWE legend. I really hate limitations in any facet of a wrestling game, but this is one of the worst kind.
  10. 19? Fucking unreal. It's typical, they announce the custom themes for wrestlers and get me excited, then they go and make a completely fucking erroneous decision such as this? Why? What is the possible thought process when thinking "Hey, let's take away the gamers freedom by limiting the number of wrestlers they can begin a career with?". How do they think this constitutes a good idea, or will win them over fans? I don't give a flying fuck if there is no voice over work for certain wrestlers, just let me do a career with whoever the fuck I want.
  11. Hey Darko, where the fuck was that kind of passion and fire when you were with the Pistons? Maybe if he had this attitude as opposed to the sulking and lackadaisical effort, he'd have not been riding the the end of the bench.
  12. I see what you're saying, but some guys are acting like the Lions are the new Patriots or something, when that fourth quarter was just an anamoly. Absolutely, the kick off return for the touchdown is rarely going to happen (especially from a tight end who isn't exactly known for his blazing speed). I think Lions fans need to keep a realistic perspective on this season, if only based on our history from years before. We need to worry about finishing .500 this year before we even begin thinking about the playoffs.
  13. And the Lions are better this year. Anything can happen. As for the Bears secondary being second stringers? Don't know what to tell you there, a win is a win, and good teams find ways to win without starters. The Bears defense was still very good for most of the game yesterday, they put a nice pass rush on Kitna for most of the game which usually masks a secondaries weaknesses. It did, until the fourth quarter, then things began to unravel for the Bears. One other thing regarding the Bears/Lions game, Griese's WR's didn't do enough to help him. There were too many dropped passes by his WR's, one of which was an INT that he shouldn't take the blame for. With the dropped passes, I was wondering if the Bears had signed Bill Schroeder and Az-Hakim. Edit - You mean a better offensive line, consistent running game, three new starters in our secondary, and two new starters in our LB corp? Yeah, we have a long way to go, with the offensive line and portions of the defense needing a lot of help. If the defense does continue to make big plays at key moments, and if our offense continues to move the ball, we should be playing meaningful games in December. Big if's, but very possible.
  14. We did beat Dallas last year in the last game of the season, so I think we could beat them again this year. It should be noted that the Lions were without Calvin Johnson on Sunday, so the game could have been much different with him in there. Even as a rookie, the guy changes the complexion of our passing game, but it also went to show our depth at WR, that we could be effective without him. With him in there though, the game could have been over much quicker than it was.
  15. Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers - Motorhead (You said you're a bit confrontational, and sort of a rock and roll comedian? Well, Motorhead is rock and roll personified, and you seem to raise hell on stage.) I wanna fuck myself - G.G. Allin (I know, this is probably too raunchy, but I do have a reason behind this. The song is very narcistic in it's approach. The lyrical content gives the impression of being self absorbed and believing that the individual is the only thing worth fucking. He himself would rather screw himself because he feels he himself is the only one worth his attention. As I said though, this is raunchy, and probably too over the top.
  16. I would get ahead of myself with the Lions. I'm glad they are 3-1, but let's look towards Washington before we dream up Super Bowl scenarios. Keep in mind we started 3-1 in 2004, granted that this is a much better team, it's still very early. And yes our offense can be explosive, but two of those touchdowns on the 34 points came from defense and special teams. The next two games worry me if only because of our droughts in the respective stadiums. I think our last win in RFK dates back to the 60s, and our last win in Lambeau was in 91. Still, those are just numbers, and this year is as good as any to break those curses.
  17. The offense can be really fun to watch when executed properly. My big gripes right now are not that our guys aren't trying hard, or making nice plays, but that we still have far too many mistakes on the field. Kitna has been playing very well, but needs to eliminate his turnovers (one fumble lost today, though more due to Backus getting beat like a drum). Tatum Bell does too much dancing instead of hitting the hole and penetrating ( ), and Roy Williams drops far too many passes for a WR of his caliber (none today, good work bud). George Foster needs to go, the dude has nearly ten false starts in four games. The defense needs a lot of help, but I will give them their due. They have been making plays, other than last weeks aberration, but the secondary and linebackers need help. All in all, I think we have a good amount of talent to work with, but I remain cautiously optimistic. I think we'll be competitive all year, but don't know if that will garner a playoff berth. Edit - Oh, and it just dawned on me that we matched last years win total already.
  18. I wish Joey played like that when he was here. Good for him though, he's a good guy and all. I wasn't a fan of him as a QB, but he's a hard guy to hate. I hope he continues to do well.
  19. Christ, I hate the god damned Bears more than any team in league. So, I feel good about this game right now, with 45 seconds left and ten point league. Stupid Bears. Edit - And that is that. I feel good knowing we have taken the Bears and Vikings down, it makes me feel a little bit better about the past, even if it's brief. And christ, the refs were getting on my fucking last nerve through the last two minutes of the game.
  20. The Lions are bi-polar. They make me bi-polar. I need to be committed after these see-saw games. By the way, that's three INT's for Griese. However, one was not his fault at all. Edit - and there goes Hester. WILL ANYBODY FIGURE OUT THAT YOU CAN'T PUT THE FUCKING BALL IN HIS HANDS!?!?!??! WHY IS THIS SUCH A FUCKING MYSTERY!?
  21. I voted other, and by voting other I'm meaning everything. When I listen to music, I'm paying attention to everything, with no specific aspect of the music in mind. There are times when certain bands have drums, guitar, bass, vocals, etc. that are worth paying closer attention to, but I don't typically listen to music intending to single out one thing. I like to just take the whole cacophony of sound blasting at me and listen to it all as one. Vocals are probably least important for me when judging a band that I enjoy. I don't really need profound lyrics with a deep meaning to enjoy a song, as along as the vocals accompanying the music sound good together. I find that vocalists that I enjoy come with the territory of having a bad ass band backing them up, and the same goes for a shitty vocalist, he's usually backed up by a shitty band.
  22. Monkey Torture - I always loved the State. We gotta get bad" - A great scene from the movie Stir Crazy The Ball - Classic Rodney Dangerfield from Caddyshack. And I'm black yall - A funny clip from the underrated movie CB4. Those are a few for now.
  23. I've been on a kick for heavier music as of late, though not all of these songs are represented by that whim. Destroyer 666 - Songs for a Devils son Skeletonwitch - Baptized in flames Camera Silens - Indentite (a French Oi band, very catchy song) English Dogs - Survival of the Fittest Jimi Hendrix - Nightbird Flying Davie Allen and the Arrows - Blue's Theme Sacrilege - Apartheid
  24. The groups I can think of are Even Worse, X-Ray Spex, The Avengers, The Alice Bag Band, Sacrilege, X, The Plasmatics, Sin 34, Bush Tetras, Destroy All Monsters, and Thee Headcoatees.
  25. Way to lay an egg defense. Stupid fucks. I have never seen a more disgraceful performance. I wish Jim Mora was our coach only because one of his rants is the only thing fit to describe the Lions performance.
