Well that was a pretty terrible call on the Pats no TD,  but those were two terrible phantom tripping calls when they played the Cowboys so fuck em

I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles lose out the rest of the way. To go along with just not being a very good football team, they have no WRs left at this point.

I'm expecting Clifford Franklin to get a phone call tomorrow for a try out

The New England Patriots acknowledged that their production crew inappropriately filmed the field and sideline during Sunday's game between the Bengals and Browns in Cleveland and accepted full responsibility in a statement released Monday night.

The crew was credentialed by the Browns to shoot video for a Patriots web series called "Do Your Job," but the Patriots did not inform the Bengals or the NFL, which they called "an unintended oversight."

"The sole purpose of the filming was to provide an illustration of an advance scout at work on the road," the Patriots statement read. "There was no intention of using footage for any other purpose."

The Patriots also said the production crew, which included independent contractors who shot the video, is not part of New England's football operation.

The NFL has not yet issued a comment, but a source told ESPN's Dan Graziano that the league has a copy of the video and is investigating the incident.

News of the incident first broke when, at Bengals coach Zac Taylor's news conference Monday, longtime Bengals radio analyst Dave Lapham asked the coach about rumors that the Patriots had a videographer in the press box who was taping the sideline. Taylor said he was aware of the incident and that the league was investigating.

Sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini that a Bengals employee flagged media relations and Bengals security staff after observing a videographer shooting the sidelines.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick told WEEI earlier Monday that the team's football operations has nothing to do with the production side and that their scouts know the rules about what you can't film at games.

"They 100% know. All of our scouts, all of our video people and everything, they know what that is," Belichick said. "Again, I have nothing to do with the TV production shows and stuff like that. I have no idea what they do. Or what their projects are and everything else.

"As I understand it, they were videotaping him, trying to show kind of what an advance scout does, or something Iike that, I don't know. You'll have to wait to see the show I guess and see how it's presented."

In 2007, the Patriots were punished by the NFL for videotaping the New York Jets' defensive playcalls on the sideline during a 2007 game at Giants Stadium, won by New England 38-14. The Patriots were forced to forfeit their first-round draft pick in 2008, and coach Bill Belichick was fined the maximum amount of $500,000. The Patriots also were ordered to pay $250,000 for the scandal, which was dubbed "Spygate" by the media.

The Patriots (10-3) visit the Bengals (1-12) on Sunday.

With yesterday's loss, Eli Manning has now fallen to a sub-.500 record in his career along with being 10-21 all time against the Eagles.

The MNF crew were talking about how he's still a no doubt HOFer and I just don't see it.  I'll always be thankful for the rings, but the number of times in his career where he felt like a legitimate top tier QB are low.  He's had a few years where he felt solidly in the top 10, never in the top 5.  He gets credit for being able to stay on the field, look at how quick Daniel Jones and other young QBs got hurt.  At the same time, loads of QBs nowadays could've racked up those same numbers if their teams gave them a 15 year leash despite the team's results.

The older writers who vote will still probably lobby for him because they believe the rings are enough.  But there are more and more younger, analytical voters joining the panel and I just don't see him having enough support by the time he's eligible.  I could see him being a yearly finalist though, would love to be a fly on the wall for those debates.

It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Regular Season Statistics. He's a two-time Super Bowl MVP and toppled the 18-0 Patriots. His throw to Manningham in the Super Bowl is one of the greatest throws of all time.

Was Eli one of the best QBs ever? No way. But he's Hall of Fame worthy. If Aikman got in, then Eli gets in.

Saints have had some very blatant, legit penalties called against them but after last year their fans go ballistic over every call.  Everything is a screwjob against them

It’s making me want to root against New Orleans by default.

The one with the hit to the head of the opponent as he was going down (I can't remember the specific player) was legit, but a really unfortunate one to take as a defender. Also, the punt/pass interference issue was probably a rule that most fans weren't aware of, so felt hard done by. It looked like it should have been a foul, and could have been a holding call, even though it wasn't.

I can understand people getting annoyed if fans get up in arms at ever call, but those in particular were two where it begins to feel like the officials are against you, again, even though they weren't. If you hadn't had those issues previously, you probably just let them go without too much comment.

Really?  The Bengals?  They do know they're the worst team in the league.  Why Spygate on them?

I think it’s about the thrill of voyeurism at this point

How many QBs have won 3 or more Super Bowls?

Eli will go in because statistically he’s close to Fran Tarkenton, with the difference being he has two Super Bowl wins, including a legendary one.

I'm agreeing with Aikman going in for his achievements. I was saying Eli's achievements are similar. Two Super Bowls one of which was legendary and the the other one he carried the Giants to.

Also the real reason for spying on the Bengals is likely that they have a new head coach and the Pats wanted to learn his signals.  Because they are terrible cheaters.

Mostly in the sense that they constantly get caught.
