World Wrestling Entertainment 2005

(From the 2005 Draft Lottery)

(No real backstory here, as such. No major staff or roster changes to begin with. I'm just starting from the 2005 Draft Lottery (6th June) and going on from there. I will keep current storylines going until I feel they've run their course. No need for me to post the roster, as it's the same as the current WWE one. This is my first TEW diary... and, well, my first proper TEW game (:P), so feel free to post comments, criticism, helpful pointers and whatnot.)

WWE RAW Preview

June 6th, 2005

The 2005 Draft Lottery begins this Monday and Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel guest will be the very first draftee. Who will it be? All we can do at the moment is guess, but we'll find out this Monday!

Also on RAW this week is the contract signing of the WWE Vengeance main event - a Hell In A Cell match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H v Batista 3 will be made official, but will they be able to wait until Vengeance?

How will Kane react to Lita flushing her wedding ring down the toilet last week? Will he unleash his anger, or will he again be despondent?

We also expect more news on ECW One Night Stand, as Bischoff gathers his anti-ECW army.

Don't miss RAW this Monday night!

Segment 1: The Highlight Reel

(8 Minutes)

The show opened up as usual with the RAW theme and video. Then Chris Jericho made his way down to the ring, which was set up for The Highlight Reel. After some impressive pyro, Jericho got down to business. Even he didn't know who he would be interviewing. After a long pause we heard the lyrics 'I lie, I cheat, I steal.' A ripple of boos echoed around the arena as Eddie Guerrero appeared to reveal himself as the first pick in the 2005 Draft Lottery. Eddie looked uninterested and slowly approached the ring, sneering at the fans. Jericho welcomed Eddie to RAW, and then began to question him about the recent events between he and Rey Mysterio. Guerrero seemed to come alive at this point and started ranting about Rey Mysterio and how he would end him, no matter what brand the two were on. Guerrero then turned to Jericho and started taunting him - laughing at his recent run of form and commenting that like Fozzy, Jericho 'sucks'. Guerrero then blindsided Y2J and beat him down with punches and kicks. He threw over the stools in the set before turning his back and leaving Jericho down in the ring.

Segment 2: The Hurricane, Rosey & Christy Hemme w/Stacy Keibler vs. The Heart Throbs & Victoria

(15 Minutes)

The first match of the night got under way with The Hurricane locking up with Romeo. Hurricane was quickly isolated by the The Heart Throbs and was worn down by numerous double teams. After some verbal encouragement from the crowd and his team mates, however, Hurricane battled back, taking out the Heart Throbs with a double clothesline. He was then able to tag in Rosey who cleared the ring. Christy then begged for the tag and got it. Victoria tagged herself in, but was barely through the ropes as Christy pounced on her, smashing her head into the mat multiple times. The referee was able to restrain Christy for a moment, and Victoria took the time to take a breather outside the ring. As the referee tried to seperate a brawl between Hurricane, Rosey and The Heart Throbs, Victoria snuck back into the ring with a tag team title belt. Despite Stacy's warnings, Christy turned round to have the title wrapped around her skull by Victoria. Victoria disposed of the belt and then urged the referee into the ring to make the 3 count.

Segment 4: Val Venis vs. Chris Masters

(9 Minutes)

After Venis' failed attempt to break the Master Lock last week due to Masters' unsporting tactics, Venis was given a match to exact some revenge upon Masters. He started off the bout well, taking it to Masters with all sorts of power moves. One particular sidewalk slam got Val a 2 and a half count. Venis took too long going for the Money Shot though, and collided with the mat when attempting the move. Masters fought back and rattled Val with a sledge-fist to the chest. He followed it up with the Master Lock, which Val was once again unable to break. The referee had to stop the match when Venis lost conciousness while in the hold. After the bell was rung, Masters celebrated the victory in the ring.

Winner: Chris Masters

Segment 5: Batista/Triple H Video

(8 Minutes)

Overall Rating = 88.2%

Segment 6: Vengeance Contract Signing

(7 Minutes)

Eric Bischoff made his way down to the ring, which had been decorated with a red mat, a table covered by a black cloth, and two chairs. Bischoff talked about the next RAW pay-per-view being Vengeance on June 26th and how it would be far greater than ECW's One Night Stand. He then introduced the 10-time World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H. The Game walked confidently to the ring and gave a short speech about how he's made a career of ending careers inside the cell. Bischoff then introduced the World Heavyweight Champion, Batista. Batista also gave a short speech, his being about how he's not afraid of Triple H or the cell. Bischoff then handed a pen to Triple H and asked him to sign, which he did. He then slid the contract over to Batista, grinning. Batista also signed the contract at Bischoff's request. Triple H then told Batista that he'd just ruined his own career by agreeing to this match and spoke of how they will both go to hell, and that The Game would be the only one coming back. Batista just stared piercingly at Triple H, until The Game left the ring.

