WWF '99: New Dawn

Im gonna keep my eye on this one, i've never followed a diary before, but at the rate this is going, thats going to change.

One question, was triple h called the cerebal assasin back then?

Yeah, they were calling him that. I'm not sure if it started on the first Raw after Wrestlemania or if they were doing it before, but I do remember on that Raw, Jim Ross referred to him as a Cerebral Assassin and the name stuck for quite awhile.

Pretty good Raw. I'm glad to see Backlash shaping up so nicely. X-Pac/Triple H in a cage should be good. Kane should no doubt destroy Chyna too. I'm also glad to see you using Shawn Michaels. But I wouldn't use him every show since back then he'd show up every once in awhile to make matches. Cool to see D'Lo winning the European title, And he could have some good matches with guys like Edge, Gangrel, Val etc. The McMahon family angle is going well too. The only match that looks weak for Backlash is Christian/Gill, I'd rather just see Christian squash Gill on a Raw or something and defend against someone else at the PPV.

OOC: Shortened up Heat because it didn't feel like a "B" show to me besides the use of certain talent. Raw will remain the same length as it has been but it's hard to write big shows with talent that you really don't have anything for, but don't want to get rid of either.

Can The Hardy Boys Solve This Crime?

After last week Droz decided to team up with his tag team partner for what he called “a warm up” for much bigger things. He came to the ring with his partner Prince Albert to take on the young team of The Hardy Boys. This match was definitely a brutal affair with the much bigger team of Albert and Droz dominating the youngsters, throwing them around the ring, making quick tags in and out and hitting hard hitting maneuvers. Hardy’s only chance at offense came when Jeff Hardy countered the a Droz powerbomb into a hurricanrana. Matt Hardy hit a second rope legdrop. Unfortunately for Matt he got to his feet in time to be hit with a double choke bomb from Prince Albert while his brother Jeff finally went up for the double underhook powerbomb from Droz who scored the cover for his team.

Recap Video From Raw-Triple H/Kane/Chyna/X-Pac-63%-Chyna/Triple H Lost Overness

I’ll Make You Stop Laughing

The backstage area is in anarchy as the show comes back from the commercial, finding Bart Gunn attacking Headbanger Mosh in the backstage area. Gunn has mounted Mosh and is pounding away at him with left hands until several officials swarm the scene and pull him off of the fallen Mosh. Thrasher comes on the scene but there are too many officials between the two men and all they can do is argue. Gunn tells Thrasher that if he wants a piece of him, he’ll be in the ring at the end of the night. Thrasher says he’ll be there before checking on his partner.

Now That’s Incredible

In the ring Scorpio awaits his opponent for the night who’s making his singles debut in the WWF, one half of The Impact Players, Justin Credible. Credible comes to the ring alone, but carries his trusty singapore cane with him. He poses for the fans, making sure to show his hatred for them by flipping them off. They get the last laugh however as Credible turns into a spinning kick from Scorpio who dominates the opening minutes of the match. Scorpio makes the mistake of taking his eyes off the prize and catches a low blow for his effort and a side russian legsweep. Credible poses once more and slides to the outside where he grabs his cane, preparing to hit Scorpio with it. The ref grabs it before he can and this gives Scorpio a chance to hit a kick to the gut but he gets caught with That’s Incredible and pinned before he can do anymore damage. After the match Credible wails away on him with the singapore cane before leaving the ring to a chorus of boos.

Hands Of Stone Against The Metal Head-CLANG!!

Set up earlier in the night by the attack on Mosh from Bart Gunn, who told Thrasher to meet him in the ring because that was where he was going to be. Thrasher didn’t waste any time as he attacked Gunn with a fire not seen in him, ever. Thrasher beats him around the ring, crunching him in the corner but not doing his usual headbanging, instead crushing Gunn yet again. Scoop slam sets Gunn up for a sit down splash from the top rope which misses. Gunn goes outside to get his breath back but gets chased around the ring by his opponent. Gunn gets in and stomps away at Thrasher as he tries to get in, pounding him down. Thrasher attempts to go punch for punch with Gunn but he’s only being baited as Gunn unleashes the hard left hook which sends Thrasher down. Gunn makes the pin and picks up the win to end the show. Gunn grabs the mic and says he’s sick of the lack of competition here, and that he’s coming to Raw tomorrow night for the European Title.

