  1. Is there any way to run more leagues after you've started a game? Turns out the one star the game gave me for running time is actually rather nippy and now I've got an urge to manage in the MLS at some point in this save.
  2. I have no issue with Battery being unavailable, that song's totally fudging impossible and I couldn't actually complete RB2 on Hard because of it
  3. 1. Metal Gear Solid 2. Tetris 3. Final Fantasy VII 4. Championship Manager 01/02 5. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 6. Rock Band 2 7. Mario Kart Double Dash 8. Pro Evolution Soccer 6 9. WWE SmackDown!: Here Comes The Pain 10. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
  4. Genuinely the only time I've ever cried at TV
  5. Keys Of Traken, I believe. Peter Davison's first story. The regeneration limit is first mentioned in the Tom Baker story The Deadly Assassin, where it's explained how the Master had used up all of his. Peter Davison's first story was called Castrovalva, and there's no such story as 'Keys of Traken,' methinks you're getting The Keys of Marinus (William Hartnell) and The Keeper of Traken (Tom Baker) mixed up. Sorry, being a bit of a DW Nazi there. I find the idea of the Doctor being immortal like Jack quite unappealing. It's alright for comers-and-goers like Jack who can serve as a plot device, but having an immortal lead kinda rapes any story of its dramatic potential. Plus, I for one would love to see, in ten or so years' time, the Thirteenth Doctor facing the inevitability of his final death, and having to explain to his companion that there's no regeneration this time. He would, of course, regenerate in the end, giving us a nice mystery to pursue in the following series.
  6. Where does everybody get their CAWs from? CAWs.ws is the only dedicated website I can find. SvR09 is the first wrestling game I've owned in a good few years but I'm sure there used to be tons back in the PS2 days, and CAWs.ws is rubbish - the links either take you nowhere or to some ads.
  7. Interesting. I'm not going to make any sort of judgment on the guy as I'm sure Moffat knows what he's doing. I hope they do something with his hair as it's a bit similar to Tennant's. But I can certainly see what they mean about him having a Doctorish look.
  8. The new Doctor wouldn't start filming until July and I'm fairly sure the next series of Survivors is shot before then, so he probably could film it if it were him. I'm 50% sure it's going to be Joseph, 40% sure it's going to be Chiwetel Ejiofor, and 10% on somebody completely unexpected. I'm enjoying speculating though.
  9. Doctor Who Confidential: The Eleventh Doctor, tomorrow, 17:35, BBC ONE Suffice to say, I'm counting down the hours.
  10. Repeated viewings often change my opinion of an episode, but I didn't think that was particularly decent. I was intrigued by the Morrissey character until he got infodumped, solved and ditched midway through to concentrate on the Cyber-plot, which I didn't really get at all and didn't particularly interest me. Lovely to see the old Doctors though.
  11. Wow. Sad to see RTD go, but what a replacement - I know it's a fanboy's dream, but I never saw it happening, what with Moffat's career going places (the Tintin movie). This is going to be great.
  12. Is there any news on the long-rumoured FFVII PS3 remake? 'cause it would be lovely.
  13. Apparently you can move your GK before the kick is taken, but I haven't yet figured out how.
  14. I'm very happy with this so far. Don't seem to have as big a problem with framerate as others do, and it looks gorgeous. Started a ML with NEC Nijmegen on Pro and am 5th after 12 or so games, with the games being just the right side of challenging - I imagine I'd end up throwing the PS3 out the window on Top Player. The only gripe I have is how much they took out of the edit mode - if we're to only be able to have scanning and not create our own sponsors and emblems, then surely the PS3 is capable of holding more than 8 kits?
  15. 1) Deathly Hallows 2) Goblet of Fire 3) Half-Blood Prince 4) Prisoner of Azkaban 5) Order of the Phoenix 6) Philosopher's Stone 7) Chamber of Secrets PoA is a quality book, only missing out on a higher spot because it lacks the real horror of DH (all the death), GoF (Voldemort's return) and HBP (Dumbledore's death). It's got the tightest plot of the lot - everything that happens in the book happens for a reason, and comes to play in the final act. It's brilliant.
  16. My God, that was incredible. Breathtaking. Superb. John Simm is the Master! Can't wait for next week.
  17. Bang on. Tomb is wicked, and Troughton is also my favourite Doctor. Can't wait to see what you think of the DVDs we share, especially The Movie, which I personally think gets a slightly raw deal from a lot of fandom.
  18. My mate's brother bought Pro Evo 6 a couple of days early and came in as me and my friend were playing 5 like the lesser mortals we were, all cocky. We stuck that on and he played his brother first and proceeded to absolutely slaughter him, 6 or 7-0. He then beat the other brother (my mate) 4-0. He's got a reputation as being the best Pro Evo player in town, and I'd never beaten him before, but I took him on, going with a frighteningly attacking 3-2-5 formation. 2-0 down at half time, I won 7-2. Fucking glorious. Also, on Football Manager 2007 keeping Sheffield United in the Premiership on the last day of the season, coming from 3-1 down to win 4-3. I was providing commentary (don't we all), and it went "Howard's come out - oh, Horsfield's tackled him - NADE! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Yup. Good times.
  19. My Sheffield United team have to be the single most inconsistent team ever. We're currently 6th in the Premiership after a fantastic start, but now we've gotten into some poor form. When we win, we win easily, but when we go 1-0 down, their heads go down - when I lose, I get absolutely hammered. Recent defeats include 8-0 at Arsenal, and 5-0 and 7-1 at HOME to Newcastle and Portsmouth respectively. I've got Pennant coming in on loan from Liverpool, and have experienced talents such as Veron and Zanetti at my disposal but I can't put a decent run together - any tips?
  20. Hour and a half? I bet your levels are really low...
  21. Who makes the frigging fixture lists? First four games of the season are Tottenham, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool - the four Champions League teams. I could've got a point against Chelsea had Paul Ifill not skied it with an open goal in front of him and Paddy Kenny hadn't decided to run a mile out and get himself tackled by Lampard. So much for a good start to the season.
  22. YUSS! Kept Sheffield United up on the last day after coming from 3-1 down to beat Everton 4-3. This was at about 3 this morning and I jumped up and screamed when Geoff Horsfield poked in the winner. Wednesday got promoted from the Championship so I've got a derby to look forward to this season. I've fucked myself over with transfers - I went a bit crazy with Bosmans, got a couple of decent players I now see that most of them aren't going to work (Russell Latapy ) and I'm over the wage budget so I've been unable to sign Kieron Dyer, David Bentley or Fabio Rochemback. GHEY. I also got a touchline ban so I just had to sit and watch us get battered 4-0 by Wigan. I thought it was cool.