Overall Rating = 86.1%

Segment 7: ECW Rules Tag Team Match

Chris Benoit & Tajiri vs. Christian & Tyson Tomko

(17 Minutes)

As part of Eric Bischoff's anti-ECW army, Christian and Tomko set out to obliterate Benoit and Tajiri so that they couldn't even make it to One Night Stand. Things went to plan for them to begin with, managing to isolate Tajiri and even waffle him with three trash can shots. Tajiri was able to kick a trash can into Tomko's head and then make the tag to Benoit. Benoit rushed in and cleaned house with German suplexes. Tajiri then brought two kendo sticks into the ring, handing one to Benoit. Stereo kendo stick hits followed, as Christian and his his problem solver got nailed with the weapons. Benoit locked Christian in a Sharpshooter and Tajiri delivered a brutal kick to Christian's head. Captain Charisma smacked the mat, tapping out, and awarding Benoit and Tajiri the victory.

Benoit managed to lock the Problem Solver in the Crossface for a moment before Gene Snitsky arrived and broke up the hold. Benoit was planted from behind by Christian with the Unprettier. Tomko and Snitsky then grabbed tables from underneath the ring and set them up side-by-side in the ring. At Christian's command, Snitsky and Tomko powerbombed Benoit and Tajiri through the tables simultaneously. The Anti-ECW army stood tall over the lifeless bodies of Tajiri and Benoit.

Overall Rating = 75.4%

Segment 9: Challenge for Vengeance

(4 Minutes)

Simon Dean made his way to the ring, kit bag in hand, and began to do warm-ups. Seconds later the stage was lit with fire as Kane made his way to the ring. Just as the match was about to get under way, Edge turned up, microphone in hand. Kane looked on angrily as Edge challenged him to a match at Vengeance. Edge smirked as Simon Dean attacked Kane from behind.

Overall Rating = 70.6%

Segment 10: Kane vs. Simon Dean

(10 Minutes)

Simon Dean gained an early advantage in the match by attacking Kane before the bell had been rung. Kane quickly battled back, though, sending Dean over the top rope and to the floor. Edge watched the match from the ramp, and at numerous times proved a distraction to Kane. Kane seemed to be more focused on Edge than Dean. As Edge began to walk down the ramp towards the ring, the referee got out of the ring to try and get Edge away. Kane looked on and Simon Dean took the opportunity to deliver a low blow to Kane. He then grabbed some white powder from his kit bag and threw it in Kane's face, blinding the monster. Dean capitalised with a DDT, but could only get a 2 count. After seemlingly getting rid of most of the powder from his face, Kane was able to wallop Dean with a devastating big boot, which he followed up with not one, but two Chokeslams, giving him the victory. Edge and Kane locked sights as the announcer named Kane the winner.

When Kane came into view, however, he ignored Maria and just walked past, leaving Maria looking disheartened.

Overall Rating = 61.9%

Segment 12: E-C-W!

(6 Minutes)

We switched backstage scenes and saw Christian and Tyson Tomko, two members of Eric Bischoff's anti-ECW army, talking backstage. Christian was saying how ECW sucked and that this Sunday they would end ECW once and for all, Tomko nodding in agreement all the time. Then out of nowhere Tomko got hit by a kendo stick. He went down, holding his head as Christian looked in shock at a person off-screen and shouted "You!?". The camera turned to see Tommy Dreamer holding the kendo stick, a big grin on his face. The camera swivelled back to see Christian and Stevie Richards walking up behind him with a trash can. Stevie put the trash can on Christian and Dreamer smashed the can multiple times with the kendo stick. Christian fell to the floor as Dreamer and Richards high-fived and made a quick getaway.

Overall Rating = 71.1%

Segment 13: Guerrero's First Match

We were then taken into Bischoff's office to see Eddie Guerrero walking in. He shook hands with Bischoff who was smiling. Bischoff said he's very happy with RAW's first draft pick and had decided to give Eddie his first match next week. It will be Eddie Guerrero versus Chris Jericho. Eddie showed no emotion, he just sneered at Bischoff and left.

Overall Rating = 83.4%

Segment 14: Main Event - WWE Intercontinental Championship

Shelton Benjamin © vs. Muhammad Hassan w/Khosrow Daivari

(15 Minutes)

The main event of the evening was a thrilling encounter between two great athletes. Daivari proved to be the key figure in the early-going, distracting Shelton and even tripping him up at one point. Hassan took advantage and took control of the match, wrapping Benjamin up in a headlock and also a dragon sleeper. Shelton battled back with the crowd on his side, delivering a powerful body slam to Hassan and knocking Daivari off of the apron. Hassan managed to hault Shelton's momentum with a fierce elbow. Daivari then slid the Intercontinental title belt into the ring and went to distract the referee. Benjamin ducked the belt shot, though, and took out Hassan with the Dragon Whip. Benjamin then went for the T-Bone Suplex, but Hassan elbowed out of the move and drove his foot into Benjamin's groin, right in front of the referee. The referee had no choice but to call for the bell, disqualifying Hassan. Shelton was announced as the winner, but he was quickly attacked by Hassan and Daivari. Benjamin was taken out by Hassan's modified STO and then locked in the Camel Clutch. The show went off the air with Shelton yelling out in pain.

WWE Releases Trish Stratus!

June 7th, 2005

The WWE have released multi-time Women's Champion Trish Stratus. Apparently the WWE has no future plans for Trish and they have nothing for the character to do. There have been no talks to renew the contract and Stratus has left the WWE on bad terms. It's unlikely she will return.