Decent heat, Glad to see Credible can get a win without having Lance Storm backing him up. The Impact Players would make good tag team champions, But first, You'd have to make Owen/Jarrett drop the titles. Maybe Owen/Jarrett can move on to the Intercontinental title? I'm interested in seeing where Bart Gunn is heading with a possible feud with D'Lo. Should be interesting. Lets see if D'Lo can avoid the deadly left hook :shifty:

Monday Night Raw-April 19, 1999

1-Low Down And Dirty

Tonight’s edition of Raw opened up with a match, which has been quite unusual for the WWE, considering they’ve used the opening segments for interviews to get the fans pumped up. This match was set up last night on HEAT when Bart Gunn said that he was tired of the lack of competition he’d been receiving and would be here on this night to take the European Title from around the waist of D’Lo Brown. Gunn arrived to the ring, arrogance evident in his facial expressions and his look of contempt as D’Lo headed to the ring as well.

Gunn started things off quickly, attacking Brown as he entered the ring with attacks aimed at the back if the head and neck. His offense was focused mainly on the head, weakening D’Lo up for his knockout punch. Brainbuster has the audience gasping and a quick cover which gets a two count for Gunn. Bart continues to his strikes to the head, looking for a ddt that’s reversed when Brown drives him into the buckles. D’Lo attacks with strikes to the head and neck before connecting with a short arm clothesline that gets a two count. Moonsault misses and Gunn rolls to the outside to get his breath back

This doesn’t work as The Headbangers rush down and attack Gunn on the outside, driving him hard into the steps while the ref attempts to keep D’Lo inside the ring. Finally D’Lo gives up and allows the ref to count, where he counts Bart Gunn out. Mosh and Thrasher stand on the ramp, smiling as D’Lo celebrates inside the ring with his title. Lawler and Ross mention how it appears like The Headbangers and Gunn aren’t finished with this debacle.

2-The Stone Cold Truth, And Nothing But

Following the first commercial break, the fans go insane as the glass breaks and ”Stone Cold” Steve Austin makes a beeline straight for the ring. He poses on all four corners, soaking in the reaction from the crowd before gettting down and taking the mic. Austin has a smile on his face as he begins to speak.

Steve Austin: Last week, The Rattlesnake showed just what happens when you tell him that he has the night off. Shane McMahon, if Stone Cold wanted the night off then he would have asked, but when you tell old Stone Cold that he has to take the night off, well then, he starts feeling just a little bit antsy. And we all know what happens when Stone Cold feels antsy don’t we?

Loud pop from the crowd as Austin makes the beer signal with his thumb and pinky finger.

Steve Austin: That’s right, I showed up, sat in the back, drank a few beer and thought what better way to party then come out here and cost some melee mouth bastard some gold. Now I guess I don’t have a match here tonight either, which means I got a whole cooler of beer to drink back there. Stay tuned for the end of the night though, it could be a real STUNNER

Fans laugh at Austin’s pun but they settle down as Austin steps onto the middle turnbuckle, puts the mic to his mouth and finishes off the interview.

Steve Austin: AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE...BECAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!!!

Crowd is on fire as Austin’s music hits once more and he poses on the buckles one more time before heading out of the arena. Once again the camera goes to Lawler and Ross who hype the main event for Backlash between Austin and The Rock

Steve Austin Int. (Shane McMahon/Later Tonight)-97

3-The Rock And Shane Rebuttal

After the crowd settles down, the camera goes backstage where Shane McMahon and The Rock are hanging out. The Rock is lacing up his boots when McMahon barges in.

