NBA 2019-2020 Season

Recommended Posts

Meanwhile Enes Kanter, someone who is directly affected by speaking up against an oppressive regime, has not backed down in his own convictions and is quickly overtaking everyone as the NBA is destroying its image as woke social justice defenders.

And who has expertly used LeBron's use of an MLK quote to highlight the sheer hypocrisy of what is going on.

So yeah, it just... sucks that LeBron chooses to basically tell Morey to 'shut up and dribble' and show that his quest to become a billionaire weighs more heavily than his own cultivated image of being politically outspoken.

It's clear that ultimately, money weighs heavier on their minds than making any sort of political change happen. Or at least, it's easy to score karma shitting on Trump and his supporters because those people don't affect the NBA's bottom line, whilst stepping on China's oversized toes does significantly affect that bottom line.

Anybody wanting to do some predictions before the season starts tonight?

Personally, I think the championship is going to be won by somebody surprising (76ers, Nuggets, Jazz). Ginnias will repeat as MVP and get DPOY. Joe Ingles will be sixth man. Clippers won't do as good as everybody things, getting bounced early in the playoffs. Lakers and Rockets both fail to gel and barely sneak into the playoffs. Bucks run away in the East.

It's never too early to drink when you're a Knicks fan.

Well beating Kyrie Irving and some other guys the Nets by one point in OT away from home is a hell of a dramatic way to start the season.

But Kyrie scored 50 points! Isn't he such a great player?

DeAndre Ayton is facing a 25 game suspension for a violation of the leagues anti-drug policy. Apparently he was using something to mask something in his pee.

Raps / Boston having a hell of a game right now.

I might be wrong about the Raps this season, they might make the playoffs playing the way they are. Spicy P and Lowry have 60 points by themselves.

Boston also crazy fun right now. Kemba is a much better fit for this team, especially with so many scorers for him to pass to in Tatum, Hayward and Jaylen. He himself is a walking bucket.

Raptors were always gonna be fine. They have a ton of depth and just enough talent at the top. Just extremely well-run from top-to-bottom.

They're not championship caliber now but they're certainly gonna have a say in who does get there.

Yea, Raptors weren't in any danger of not making the playoffs. Could even make another finals run, depending on how good the Bucks and Celtics turn out.

Just how good is Luka Doncic?

The Raps are a good team, the East is just crazy deep right now.

Trae Young is so fucking good. Magic / Hawks having a super fun game ending right now.

THAT LAST DRIVE BY DEMAR. GO SPURS GO.

The Jazz barely escape Phoneix with a win last night and, man, Mike Conley might just be the worse player in the NBA right now.

RJ is really good! Maybe the Knicks found their gem and won't screw it up? *wishful thinking*

Ja Morant is brilliant! I'm a day or so late to say that, but yeah. Brilliant!

Also, we really won that by the skin of our teeth. How we let Dame, one of the best shooters and clutch players in the league, attempt 4 threes in the last minute is beyond me. The last one nearly went in too, he was so unlucky.

Figured since the first big move of the off season just happened and with the draft tomorrow, it would be ok to start a new season thread.
The Hornets have agreed to trade Dwight Howard to the Nets for Timothy Mozgov.

Couldn't find a thread for this coming season, so.
I need help. It appears the League Pass option where I could pay relatively little and choose any 8 games a month is gone (boooo). And I don't want to pay £25 a month. So the £15 option is to pick a single team. Thing is I've never really settled on a team to follow/support. So I need to choose a team that's going to be an entertaining watch this year, plenty of exciting/close games. I'd also rather not watch the top few teams spend half the season dominating their opponents.
So who would people advise I consider?
I've thought about the Thunder but not a huge fan of Westbrook, same for the Rockets and Harden. I thought about the Bucks but Giannis doesn't reason enough on his own. Hell, I've considered LAL for the freakin' circus show of it all this year but I just can't.
So who EWB? Who? Please help. Who's going to be a fun team to watch this year?

Kyrie Irving is the standard edition cover star, DeMar DeRozan is the Canadian edition cover star and Shaq is on the standard and gold Legend editions.

MyGM and MyLeague news from Senior Producer
MyLeague is my favorite mode in the 2K games, so adding a story + G-League and new CBA stuff like supermax deals has me pretty hyped.