Trish Stratus Not Released

June 7th, 2005

Reports from other wrestling websites have announced that the WWE have released Trish Stratus. These are unreliable sources and the story is untrue. We can reveal that Stratus' contract did run out the other day, though, and she is currently in contract negotiations with the WWE to get a new contract sorted as soon as possible. This does not affect TV as she's currently sidelined by a wrist injury anyway. The situation is interesting as she is still recognised as the WWE Women's Champion. We'll keep you posted.

Woah, this looks interesting. I'm glad Eddie Guerrero moved to RAW instead of John Cena, and it looks like an Eddie/Jericho feud is going to take place which is always good. I'm suprised that Paul Heyman didn't show up to promote ONS but Stevie Richards on the show is a big plus. Also, I would of thought the contract signing would be the Main Event unless there was an IC title change which there wasn't. Hopefully, Hassan will get the belt soon and Shelton can be pushed into some bigger matches, like against Edge for example.

The wrestling rumours are origional and I'm glad Trish isn't going as you would have a vacant title and even less women challenging for it. The graphics are excellent and split things up so it's eaiser to read. I predict Christian as Long's first pick.

Looks like I'll be tuning into Smackdown. (Y)

(Thanks for the comments  . VKM, I would have made the contract signing the main event if, say, a big brawl were to happen. It passed without anything like that though, and I thought it would have been a bit of a boring note to end the show on. Well, boring compared to Shelton screaming for his life.)

Segment 1: Smackdown!'s First Pick

(5 Minutes)

We were welcomed briefly to Smackdown! by Michael Cole and Tazz, as Theodore Long was approaching the ring. Long said that Smackdown!'s first pick in the Draft Lottery is as big as RAW's was the other night. He also said that his pick needed no introduction. We then heard "IF YOU SMELL... WHAT THE ROCK... IS COOKING." The crowd went ballistic and gave the People's Champion a standing ovation. Rock made his way to the ring and met Long, who had a huge smile on his face. Michael Cole and Tazz were speechless. Rock said that "Finally, The Rock has come back to Smackdown!" Using his usual catch phrases, Rock adressed the Smackdown! fans, saying how good it was to be back.

Segment 2: Smackdown!'s First Pick ...continued.

(6 Minutes)

The Rock was interrupted by JBL, who walked to the ring with his Cabinet. JBL spoke of how he was champion for longer than anybody else in a decade, including The Rock. He stated that Smackdown! was not Rock's show, it was his. That's why he has his Cabinet, because he's important enough to have one. He also said that The Rock was a nobody, a has-been. Rock took great offense at this and reiterated Kurt Angle's remarks a while ago, calling JBL 'bucko'. He said that JBL had a Cabinet because he's a coward. Rock asked JBL if he thought he was a greater champion than The Rock was, but before JBL could finish his response, he was interrupted by "It doesn't matter what you think!" Rock told JBL to take his Cabinet and get out of his ring, unless they wished for a 'whooping of their candy asses'. JBL sneered and backed away as Orlando and the Bashams attacked Rock. Despite the clear disadvantage, The Rock fought back from the three-on-one, sending Doug and Orlando over the top rope with punches and hitting Danny Basham with the Rock Bottom. Rock's music played as he posed on the turnbuckles for the fans. JBL and his Cabinet backed away down the aisle.

Segment 3: Charlie Haas w/Hardcore Holly vs. Joey Mercury w/Melina, Johnny Nitro

(10 Minutes)

This match began with Charlie Haas gaining the upper hand. He took Mercury down with 3 arm drags in quick succession and then used a standing dropkick, right out of Hardcore Holly's playbook. The tide turned soon, though, when Haas was tripped up by Johnny Nitro. Mercury took advantage and applied a rear chin lock as Hardcore Holly chased Nitro and Melina around the ring. Haas was then worn down by Mercury's offense which included a power slam, two snap suplexes and a short arm scissors. Haas fought back, driving Mercury chest first into the corner and following up with a clothesline to the back of the head. Moments later Haas lifted Mercury from the top rope and drove him to the mat with a superplex. the two got up and exchanged punches. Haas rocked Mercury with a knee lift but he was then distracted by Melina who was up on the apron, showing off her body. Haas stared for a moment or two and Mercury took the opportunity to roll him up from behind, holding the tights to get a 3 count. MNM made a speedy get-away as Haas and Holly chased them out of the ring.

Winner: Joey Mercury

Segment 4: Past Versus Present

(8 Minutes)

We went backstage to see John Cena standing in front of a blue background. Cena made a speech about how he and Big Show beat Carlito and Matt Morgan last week. He also spoke about being the champion, his 'Chain-Gang' and his album. Then Cena turned to the side and smiled. The camera moved over and The Rock walked into the scene to cheers from the crowd. The Rock told Cena how he admires what he's done and that he's proved to be a good champion so far. But there was one thing The Rock wanted to find out. Was Cena good enough to beat 'The Great One'? Cena chuckled and suggested they find out tonight. Rock agreed and raised his eyebrow as Cena said 'A-Ha!' and walked away.

Overall Rating = 90.8%

Segment 5: Eddie Versus Rey Video

(4 Minutes)

A video was played to highlight the key moments in the Eddie Guerrero versus Rey Mysterio feud that had been tearing apart Smackdown!. It finished by showing Guerrero being picked by RAW and telling everybody that he would end Mysterio, no matter what brand he was on.