Shane McMahon: Can you believe what Austin just said? He’s crazy if he thinks I’m going to let him get away with that.

Rock jumps up, throwing his hand in the face of Shane, stopping him immediately.

The Rock:Woah, Woah, Woah, calm down and back that wagon up. Steve Austin badmouths The Rock? Nah-Uh. What? Does he think he’s something after beating The Rock at Wrestlemania? Does he think that gives him something over The Rock? Well let The Rock tell you one thing Austin, you will never, and the Rock means, Ever be able to hold a candle to The People’s Champion. Backlash, the night that The Rock brings that title back to where it belongs and there is nothing that you can do about it. You see, The Rock is so confident that he’s going to beat you at Backlash, he’s ordered a warm up match for tonight. So Shane, who’s the jabroni that’s about to get his ass whipped by The Great One?

Rock puts the mic in front of McMahon, smiling for the camera.

Shane McMahon: Well tonight, it’s the Brahma Bull, The Great One, The Most Electrifying Man In-

The Rock: Yeah, Yeah, The Rock doesn’t have all day. Let’s just get to the point.

Shane McMahon: Tonight, in our main event it’s going to be The Rock....

The Rock chuckles

Shane McMahon:...taking on “The Big Show” Paul Wight

Shane smiles, The Rock does not. Shane finally looks at The Rock to realize he’s not smiling and the smile slowly fades from McMahon’s face as well.

The Rock: What in the blue hell did you just say? Paul Wight? The Big Show? The seven foot, five hundred pound gorilla?

Shane nods and The Rock looks like he’s going to snap him in the back of the head, but then a smile crosses his face.

The Rock: That’s fine, that’s fine. Because tonight, The Rock is going to do what he does best and that’s whip the ass of that oversized ape, and show Stone Cold Steve Austin exactly why he has no chance at Backlash. IF YOU SMELL......WHAT THE ROCK......IS COOKING!!

Fade to commercial on The Rock’s piercing eyes.

4-Debut Of The Man Who Steals The Show

Another commercial break leads into this match which starts off with the lights out. On the Titan Tron are the words “He’s About To Steal The Show In....” followed by a ten second countdown. Bright red pyro shoots from the ramp way, bringing the debut of newly signed Rob Van Dam. His opponent for the night is a man who has been announced as the Intercontinental Title Challenger for Backlash, Val Venis.. Venis arrived in style, with a two woman entourage, towel around his waist.

Van Dam doesn’t wait for his opponent to get into the ring, charging across and diving over the ropes onto Venis. The girls just barely get out of the way as Van Dam and Venis brawl around the ringside area. Van Dam blocks a whip into the steps by using them as a launch pad to moonsault onto the still standing Venis. Van Dam is wooing the crowd and they show him a bit of love as he throws Venis in, using the ropes to slingshot over with a somersault Senton. Quick cover gets a two count. Val blocks a suplex with one of his own, getting his momentum back with a couple of whips to the ropes, followed by knees to the midsection after each one. Scoop slam into an elbow drop. A bit of posing from Val who heads to the top rope for his Money Shot but Van Dam dropkicks the top rope and crotches Venis. Superplex brings Venis off the top rope, and a Rolling Thunder gets a two count. Van Dam propels himself onto the ropes, attempting his Superstar Press but Val gets his knees up to block it. Venis is back up top, but this time it’s another hand that reaches in and shoves Venis from the top rope. GOLDUST!! Van Dam rolls Venis up, garnering the three count and quickly rolling out of the ring. He shudders as he realizes he’s backing up the ramp next to Goldust, and backs a little faster as Goldust smiles at his handy work.

5-Thou Shalt Not Be Led Astray

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon appears to be distraught over the recent happenings. Once again she’s confronted by The Undertaker, who lets her walk into his chest before laughing at her.

The Undertaker: Something wrong, Miss McMahon?

His voice is mocking as he moves foward, forcing her to move backwards a bit, falling onto the couch.

The Undertaker: I told you not to worry, yet, still I find you pacing like a lost soul. If it’s your father that you seek, I can deliver you to him.

