  1. Fuck yeah. Goff and Dan know no curse.
  2. The Packers always get away with some cheap trash. I fucking hate them.
  3. Yay Lions. Brian Branch is that dude. Defense balled out today, but all four of our top draft picks looked good. And wow, Miami has 70 points.

Yea, these were all written before I joined. Its good for me because its helping me explore more meodic songs. I agree with you that the first and last two are probably my favorites. If you're feeling frisky give us a follow, the lads would be geeked to find out we have a fan overseas 😀.

https://theboresdetroit.bandcamp.com/album/basement-demos?logged_in_mobile_menubar=true&search_item_id=1230618443&search_item_type=b&search_match_part=%3F&search_page_id=2846435975&search_page_no=0&search_rank=2 So we now have demos! Figure I'll post here instead of the musician thread since we're a proper band. There's 7 songs, my favorite of the bunch is Toxic Avengers. Oh and if anybody is feeling like driving to Detroit we are playing a gig I'm Corktown tomorrow night.
  7. I'm a curse. Must have left bad juju in Vegas when I left. In wonderful fucking awesome news Chauncey Gardner Johnson has a torn pec and is out indefinitely. So probably the season. So all that hype and we're now with CJGJ, James Houston for 6-8 weeks, Decker is hurt, Valais is hurt again (big fucking surprise there), Montgomery is day to day, and still sitting on Jameson Williams suspension (meanwhile guys got lighter punishment for PEDS and fighting). Yep, can't have anything nice in this fucking town.
  8. Mel Tucker is about to be fired by MSU. You probably all know the story by now. I really just wanted to note that shitbag Matt Ishbia paid 24 million of his contract. The same Ishbia that bought the Phoenix Sun's while his mortgage employees contemplate suicide and have panic attacks due to the shit pay and shit conditions. Oh and he gave a job to rapist Mateen Cleaves because nepotism. I've never been particularly invested in the MSU vs U of M thing bit MSU really has produced a lot of scuzzy people.
  9. I saw Mr. Bungle on Friday night and they ruled. The opener was a group called Battles, they were solid. Bungle was a great experience, went with a bunch of friends and had a blast. The band was really on point, and Mike Patton was a lot of fun of course.
  10. I just heard of Sweeping Promises and it's really good. I get more of a post punk vibe out of them, like Gang of Four or Bush Tetras with the deep grooving bass lines.
  11. Yeah, our defense is trash. Glenn is not a good coordinator.
  12. Well we suck again. Defense is still awful.
  13. This is actually a pretty crazy stat, but this is the first time that the Browns, Raiders, Lions, and Jaguars all started 1-0 together. It's kind of a silly stat but wild to think in the near 30 years that the Jags have been around that this has never happened.
  14. Just want to let it be known that Kerby Joseph is the last person to catch a pass from Aaron Rodgers in the NFL.
  15. Damar Hamlin is a clone confirmed.
  16. That was the grit Dan Campbell referred to. Not a pretty win, but you go in and beat the defending Super Bowl Champs at home week 1? That's nice, that's good shit pal. I will say that I didn't love Ben Johnsons play calling in certain situations and felt Gibbs needed more touches but whatever. Montgomery played as advertised, he'll be a fan favorite real quick. 4 and 2 at your own 15? Yeah fuck it, fake punt. I love this aggressive play calling, such a contrast to the previous few regimes. Hutch looked amazing, no sacks but he was constantly in the backfield. Also find it funny his dad calls him "Hutch". Just want to remind everyone that we gave up a 5th rounder to the Packers to get Brian Branch. Lol. Now I can enjoy my Sunday this week. I didn't sleep much last night.

I guess I'm in a punk band so this can go here. The two people introducing us are the drummers girlfriend and her friend, they do a pro wrestling shtick. But uh skip ahead fir music, though the promo has some funny moments (like the mom of another band yelling out "fuck you" at Sleazy Money). We perform Krewe Du Viuex and I Get By. I'm in the white shirt closest to the camera. Sound isn't all that good because it's a phone recording. But hey, it's a start!

I often forget how bad ass this band is. The stuff from Victim in Pain and Cause For Alarm are great.

Yea, Tim Armstrong is fucking gross. Not sure how he's come away fairly unscathed for grooming Brodie Dahl.
  20. There were so many good players after Lance was picked, wild. I actually really liked him as a prospect going into the draft due to his skillset but things just haven't worked out for him.
  21. Black Flag would be interesting because pf the different vocalists early on. Everything Went Black is a cool compilation of the same songs but with different vocalists (so Keith Morris, Ron Reyes, Dez Cadena, and Henry Rollins). Hey....might be another thread that this gets reviewed :). Black Flag and Dead Kennedys feature two of my all-time favorite guitar players. Both achieved such a great tone but in different ways. East Bay Ray is the twangy surf inspired sound I tried to emulate when I started playing. When I first looked for my first guitar I was hoping to find that surfy twang that East Bay Ray fused with punk and made Dead Kennedys such a damn force. Gregg Ginns distorted tone is probably the most perfect distorted guitar tone in my opinion. So yeah, if you asked my ideal guitar set up it would be those two. I think doing a look at Jello Biafras work as opposed to just DK could be more interesting due to the variety of artists he's worked with (Lard, MOJO Nixon, Melvins, D.O.A., Nomeansno, and many more).
  22. Yep, let's just start with the album right here. Will this album get a good review? Yes. Emphatically yes. This album is an important one in musical journey (lol) because the Adolescents were among the first punk bands I discovered. I think I came across them through this old P2P site called audiogalaxy through the "Similar artists" thing with other groups. I always loved this album because it's such high energy from beginning to end, well played and tight, and pure punk. I used to think of them as a hardcore band but I don't think they are. They are fast but I think there is more of an in between so called 77 style and hardcore, but they have that Orange County sorta sound to them much like Agent Orange or Wasted Youth (that kind of aggressive Skate or surf punk that still manages to have great grooves and be melodic even with the aggressive pace). The band featured iterations of the Agnew brothers (Rick, Frank, and Alfie), Casey Royer on drums (also a vocalist for D.I.), Tony Adolescent (perfect voice for a band title the Adolescents), and Steve Soto on bass. I would like to note that Rick Agnew is a brilliant guitar player, great style and great tone, a definite influence on my playing style and the sound I try to achieve. He has some very good solo work out there as well as playing bass for the early incarnation of Social Distortion and Christian Death. The entire album is a strong one and kicks off with I Hate Children. Not my favorite track of the album but kicks things into high gear and I think is a good introduction on what to expect with this album. I think most people familiar with the Adolescents will recognize the song Amoeba, and maybe others will as well as it's a fairly well known punk anthem (about scientists and such of all things). The middle of the album is probably the strongest giving us Wrecking Crew, L.A. Girl, Self Destruct, Kids of the Blackhole, No Way, Amoeba, and Word Attack. This is just a great stretch for the album, though the rest is pretty good with Democracy and Creatures standing out. I always kind of felt like I related to these songs especially stuff like Creatures, Kids of the Black Hole, and No Way. Being a weird kid growing up, this stuff sorta spoke to me because I could identify with being an oddball. These songs sort of made me feel like it was ok to be me and be a bit off the beaten path. My favorite three on this album are Kids of the Blackhole (a great tune and could be argued is actually the better choice for an "anthem"), No Way, and L.A. Girl. So yeah, I think very highly of this album. I posted the whole thing because it's worth featuring, probably would put this in my top ten, and maybe even top five all time favorite albums. Next time we will look at the debut album of a hard, funky grunge band from the early 90s.
  23. Thank fuck we signed Teddy Bridgewater. Sudfeld has been atrocious.
