  1. I mean kicker could be a weak spot for us, seems pretty natural.
  2. Sheamus was at the Lions minicamp over the weekend and there's been some cool videos of him and Lions players interacting. Kind of neat seeing Sheamus and Dan Campbell bullshitting. Also taught Amon Ra St Brown a collar an elbow tie up, as if the WR wasn't already dangerous.
  3. He was actually more diverse of an actor than people realize. His filmography is pretty interesting. I seem to remember him being pretty good in Blow.

    The Punk Thread

I was supposed to see them in June....:( but missed it due to circumstances outside my control. Hope he heals up ok. I came here to post this band... G.L.O.S.S. They kick ass, came across them after listening to Limp Wrist, there was a recommended playlist for Queercore. There was a lot of really cool groups on the list I'm still going through but this really stuck out to me. "G.L.O.S.S. (Girls Living Outside Society's Shit) was a trans-feminist hardcore punk band based out of Olympia, Washington.[1] The group formed in 2014 and consisted of members Corey Evans (drums), Sadie "Switchblade" Smith (vocals), Jake Bison (guitar), Tannrr Hainsworth (guitar), and Julaya Antolin (bass guitar)." Unfortunately, they've already disbanded after releasing two brilliant demos/eps.
  5. Damn, thought I had already reviewed the Sound of Music. At this rate I'll finish this thread in about 400 years. ' I posted that video because I've always quite liked it. You get Viva La Revolution and then the best song from Sound of Music, Joker in the Pack. I find the video endearing because you have the band playing Crickett with some kids and the live event these dudes put on looks like a lot of fun. Fun is probably the best descriptor for the Adicts and this album in general. I prefer the debut album but this is also a strong entry from them, kicks in with high energy and really doesn't let up. One of my kids favorite songs is on this one is Chinese Takeaway, and it's a song about wanting Chinese Takeaway. It's silly, basically listing different types of takeaway food "Went to the fish shop, went to the burger shop, didn't have a lot of stuff". The album really doesn't let up, it'd be a good punk "party" album. I don't think it needs much more critical analysis beyond that, I'd say start with Joker in the Pack and go from there on this one. Top three tracks on this are Joker in the Packer, Chinese Takeaway, and Johnny Was a Soldier. Next up is the Adicts again, and the album is Smart Alex. So I'm gonna do that one right now because 1. I've been slacking and 2. I've got probably over 400 pieces of vinyl to go through, I don't think every album will really need a deep critical analysis. I honestly bought this album because I like the Adicts and I probably found it cheap somewhere. I don't even remember when or where I bought it from. It's not bad but you can tell it's one of those albums where a band tries to deviate from their core sound and depending on your mileage, it's not bad or you hate it. It's a decent album, a few good songs on this one like Smart Alex, Tokyo (This one actually feels like it could be a Stranglers song with its bass work), and Troubador (which those songs 3 songs are in a row so I mean there ya go). Ok great, next album is one I'll have a lot to say about. The Adolecents self titled.
  6. He tweeted out that he's fine. Not as bad as initially feared.
  7. Damn, feel like I'm spamming and shit. But hey new Digital Snake Oil content. I'll also get around to posting some stuff from the band I'm in as well. https://digitalsnakeoil.bandcamp.com/track/boogieman-blues
  8. This is why I was a little baffled about Pistons fans losing their minds that we "wasted" our cap space on Joe Harris. He's not an exciting acquisition but he's on an expiring deal. The Pistons really shouldn't be giving stupid contracts to any of these "big" names on the market this year. Not to say Kuzma, Grant, Johnson, etc. are bad players, but I'm not sure the Pistons need to be committing big money to guys already 27+ years old that probably wont move the needle. Harris is a fantastic shooter and I think makes sense to use him in a role to see how our young players develop. This allows Cade, Jaden Ivey, Duren, Thompson, Stewart, etc to develop on their own but giving them a floor spacer. It could be a for better or for worse situation but if it is a for worse situation, Kyle Kuzma isn't solving that.
  9. Well damn, yeah I think I will wait for a price drop on this. I think this could be fun with my kids if it does double as a party game but probably don't want to spend full price.