Overall Rating = 84.2%

Segment 6: Mysterio Interview

(7 Minutes)

Rey Mysterio made his way to the ring, without the 619 cam and without his usual lively tactics. He did climb the turnbuckles for the fans, though. Tazz awaited Rey in the ring. Tazz asked Mysterio firstly about his thoughts on Eddie Guerrero being drafted to RAW. His comments were similar to Eddie's, saying that their rivalry is far from over despite being on seperate brands. Mysterio also said that he would love to be drafted to RAW, not to disrespect Smackdown!, but just to get his hands on Guerrero.

Overall Rating = 82.4%

Segment 7: Heidenreich vs. Akio

Overall Rating = 90.6%

Segment 9: Funaki vs. Carlito Caribbean Cool w/Matt Morgan

(7 Minutes)

Carlito got most of the offense in this match after he had shook off the initial surprise of Funaki's brief offensive flurry, which took Carlito down following a stiff enziguri which got Funaki a 2 count. Carlito battled back, punishing Funaki by locking him in the tree of woe in the corner and delivering hard body kicks. As the referee tried to pull Carlito away, Carlito's big backup Matt Morgan pulled Funaki's head back while he was still tied up. Carlito then went to hit Funaki with a big elbow, but instead he knocked out the referee by accident. Matt Morgan then put the finishing touches on Funaki, crushing him with his Suplex STO. Carlito revived the referee and got the 3 count.

Big Show then made his way out to the ring after Carlito, but Carlito ran, leaving Morgan to take care of Show. Big Show took care of Morgan though, nailing him with a big boot and then with a huge Chokeslam. Carlito backed away down the aisle, in shock at what Show did to Morgan.

Overall Rating: 83.8%

Segment 13: Booker T w/Sharmell vs. Kurt Angle

(16 Minutes)

The match started with Kurt Angle licking his lips at Sharmell. Booker immediately attacked Kurt then and the bell was rung. This match was a fierce, intense encounter, both men throwing plenty of punches and kicks. The brawl broke out to the outside as Kurt stalked Sharmell, but was superkicked in the jaw by Booker. The action returned to the ring where Booker attempted his Scissors Kick, but Angle moved and drilled the Bookman with a German suplex. Angle then choked Booker multiple times using the ropes, his hands and his feet. Booker tried to get Angle with the Book End, but Angle reversed and picked the ankle of Booker T. Booker made it to the ropes, but Kurt reapplied the hold in the center of the ring. Booker eventually managed to break the hold by wriggling out and kicking Kurt away... into the referee. Kurt took Booker down again with the Angle Slam before pointing at Sharmell and grabbing a chair from ringside. Angle returned to the ring and swung the chair at Booker's head, but Booker ducked and his ankle gave way, making him fall to the mat. Angle raised the chair again, but Sharmell got onto the apron and pulled the chair away from Kurt. Booker then tried a roll-up as the referee came to, but only got 2. Booker again went for the Scissors Kick, but his ankle gave way again, and Kurt locked the Ankle Lock in again, using a leg grapevine to keep Booker in the middle of the ring. Booker had no choice but to tap.

Segment 15: We Want Tables!

(7 Minutes)

'ages'. He commented that he doesn't think there is anybody in the locker room who is good enough to face, let alone beat, Orlando for the title. At that point, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley ambushed Orlando, coming out from the crowd. They had brought a table with them, and put Orlando through it with the Dudley Death Drop. An ECW chant started up in the crowd as the Dudleyz left through the crowd.

Segment 16: Main Event - Non Title

John Cena vs. The Rock

(21 Minutes)

In a battle of former champion versus current champion, The Rock took on John Cena in a non-title main event. The match was an exciting one, with Cena battling out of the Rock Bottom early on and The Rock managing to avoid an F-U attempt. The Rock took control soon after, suplexing Cena hard to the mat. A sharpshooter attempt nearly got The Rock the victory, but Cena just managed to reach the ropes. Cena came back, taking out Rock with a spinning out powerbomb and then hitting the Five Knuckle Shuffle. As Cena 'pumped it up' a Cena chant started around the arena. Cena nailed Rock with the F-U, but only got a 2 count as The Rock's ring savvy showed by getting his foot on the bottom rope. The Rock then hit a spinebuster out of nowhere and stood above the fallen Cena as the crowd went wild. He threw his elbow pad into the crowd, ran to both ropes and... missed the People's Elbow. Cena was able to roll out of the way. Cena charged at Rock, but Rock scouted it and flapjacked Cena onto the top turnbuckle. Cena hit the corner post head-first and fell out of the ring. As the referee's count got to 9, Cena crawled slowly back into the ring, blood running profusely down his face. The referee checked on him, but Cena refused to quit. The Rock then locked on a sleeper, Cena's blood trickling down his arm. The referee decided there was too much blood, and Cena could not continue. The match was awarded to The Rock.

After the bell was rung, Rock helped Cena to his feet and they both shook hands. EMTs were quick to arrive and bandage up Cena.

Well, firstly I like the graphics alot.

Now, the diary. I enjoyed Raw. Eddie going to Raw seems a bit out of the blue but it was good enough to create some big storylines later, if you play your cards right. The rest of Raw was sub-par giving us HHH/Batista and some ECW Hype.

Up to SD! Rock coming back happens in most diaries but this could be used for something interesting so it's not a bad thing and it also gives you tons of charisma in the main event. Other then that it gave us some more storyline development that we already see in WWE.