Stephanie looks hopeful for a few seconds but then the distrust is back, and the fearful gaze turns down.

Stephanie McMahon: Why should I trust you?

This brings a chuckle from ‘Taker once more.

The Undertaker: You shouldn’t. But I’m the only man who can show you where your father is. Either you want to be there, or you don’t. It’s your choice.

Few seconds of silence but then Stephanie nods her head, and Undertaker smiles devilishly.

The Undertaker: Good answer.

The scene fades to a commercial.

6-Hardcore Henry?

This match seems to have been made for the sole purpose of announcing another title match for Backlash between ”Hardcore” Bob Holly and Al Snow for the Hardcore Title. This match has Holly defending the title against the monster olympic medalist Mark Henry. Holly starts off by digging tons of things out from under the ring and tossing them into the ring. Holly even throws the title in the ring, mixing it with the rest of the weapons.

Holly slides in the ring and immediately gets hit with a garbage can shot from Henry. Henry’s power keeps Holly down with several different weapon shots. Holly fights back with punches to the midsection, and a hockey stick between the legs which brings Henry to his knees. Holly smashes another garbage can over Henry’s head before using the covers like cymbals with Henry’s head between them. Holly completely destroys Henry with with more weapon shots but Henry grabs a garbage lid and slams it into Holly’s groin. Powerslam from Henry gets a two count, and he goes for a Big Splash. Holly rolls out of the way, making the quick cover and getting the three count before Henry even knows what’s going on.

Henry is furious but he rolls out of the ring, allowing Holly to celebrate. Which is cut short when Al Snow appears, carrying “Head” once again. Al swings wildly and misses, getting an “Alabama Slam” for his troubles. Holly grabs his title, rolling out and raising it high above his head. Snow sits up, rubbing his head and yelling at his other “Head.”

7-Two Down-One To Go

Once again, the video screen lights up, showing Vince McMahon chained to the wall. He seems to be regaining consciousness when the door to the room slowly opens, letting a bit of light trickle in. Vince’s head slowly raises, his throat too parched to talk as his daughter rushes through the door, throwing herself to her knees and her arms around her father. Undertaker chuckles and then slams the door, locking the two McMahon’s inside. Outside the door Undertaker is still chuckling.

8-Keeping It Country

At the beginning of the program, this match was announced, and Canadian Country weren’t happy about it. They were told that they’d have to defend the titles against Kane and X-Pac. This time Debra was allowed to accompany the champions to ringside. X-Pac and Kane came out to Kane’s music, with X-Pac showing his natural energy while Kane just steadily heads for the ring, stepping over the top rope and going after the champions who quickly bail out. Kane sets off the pyro from the center of the ring while X-Pac does his leaping crotch chops. Match begins with Owen Hart and X-Pac.

Some nice chain wrestling by the two men to start things off, Owen continously taking X-Pac to the mat, locking on side headlocks, quick takedowns. X-Pac fights back, regaining his vertical base and nearly taking Hart’s head off with a spinning kick to the face. X-Pac tags in Kane and Owen quickly retreats to his own corner, tagging in Jarrett. Jarrett attempts to get behind Kane but every time he tries, Kane grabs him by the throat and throws him into the corner. Jarrett ducks an overhand shot and throws several shots into the face of Kane, before grabbing his head and beating the back of it hard against the turnbuckles. Jarrett goes low, trying to take the big mans legs out from under him with several shots to the back of the knees. Kane goes down to one knee but he always fights back, tossing Jarrett around the ring. Jarrett makes a quick tag to Hart who finally takes Kane off his feet with a missile dropkick. Hart continues to work over the knee with a leg scissors, beating on the knee while holding the lock on.

