2019 College Football Thread

I was trying to explain to my wife the ranking system and the playoffs and how everything works and I just ended up confusing myself. None of it makes sense. Only thing I can think of is that the Utes were winning by an average if 14 points per game and the other teams weren't? I don't know. It was a good season, however, and I'm excited for the future.

Their methodology is a lot less analytical than the BCS. In fact they should plug in all that data that went into the BCS in the Committee and have it count for like half of their vote. That way if a team is manipulating BCS-style scoring by running up the score, or if a team wins a tight game to a bad team on the road that's only close due to fluke conditions (usually weather) they can correct it. But as of now we're counting on them watching every game and that's just too much to ask.

One nice thing now is that Oklahoma-Baylor is effectively a play-in game.