  10. Lol at the Lions having glory years.
  11. So we ended up taking one of the twins, but I'm actually glad it's the twin with a better jump shot. I wanted Hendricks but I can understand if you want to swing for the fences with Thompson due to his athleticism. Still, a line up of Duran, Hendricks, Bojan, Ivey, and Cunningham would have been nice. Oh well. I liked the Marcus Sasser pick. There was some criticism or low draft grades with it, but the dude looks like a dog to me. Very good spot up shooter, good three point shooter, and a bulldog on defense. We need every bit of that, even if dude is only 6'1 or so he can still make an impact from the bench.
  12. He looks like an evil comic book villain or something. Also, Aubrey Edwards wtf. I don't know, I thought some of the gameplay looked fun there is definitely some awkwardness going on. Even if the reviews are good I'm probably going to hold off on buying this one.
  13. That's the logo from 60s, which possibly was done by a child. But yeah its to honor history. Kind of like when the Steelers wear the ugly throwbacks.
  14. So after the initial disappointment of the Pistons falling to 5 I am curious about what they do. I've seen rumors of moving back, and even one ridiculous trade scenario that has us sending Bogdonavic, Burks, and 5 for Gordon Hayward and 2. Which is absurd to think the Hornets would take veterans (albeit solid ones) for the number 2. If we stick at 5 I hope we take Taylor Hendricks. I honestly know fuck all about college or the other two leagues but a 40% 3 point shooter that can play defense, and is only 19? What's the mystery here? I don't like the Thompson twins and their awful shooting. Though I think I'd go with Ausar since he seems to have a better chance to improve his jump shot. Cam Whitmore seems like a good fit but is he another Saddiq Bey? Jarace Walker seeks to be a sentimental favorite because he's most reminiscent of the hard nosed Pistons players of years past (but is he too similar to Isiah Stewart?). Tyler Black? Sounds like another Killian Hayes, hard pass.
  15. Ya, I had grand ambitions for WWE 2k22 to create a shit load of original CAWs. The attire is easy enough, but the move sets are just completely overwhelming. Getting into combos and shit, forget it. It's great to have that option available but I just can't justify spending hours deciding which of the 22 super kicks is just right.
  16. I guess at the time I was only exposed to Smackdown and No Mercy type games. Smackdown felt fast and wild to me where No Mercy felt more deliberate and more like a simulation to me.
  17. The mini games did look kind of fun, not gonna lie. Curious though, wasn't No Mercy more of a down to Earth simulation as opposed to arcadey? I mean I've played them and that was the vibe I got, so is this going to be a No Mercy reinvented for 2023 but also with an arcadey vibe? Down to earth but swarming with magic robots if you will.
  18. I bought the My Singing Monsters party for the kids. It's a lot of fun, very similar to Mario Party. We had a blast playing together.
  19. Hard Knocks asked the Lions if we wanted to run it back this year. Obviously said no thanks, but I admit I'm slightly disappointed.
  20. Yea, I'm already thinking about a re-watch. I actually watched season 1 in 2017 or so. I forget what I was streaming with at the time but didn't pick back up until this year. Kind of glad I did since I can't always find stuff to watch. I ended up buying Homicide and Corner which David Simon wrote prior to the Wire, so excited to read those. Also started watching We Own This City. John Bernthal in a David Simon mini series? Count me in. Also plenty of actors from the Wire in this one.
  21. I've created a separate account for my more electronic and dancey numbers on bandcamp. Here's what I've been working on a bit lately. https://digitalsnakeoil.bandcamp.com/track/none-of-a-kind
  22. I've finished the series, unreal. Utterly fantastic show, among my all-time favorites. I'll add thoughts in spoilers in case somebody new happens upon the show. Now I'm going to read this thread.
  23. https://theathletic.com/4575688/2023/06/05/nfl-gambling-policy-player-suspensions/?source=emp_shared_article Well according to these dudes the rules are a little janky. Dan Campbell also sort of alluded to the NFL not doing a great job of educating the players. That article might be paywalled...
  24. Edit....nevermind read two posts incorrectly. Anyway, I got nothing. I'm becoming less of an NBA watch but still glad to see LA and Boston get eliminated. And Phoenix. I hope Butler gets a ring because it would be such a unique legacy. Denver...whatever. Actually I should be rooting for Jokic seeing as he made Ishbia look stupid. Sorry Butler
