And when he finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
Crushed out his cigarette
And faded off to sleep
And somewhere in the darkness
The gambler he broke even
But in his final words
I found an ace that I could keep

One of my earliest childhood memories was listening to Kenny Rogers songs with my parents. Gotta give credit at his longevity, one of the most famous country music stars of the past 40 years, a true legend. He will be missed.

Everyone knows The Gambler but this is my favorite Kenny Rogers song.

Yes, this right here is my favorite Kenny song. He had an amazing voice and much like Johnny Cash, even if people didn't like country music, they usually enjoyed Kenny.

Coward of the County was one of the first songs I ever knew. It took me until I was an adult to actual realize what is actually going on in that song when three guys "take turns" at Becky.