Overall I think you've started on the right foot and the writing style that you present fits you well and gets your point across. I'm looking forward to see your PPV's and to see you start to create some of your own storylines. Which you'll easily be able to soon after you get the current stuff rolling.

Unrest in the WWE Locker Room?

June 12th, 2005

Our sources have revealed that some workers in the WWE locker room are unhappy, either with their current pushes, gimmicks, or contracts. It's been said, that Mark Jindrak has discussed his future with WWE and his current push. We think he has reason to be displeased with his current position, seeing as how the WWE have confused us over the last couple of weeks - is he a face or a heel? Let's hope they can sort him out soon.

I have a question and a comment about the ECW PPV.

1. Will you be doing prediction contests?

and...

I'm a bit upset at the way your using Velocity to book ECW Hype. It got in two segments on Velocity and only 1 on SD!

I think you needed to hype this pay per view better...hopefully you can pull something out off with what you gave it.

I have a question and a comment about the ECW PPV.

1. Will you be doing prediction contests?

No, I will not be doing a prediction contest for ECW One Night Stand, but I will probably do some for future pay-per-views. The reason being that ONS isn't a WWE pay-per-view really, and I'm doing a WWE diary. I will report on ONS, even though it won't be as detailed as future WWE PPVs.

There probably would have been more hype for the PPV if it was to be a major thing in my diary. It isn't, though, as I'm concentrating on WWE and want to develop WWE storylines as much as I can.

Very good diary so far, keep it up! Very realistic, the rumours are also what one would expect. Just wondering whether we'll be seeing Viscera in any "Pimping" action like he does on current WWE TV?

Thanks for the comments, it's appreciated. All you Viscera fans will just have to wait and see what the big guy will do. I can reveal that he will be in 'action'(take that how you want :P ) on the next RAW.

(If I get things wrong in this report, such as wrestlers' finishers when they were in ECW, or if I portray a character slightly off, then my apologies as I'm not an ECW buff, so I can't get everything spot on.)

ECW One Night Stand

June 12th, 2005

Live on Pay-Per-View

From the Hammerstein Ballroom, NY

ECW One Night Stand opened up with a video showing lots of ECW highlights, from it's very beginning to it's demise. Famous action footage was shown including Tommy Dreamer's chair shot to Raven in the cage, Dudley Boyz putting people through flaming tables, the crowd throwing chairs into the ring, Tommy Dreamer in the crowd as an 'ECW' chant was yelled and much more.

Paul Heyman then made his way out to the ring. Heyman received a huge ovation from the crowd. He spoke about ECW, it's history and what was in store for the crowd tonight. He then joined Mick Foley for commentary.

Lance Storm w/Dawn Marie def. Chris Jericho

Before the match, Storm grabbed a microphone and spoke about ECW and told a couple of memories. Jericho came out once Storm was done talking and the match got underway. This contest was an athletic one, both men pulling off some incredible moves. Jericho locked Storm in the Walls Of Jericho early on, but Storm was able to uniquely reverse it and tie Jericho up in a single-leg crab. Jericho would not submit, though. The battle continued with Storm nailing Jericho with a steel chair. Dawn Marie proved to be a distraction late on in the match, attracting Jericho's attention. This gave Storm the opportunity to finish off Jericho, which he did with the Canadian Maple Leaf. Jericho got revenge after the match, wrapping up Dawn Marie in the Walls Of Jericho.

Tommy Dreamer then made an appearance. He spoke fondly of ECW and told a few memories. He also got the crowd pumped up for his match later on with Rhino against the Dudleyz.

Hollywood Nova def. Kid Kash

Nova was accompanied to the ring by his BWO stable mates Big Stevie Cool and The Blue Guy. This match was a quick-paced affair, the highlight of the early going being Kash's flying hurricanrana to Nova onto a chair. Nova brought a table into the ring late on, but his attempts to put his opponent through it were thwarted. Big Stevie Cool then entered the ring, charging at Kash, but Kash scouted it and spinebustered Stevie through the table. Nova then came from behind and delivered the Kyptonite Krunch to get the pinfall.

Yoshihiro Tajiri def. Little Guido, Super Crazy

This bout was a three-way high-flying dazzler. Guido hit a plancha onto both of his opponents early in the match. Tajiri tried an asai moonsault soon after onto both men, but there was no one home on the attempt, and Tajiri went crashing into the guard rail. Guido and Tajiri then fought into the crowd. Super Crazy entered the ring and springboarded from the top rope, leaping into the crowd onto both opponents. Later on in the match, Little Guido introduced a kendo stick which he ran rampant with, taking out Tajiri and Crazy with multiple shots. It was Tajiri who picked up the win in the end, though, spraying both his opponents with mist and then kicking a trash can into Super Crazy's head to get the 3 count.

Rob Van Dam made his return to pay-per-view to a huge reaction from the crowd. Van Dam reminisced of his ECW days and said that ECW would never die, it would stay in people's hearts and heads forever.

Rey Mysterio def. Psychosis

In another high-flying match-up, Rey Mysterio was able to overcome Psychosis. Psychosis started off well, connecting with a flip over the top rope to the outside onto Mysterio, and also a leg drop on the guard rail. Mysterio came back with a chair shot and then made his way back into the ring before flipping over the corner post to Psychosis on the outside. Psychosis rocked Mysterio with a guillotine leg drop, but could only get a 2 counts. Mysterio then knocked Psychosis down and placed a chair on his head before waffling him with a springboard leg drop, onto the chair. That was enough for the 3.