X-Pac rallies the fans up, trying to get Kane to make the tag. Kane does get to his feet and whips Owen into the ropes, forgetting his knee as he delivers a boot to the face before collapsing from the pain. Owen crawls and makes the tag at the same time Kane tags out to X-Pac. Spinning kick takes Jarrett down, dropkick takes Owen back to the mat. Jarrett gets the three kick combo from X-Pac in the corner followed by the spinning back kick. X-Factor to Owen and a cover but the ref is pulled out. Chyna is here and she’s jawing with the referee. Triple H comes from behind and knocks X-Pac down with a sledgehammer shot to the head. Kane gets to his feet and gets one as well. He slides out as the ref slides in and Owen makes the cover for the three count. Triple H and Chyna back up the ramp, smiling, just as every other person who interfered in the evening had done while Canadian Country celebrates with the titles.

9-Got Your Back

After everyone calms down at ringside, the camera finds Paul Wight backstage, dressed in street clothes, but he’s heading for the ring and the main event of the night. After a few steps he’s cut off by his opponent at Wrestlemania, Mick Foley

Mick Foley: Hey Paul, I know we’ve never seen eye to eye, and we’ve had some battles, but if you need it, I’m here to help.

Wight looks at him, and nods his head, but doesn’t answer as he steps past and keeps on walking to the ring, slowly taping his wrists up as he goes. Ross mentions the battle at Mania and how Wight doesn’t seem like he wants to except Foley’s or anyone’s help.

Foley Offers Paul Wight Help-83%

10-The Rock’s Warm Up Match

Back from the commercial and ready for the main event as Paul Wight makes his way to the ring to a reasonable crowd reaction. The reaction gets quite a bit louder as The Rock’s music hits and they rain boos down on him. Shane McMahon leads his charge to the ring.

Wight opens up as soon as The Rock enters the ring, and Shane makes a smart decision, remaining on the outside of the ring while yelling encouragement to The Rock. Most of the match is full of brawling back and forth, Paul Wight cutting off any advantage with his immense power. The Rock does manage to impress the crowd with a spinebuster. Shane is happy on the outside as The Rock resumes control, stomping away on the big man. Wight fights back to his feet, only to be hit with the two shots to the jaw, followed by the spit punch which sends him into the corner. Rock climbs aboard and hammers Wight with eight punches before he’s thrown forcefully from the corner. Wight then just about takes his head off with a blistering clothesline. Wight continues to take the fight to The Rock, grabbing him by the head and throwing him across the ring. Rock tries to escape to the outside but Wight reaches over, pulls him onto the apron and then the rest of the way into the ring. Big slaps to the chest in the corner has The Rock reeling.

Wight hauls back for another slap to the chest but his hand catches the referee in the head and knocks him to the mat. Shane takes this chance, grabbing a chair and sliding into the ring but before he gets a shot off, Wight turns around and stares at him, yelling obscenities. Wight goes after Shane who slides out of the ring, and runs around it, Wight in chase. Shane slides into the ring and Wight follows which leads to The Rock catching him with a Rock Bottom out of nowhere and making the cover for the win.

The Rock p. “The Big Show” Paul Wight via Shane McMahon Interference-70/71/71

11-Can’t Say He Didn’t Warn You

Shane and The Rock are posing over the fallen giant when the glass breaks for the second time of the night and ”Stone Cold” Steve Austin makes his way to the ring, carrying his title behind him. The Rock stands in the center of the ring, beckoning for Austin to “bring it on” and Austin obliges. The two begin a fist fight, going back and forth on each other. Austin ducks a Rock Bottom, grabs his title and waffles it across the head of The Rock. He goes down and Austin raises the title over his head, while staring down Shane who has left the ring. The show ends with Austin calling for a beer to toast over the fallen body of The Rock.

I feel you have done a really good job of capturing this era of the WWF. A lot of crash tv style and lots of interference. Of course, making sure that lots of story developments happens each episode. A lot like Russo, you've done a decent job of putting some focus on the midcard. Though I have noticed that Sable & Nicole Bass have got nothing since Mania. I'm not opposed to no Nicole & Sable but WWF from this period would definitely have had them on the shows.

