Chelsea's hack in this context is to have players out for so long that you literally have no way of telling if they'd be good starters or not. I'm still not convinced that Lavia is a real person.

Yeah, the only options atm for night are occasional Koromaru walks and, if you've got their SL started, random book-reading/cooking/etc. activities with said person will get you one measly note. Oh, if you haven't got the trophy for earning 50k at part-time jobs yet, that's at least *something* you can work towards at night... I hear legend of the dodgy-URL guy selling one that lets you boost SLs on the PC in the very late game, but if true then it must be close to the end. Speaking of SLs, I have been forced to get organised: Still don't think I have enough time for them all though.

I'm literally ignoring the new Shinji not-technically-a-social-link content because I'm like "no, that will waste a vital After School time slot that I must instead dedicate to humouring Fuuka's bad cooking and/or Kenji's nonsense." I have become the worst person.

Crunching the numbers, I'm fairly certainly it's physically impossible for me to now max all Social Links (this was probably always the case, but I strive for the dream nonetheless). It's mid-September and I have c.90 ranks across all the daytime SLs still to do - which probably is more days than are left once you take out those used for Full Moons, Exams, Trips, Other Story Faff, etc. I'LL STILL TRY, DAMN IT.

At least he has the good grace to raise his red flags immediately. The Hermit arcana spends 5 or 6 levels being fairly harmless/hilarious before she earns her ticket to jail.

I've read people try to argue that some of the P3 SLs being utterly unpleasant human beings is intentional, because the game is trying to say something about how your time is valuable and you need to choose to spend it with the right people...or some such bollocks. I don't buy it for a second.

I don't think it's easy to track the 'notes' you receive against this because they don't always represent the exact number of points you get for different activities - but nonetheless, an indication of how much harder Academics is...! Seems like both you and I have accrued about 320pts. 😆

Yeah but Academics needs so many more points than the other two. Your 6Ac/4Ch/4Co is probably about the same number of points as my 5Ac/6Ch/5Co.

A criticism of P3's pacing (that I also had of the original): It winds me up no end that you get in the swing of the game and THEN the months of July and August are just endless roadblocks to all the social link and other stuff you want to get done. "Oh it's exams. Okay now a holiday. Okay now you're training for a poxy running event than basically robs you of a whole week just to find one new SL. Okay now you're doing summer school. FUCK OFF." Not to mention that the stupid way that school SLs vanish in the holidays (AND pre-exam weeks), so some 2/3 of then are unavailable even when you *do* have days to do what you want. Ugh. At least I managed to get my stats up to 6/5/5 (maxed one is Charm) in the interim.

I've already made peace with having to do a NG+ to see some of this side content. Like, I'm sure cooking with whoever is fun dialogue and such, but getting a poxy HP item out of it when I could be building my stats? Gtfo.

Somehow in the same week I have convinced (/bullied) both my boss and a guy in my team to try the Persona franchise. Got them both started on P5R. Only feedback so far from one of them is "played half an hour and it's very narrative/cut scene driven, which I'm not used to at all". I opted to merely nod silently rather than tell him to strap in for 80 more hours of the same. 😅

Fucking hell. I've put 30 hours in over the past 7 days and I thought that was a lot. 😅 I'm up to July 11th. Speaking of which...

Basically that. You won't believe the number of streamers who are like "oh, a new type of enemy...... let's start with Sukunda", or "my person with the right element isn't up yet...... so I'll just blow SP on a random magic attack with this other person first". I think beyond that I otherwise default to physical weapon attacks a LOT more than the norm (even persona physical attacks cost SP indirectly from the need to heal spent HP, after all). You also have to be careful to spread the SP cost where possible. Usually it's the MC who's prone to run out first because he has all the element types, so I make sure that if another party member can do it, they do. (Sometimes though circumstances are different. I just played a section where Mitsuru was running lowest because there were a lot of ice-weak enemies.) Finally, I'm not shy of using those "deal 50 damage of this element to every enemy" items if the SP cost would otherwise be prohibitive. There were a few floors where I'd get encounters of 5x light-weak enemies and I only had Kouha, not Makouha. Saving 20 SP at the expense of one item is lovely.

I admit... I watch Twitch streams of other people playing Persona games, and almost every time I am triggered by less-than-perfectly-economic use of SP. It really annoys me to see. 😂 I can only presume that my first bad experience of an SP shortage (Kamoshida's Palace, circa 2017) traumatised me in ways I did not fully appreciate.

If I go into Tartarus I'm not leaving until I've absolutely run out of SP, damn it!