Taz then arrived, much to the crowd's delight. Taz spoke of his days as ECW World Champion and about some of the matches he'd been in. He also mentioned how unique the ECW atmosphere was and how well the fans connected with it. Taz then issued an open challenge which was answered by Spike Dudley.

Taz def. Spike Dudley

Spike bravely answered Taz's open challenge and took it to him in the early parts of the match. Spike went for an Acid Drop to the outside, but Taz threw him off onto the concrete below. Taz then upped the tempo, throwing Spike around the ring and suplexing him out of his boots. A German release suplex, then a t-bone suplex, then a capture suplex. Spike reached under the ring and pulled out a glove wrapped in barbed wire. As Taz went to reach outside the ring for Spike, Spike clocked Taz one with the glove. Spike entered the ring again and clawed away at Taz's head with the barbed wire glove. Taz managed to hit a belly-to-belly suplex and then he picked up the glove and dug it into Spike's forehead. Spike was soon spilling blood and when locked in the Tazmission, he had no choice but to tap out.

Chris Benoit made his way down to the ring and voiced his love for the ECW. He recalled some old matches and then introduced a special guest referee for his match tonight - Dean Malenko.

Chris Benoit def. Eddie Guerrero

Dean Malenko was the special guest referee for this match and shook hands with both competitors before the match. Benoit and Guerrero began with a technical style, both going for headlocks and takedowns and both were reversed quite a few times. After being taken down 3 times in a row by Eddie, Benoit began to headutt Guerrero repeatedly. Benoit began to bleed from the headbutts as he put the hurt on Eddie with some hard punches. Eddie battled back, nearly snapping Benoit in half with a vicious backbreaker. Eddie then tried to hit Benoit with a chair, but the attempt was reversed into the Crossface, which Guerrero was able to slither out of. Benoit recovered to deliver some German suplexes, and then he went up top. Guerrero slyly got hold of the chair used earlier and as Benoit came down, Eddie replaced himself with the chair, busting Benoit open even more. Guerrero then went up top for the Frog Splash, but Benoit used Eddie's trick, and Eddie went abdomen-first into the chair. Benoit immediately locked Guerrero in the Crossface, forcing him to tap out. The two shook hands after the match and raised their arms with Malenko to the ECW crowd, saluting them.

The Dudley Boyz would then appear, to an absolutely massive ovation. They also remembered the ECW days and said that to do things the right way, tonight's main event was now an elimination tables match.

Dudley Boyz def. Tommy Dreamer & Rhino

The first elimination in the tables main event came after a while of brawling, chair shots and kendo stick hits. D-Von Dudley reversed the Dreamer Driver and put Dreamer through a table with a back drop. D-Von was the next one to be eliminated as he bounced up from the Dreamer DDT onto a table in the corner, which he was Gored through by Rhino. Spike Dudley then returned to the ring and took out Rhino with the Acid Drop. Spike then took Dreamer out with a chair shot. The Dudleyz then set up a table in the middle of the ring and Spike set it alight - to the crowd's delight. Bubba then powerbombed Rhino through the flaming table, giving the Dudleyz the victory.

As promised, the WWE crusaders did make an appearance at One Night Stand. Led by Eric Bischoff, the Crusaders jumped the ring taking out all three Dudleyz, Rhino and Dreamer. Then the locker room seemingly emptied with ECW stars and a huge brawl erupted in the ring. The WWE guys were sent packing quickly as chairs, kendo sticks and barbed wire were introduced to the brawl. As the ring emptied we were able to see Rhino Gore the life out of Christian, The Dudleyz 3D JBL and even Taz make Kurt Angle pass out with the Tazmission. The ring was emptied of WWE wrestlers and the ECW contingent stood tall, weapons raised in the air. A final chant of 'E-C-W!' rang through the arena as the pay-per-view came to an end.

One Night Stand Early Success

June 13th, 2005

Last night's ECW One Night Stand has initially received good numbers in the way of ratings, although the total buy rate is unknown at this point. There is disappointment at the chosen commentating team of Paul Heyman and Mick Foley, many fans would have loved to have been listening to Joey Styles' commentary. The DVD of ECW One Night Stand is planned for release this fall.

WWE RAW Preview

June 13th, 2005

Eddie Guerrero was the first pick in the 2005 Draft Lottery last Monday night. Who will RAW's second pick be? Tune into RAW this Monday to find out!

Speaking of Eddie, his antics last week, attacking Chris Jericho led to him being booked in a match against Y2J this week. Jericho will be out for revenge, it should be an intense match-up.

What condition will Christy Hemme be in this week, if she can appear on RAW at all? Last week Victoria used a tag team title belt to take out Christy, we'll get an update on Christy's condition this week.

Will Kane have an answer for Edge to his challenge for Vengeance? We'll have to wait and see.

We left RAW last week with Muhammad Hassan putting the damage to Shelton via the Camel Clutch. Shelton will want some payback, but will he get it?

We'll also see Triple H in action as he gets ready for his Hell In A Cell match at Vengeance with Batista.

Don't miss RAW this Monday night!

