Quarterback Geno Smith is expected to sign with the Seattle Seahawks, a source told ESPN's Jordan Raanan. The Seahawks will be Smith's fourth team in four seasons. In Seattle, Smith will compete with former Denver Broncos first-round pick Paxton Lynch for the backup job behind starter Russell Wilson.

My sympathies to Seahawks fans.

Also, if you don't believe in the conspiracy against Kaepernick, Geno Smith being signed to a team should make you reconsider your opinion on it now.

Yeah, Kaepernick really messed up taking a huge settlement that was worth way more money than he lost from not being allowed to continue his career.  He would've been much better off racking up an enormous amount of legal fees to fight a court battle against the NFL in a justice system that overwhelmingly favors big business.

Geno Smith's career numbers through his first 4 seasons look very similar to Drew Brees' through his first 4 seasons.

Obviously it's a stretch to say Geno would have turned into Brees but he also happened to be a starting QB on some truly dreadful teams so it's hard to gauge, and now at this point it's too late. He's a great insurance policy signing for a team like Seattle though. He's never been as awful as people make him out to be, it's not like he's Nathan Peterman.

Not to pile on the poor Cards fans among us but Patrick Peterson just got popped for PEDs and will be suspended the first 6 games next year

Brilliant. He's been angling for a trade for nearly a year, at least he's done this early on so we don't get our hopes up about him this season.

Budda Baker can just run our secondary on his own this year, why not.

Saints receiver Ted Ginn Jr has issued an open challenge to race anyone for $10,000 or more.

His challenge is being accepted by 18 year old sprinter Matthew Boling who is making news for having run a time that would be more seen at the Olympics over a highschool track meet.
