  1. ^ That's kinda nuts, I'd still watch that shit though probably. Meanwhile, Michael Rooker was at Emerald City Comic Con and I got to see half of his Q&A session. He is fucking hilarious. And I get this too, and maybe the way it was shot was the most cinematic, it got what it needed to across. I don't know why it came off so bad to me, I just didn't feel it. And then the walk to the window, looking out towards the prison. Totally get it, didn't really buy it.
  2. I found myself really enjoying tonight's episode, despite the things i've said. I think part of my problem is that this is the only season I've sat down to watch as it's aired on televison, I caught the first two seasons on a dvd/ripped from the internet combo sort of thing. I can't bring myself to sit through commerical breaks and wait a week for 45 minutes of new content and be on the edge of my seat the way most everybody is with this show, that I know, so I get sucked in to watching it with friends and family and what not. I had four whole seasons of Breaking Bad to junk out on available to me when I started watching that and it was great.
  3. Oh I'm definitely a fan, I'll still watch. It was just one of those things I remember being excited about for the people involved and the second season fell a little flat for me. The actors are top notch and whatnot, I enjoy their performances, and obviously the way AMC handled the show was bogus to me. I just feel like the writers could do more for the characters, some things don't work for me, but that's me I guess.
  4. I agree with you on that, it's kind of overdone. Though it is a reference to the Tom Waits song "A Sweet Little Bullet From A Pretty Blue Gun" from Blue Valentine. I think I could see the arguement that the music is also conventional, indie garage rock stuff but I may just like them as people too and that's making me a bit biased. I don't know. I like it though.
  5. Is there anyone else disappointed in this show now? The first season opened dramatically, had Darabont's visual style, it looked big. I've only read a handful of the comics, so it's nothing to do with that. I just feel like from the second season onward has been a let down to some degree. Second season was nothing but whining, and the third season isn't much better in my opinion. It's almost like I can feel the bad writing, I mean for a zombie television show that's also character driven and a drama, you expect some of that and a little B-movie cheese, but sometimes it's almost unbearable, ironic or not. I think keeping Shane alive and writing him into Woodbury with the Governor and Andrea would have been far more interesting, especially with the baby and Lori dying and everything. I had a lot of high hopes for the show and it's not really coming off how I expected it. It's all new to me at this point though since I haven't made it to after the prison in the comics.
  6. Anybody from Texas going to this in April? I may or may not be making it, I'm only really interested in seeing Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Black Angels, and a friend's band from South Africa, playing their first American show. Good stuff.