Confirmed Matches:

Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrero

Good One Night Stand for what you presented...I hope to see the ratings/buy rates at another time :)

I like the way you booked things but it's obvious that it was just thrown together and not planned out like a WWE PPV you put on would be.

I'm looking forward to Raw and too see who the second pick is...my prediction is....The Undertaker.

Yeah, as I said before I didn't want to do a full report on ECW One Night Stand, but I did try to put something together. The overall rating/buy rate will be posted via 'Wrestling-Unplugged.com' later, as hopefully, will RAW.

Overall Rating = 83.5%

Segment 2: The Game's Vengeance 'Warm-Up'

(7 Minutes)

Triple H made his way down to the ring, much to the dismay of the crowd. The Game got on the microphone, speaking about the World Heavyweight Championship and how it belongs to him. He also said he would do anything to regain the title, and if that meant beating the life out his former protogeé, then that's what he would do. He then issued an open challenge to the locker room to face him in a 'Vengeance Warm-Up' match. The challenge was answered by Smackdown!'s Hardcore Holly, who grabbed a microphone and announced himself as the second RAW pick of the Draft Lottery.

Overall Rating = 77.6%

Segment 3: Hardcore Holly vs. Triple H

(12 Minutes)

Triple H initially laughed at Holly for accepting The Game's challenge, but he was soon shut up with a stiff clothesline from Hardcore. Holly took the fight to Triple H, landing numerous punches in the corner and following it up with a big back body drop. A big boot later and Triple H rolled to the outside for a breather. At this point, Ric Flair jogged down to ringside, distracting Holly. The Game took his chance and attacked Holly from behind. Triple H took control from here, wearing Hardcore Holly down. Holly managed to reverse a powerbomb attempt into the Alabama Slam, but did not have enough in him to capitalise. The referee reached a count of 8 before both men were back up. They exchanged blows and Triple H was taken down with a hard right hand. Holly ascended the turnbuckles as The Game stood up. Triple H then pulled the referee across the ring, distracting him while Flair climbed up on the apron and rocked Holly with a low blow. Hardcore fell from the top rope and staggered straight into a Pedigree before being pinned to the mat for the 3.

After the match Flair and Triple H began to put the boots to Holly. Despite Holly's attempts to battle back, the double team was too much to overcome. The Game set him up for another Pedigree, but just then Batista's music hit and the World Heavyweight Champion ran down to the ring, sending Triple H and Ric Flair running. The Nature Boy and Triple H backed away up the ramp as Batista stared them down from the ring.

Winner: Triple H

Match Reaction = 76.5%

Match Quality = 62.7%

Overall Rating = 76.1%

Segment 4: Tag Team Revenge

(6 Minutes)

Backstage we saw Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari storm into General Manager Eric Bischoff's office. Bischoff said he was not happy, especially since the 'Crusaders' failed to destroy ECW the night previously. Hassan then demanded a rematch for the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Shelton Benjamin tonight. Bischoff refused, saying that that match would be better off at a pay-per-view - Vengeance to be exact. Bischoff then told Hassan and Daivari they would be in tag team action tonight, facing Shelton Benjamin and his partner... HBK Shawn Michaels!

Overall Rating = 78.0%

Segment 5: Christy's Condition

(5 Minutes)

Christy Hemme then appeared on the screen, joining us live via satellite. Jerry Lawler was in the ring and he asked Christy how she was doing after Victoria's title belt shot to her last week. Christy said she was doing alright and that she would be back on RAW next week looking for some 'vengeance'.

Overall Rating: 38.2%

Segment 6: Don't P*** Off The Big Man

(1 Minute)

Viscera made his way down to ringside, receiving a big cheer from the crowd. He approached Lilian Garcia at the timekeeper's table, smiling at her. He then stood her up and was about to kiss her when Chris Masters' music hit and The Masterpiece walked down to the ring, looking in disgust at Viscera. Viscera looked very angry.

Overall Rating: 61.4%

Segment 7: Viscera vs. Chris Masters

(9 Minutes)

The match got underway with Viscera going straight for Masters, trying to destroy him for interrupting him and Lilian. Viscera showed great agility for his size with a spinning heel kick, which he tried to follow up with a running splash, but Masters was able to get out of the way. Masters then took the fight to Big Vis, rocking him with punches and kicks. Masters then hit his patented sledge-fist before drop toe-holding Viscera onto the canvas. Masters stood over Vis as he tried to get up and with great difficulty he managed to lock in the Master Lock. JR, King and the live crowd were all shocked as the referee stopped the match due to Viscera passing out in the hold. Masters had his arm raised as Viscera laid still in the ring.

Winner: Chris Masters

Match Reaction = 62.4%

Match Quality = 53.4%

Overall Rating = 42.9%

Segment 8: Smackdown! Rebound

Overall Rating: 83.2%

Segment 9: Jericho Interview

(6 Minutes)

Maria was backstage, microphone in hand ready to interview Chris Jericho. Jericho spoke about Eddie Guerrero, telling him that he would pay for his actions last week and that 'you can't come into my house and do that'. Jericho also said that he didn't care what problems Eddie has with Rey Mysterio because Rey Mysterio is on Smackdown!, saying that Eddie shouldn't be concentrating on Mysterio, he should be concentrating on getting his ass whooped by Jericho in the night's main event.

