MLB 2019

In what has become an annual tradition, MLB is once again banning the Mets from wearing first responder caps on 9/11.  They’re allowed to wear them during batting practice but then an MLB rep goes around and confiscates them from all of the players and coaches.

Strange hill Joe Torre continues to want to die on.  He’s questioned about it every year and he compares it to the caps everyone wears on the 4th of July or other holidays that are observed leaguewide.  Either every team has to do it or nobody can do it at all.

That's beyond stupid. In the NFL teams have specialized unique patches for all kinds of shit. Granted a helmet is bigger than a ball cap, but baseball is too often too beholden to tradition.

But then the Astros got to wear Apollo 11 hats this year and no one batted an eye. It really sucks that every year the Mets get banned from doing this.

Dellin Betances spent the entire season rehabbing a shoulder injury.  He finally made his season debut on Sunday, striking out two Blue Jays and celebrated with a little hop off the mound.

Torn Achilles, season over.

The ol' Kendry Morales manuever

I guess all those guys who get made about people who celebrate too much were right.