Overall Rating = 34.7%

Segment 10: Shelton Benjamin & Shawn Michaels vs. Muhammad Hassan & Khosrow Daivari

(14 Minutes)

This tag team match started off with Shelton Benjamin and Khosrow Daivari in the ring. Benjamin was quick to gain the upper hand, planting Daivari with a powerslam. He kept Daivari isolated, using frequent tags with HBK to wear him down. Daivari was able to get away from Michaels, but Hassan refused to make the tag with a fresh HBK in the ring. Daivari found a way back with a thumb to the eye, though, and after a couple of moves, tagged in Muhammad Hassan. Hassan took it to HBK with various suplexes and slams. He then wore the veteran down with a rear chin lock. Daivari tagged back in to double team Michaels with Hassan, but Michaels scouted a double clothesline and took both men out. Shelton was eventually tagged in and cleaned house. HBK 'tuned up the band' as Hassan was getting to his feet. Hassan ducked the Sweet Chin Music attempt which hit Shelton Benjamin instead. Hassan threw HBK out of the ring and covered Shelton for the 1, 2, 3.

HBK re-entered the ring after the match and chased away Daivari and Hassan.

Winners: Muhammad Hassan & Khosrow Daivari

Match Reaction = 78.8%

Match Quality = 66.0%

Overall Rating = 79.4%

Segment 11: Batista Interview

(6 Minutes)

Marc Loyd interviewed Batista backstage about his upcoming World Heavyweight Title defense against Triple H at Vengeance. Batista said he would walk into the cell as World Heavyweight Champion and he would walk out of the cell World Heavyweight Champion. He also said that his previous two victories over The Game were far from being 'flukes', they were a signal of a new icon on RAW and in the wrestling world. They signalled Triple H's demise and Batista's rise to the top.

Overall Rating: 26.5%

Segment 12: Chris Benoit vs. Christian w/Tyson Tomko

(13 Minutes)

Christian started off the match with the advantage because of Tyson Tomko's presence at ring side. Christian took an early breather on the outside and Benoit looked to utilise a baseball slide, but Tomko tripped him up at the other side of the ring. Christian then got to work, stomping away on Benoit and choking him illegally in the corner. Benoit came back with some vicious chops, but Christian regained the advantage with a thumb to the eye. Christian then locked Benoit in the Crossface, but Benoit was able to reverse the hold into a pinning predicament for a 2 count. Christian then hit a leg drop for a 1 and a half count. Captain Charisma followed up with a reverse DDT to set up the Unprettier, but Benoit shoved Christian away, right into the referee. Benoit then locked the Crossface on Christian and the Captain tapped out - but there was no referee. Tomko entered the ring and broke up the move, stomping away on Benoit. The 'Problem Solver' then waffled Chris Benoit with a big boot and put the referee into position as Christian crawled into the cover. The referee got to a slow 2 count before the Crippler kicked out - to the crowd's delight. Tomko then distracted the referee as Christian looked to capitalise, but Benoit took him down with the Crossface for the second time in the match. The referee turned back around to see Christian slapping the canvas.

Lita got on the microphone and told everyone that Edge was much more of a man than Kane is and that she has no regrets doing what she did. Edge then got the microphone and demanded an answer from Kane to his challenge for a match at Vengeance. He called Kane a coward for not showing his face. The lights then flickered and briefly went out, before the arena was filled with a mysterious red light. The corner posts were then set ablaze, scaring the life out of Edge and Lita. Then, on the big screen, a message came across that said 'Challenge Accepted... The Fire Still Burns'. Kane's music then blared throughout the arena and the monster walked out, heading towards the ring. Lita and Edge made a break for it, running away through the crowd.

Overall Rating = 79.2%

Segment 14: Speeding Away

(1 Minute)

Overall Rating = 74.1%

Segment 16: Main Event

Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrero

(14 Minutes)

The main event of the evening got off to a quick start with Jericho immediately attacking Guerrero, who after a minute or so of receiving punches, escaped from the ring and took a breather. It wasn't long before Jericho joined Eddie outside and the two were brawling into the crowd. The bout eventually came back to the ring where Eddie took over with a sleeper hold. Jericho came back and hit an enziguri for a 2 count. Eddie then hit Jericho with a back suplex before rocking his opponent with the 'Three Amigos'. Eddie then looked for his Frog Splash, but Jericho moved. Jericho then tried to lock in the Walls Of Jericho, but he got pushed away into the corner. Eddie through Jericho out of the ring and followed him out with a slingshot dive to the outside... Jericho was able to move out of the way. The referee got Jericho back in the ring as Eddie grabbed the ring bell. Y2J went to pull Eddie back into the ring, but got a face full of bell. The referee saw the foreign object and ended the match, awarding Jericho the victory by disqualification.

After the match Guerrero beat down on Jericho with some hard shots to the face, busting him wide open. Eddie drilled Jericho with a brainbuster and stood tall in the ring as RAW went off the air.

Winner: Chris Jericho via Disqualification

Match Reaction: 82.6%

Match Quality: 83.6%

Overall Rating = 83.4%

(OOC: The low ratings in the interviews show my inexperience with TEW, I'm afraid. I didn't realise that having the show in Quebec would mean that the fans wouldn't understand what was being said. I do now, though, and will remember for future outings. The Viscera/Masters match received a low rating as neither had the ability to provide psychology.)