I don't really like the Undertaker v. Vince story. Don't they go to different arena's each show? Have they transported Vince with chains and all from each arena to another hidden spot? Why hasn't Stephanie got police involvement? Admittedly, WWF had these same problems with their version of the storyline when Steph got kidnapped at Backlash. At least, it's accurate to that time period. The real storyline was cool because it had all the dissension between the Corportion and Shane's eventual take over of it. I don't see that played as much here as Shane is only focusing on the Rock. Shamrock hasn't necessarily made himself completely aligned with Vince.

Where's the Mean Street Posse? Are you afraid their bad ass selves with dissimate the rest of your roster?

Austin v. Rock is a solid story. It's been built better then it was back then. I've enjoyed the matches and Shane's constant involvement. Though I don't agree with Show jobbing. I'm thinking you should have held off on that match. Show was still pretty well handled back then and not just a big jobber that he later became. I'd say, it would be good to keep him real strong and not easily beaten. Money could have been made off the Show if he was booked right. He shouldn't be jobbing to the Rock so easily or soon.

Backlash is definitely shaping up to be a good one. I look forward to the stories moving forward. I'm also enjoying the Headbangers actually getting some invovlement. As in the actual WWF, this would be when Chaz's lame gimmick was introduced. I look forward to see where the Bart push goes and how the Headbangers get used.

Don't forget, it's all about the Brown (D Lo).

Just to clear this up, it's not been said that Vince is even in the arena. He's been held captive somewhere, and while I do agree it seems a bit out there, it's almost the same as The Acolytes when they were chained to the wall. I just used this as a way to build a few things.

Other than that, some fine points that you bring up and I'll see what I can do about fixing those mistakes in the future.

Actually, I found the Dennis Knight (Mideon) being all chained up to be really lame too. Just because the WWF did it doesn't really make it all that cooler. Like I said, the angle is pretty realistic for the time period and thus I don't want to harp on it too much. You've got to have a few non-sensical and over the top angles since it's WWF Attitude era. Despite not digging it, I realize it works very well for this diary and can imagine it actually happening.

Good Raw. Things are coming along nicely. Quite a good debut for RVD, As if Val beats Goldust for the title, Then RVD's instantly the number one contender for the title. Glad to see X-Pac versus Triple H and Chyna versus Kane coming along nicely. I'm digging the whole Undertaker/McMahons storyline as well. I'm looking forward to seeing Undertaker grab Shane next. Keep up the good work (Y)

Backlash Preview

World Heavyweight Title Match:

”Stone Cold” Steve Austin© vs The Rock

This battle has been waging for several years, spanning from the Intercontinental Championship to the World Heavyweight Title. It’s gone from being about respect, to power, to down right disrespect. Many thought the feud had culminated at Wrestlemania when Austin defeated The Rock for the World Title. This was not to be as Austin demanded his “Smoking Skull” title on the following Monday Night Raw. Shane decided that it was best to give it to The Rock instead, and so the fued began once again. In all this, Austin has cost Shane McMahon the European Title, attacked The Rock and laid him out with the title. At Backlash, these two will go one more time for the title. Could this be the ending of a career long war? Or could this be starting all over again?

Cage Match:

Triple H vs X-Pac

From best friends, to mortal enemies, X-Pac and Triple H have seen it all. They’ve traveled up and down the roads together, which makes this match all the more surprising. At Wrestlemania, Triple H showed his true colors when he turned on former friend, X-Pac to reunite with Chyna and joining “The Corporation.” From there, the two battled twice on Raw with no real victor being named. Triple H has vowed to end this once and for all, inside the fifteen foot high steel cage, and X-Pac, he wants to completely tear the “Cerebral Assassin” limb from limb.

Intercontinental Title Match:

Goldust© vs Val Venis

Maybe one of the least built matches on the card, but the importance has not been lost. Val Venis started this off by making the save for Al Snow during a title defense by Goldust. While it didn’t have much to do with Goldust, he was still quite upset and this lead to a tag match on Raw, where we learned that Goldust would be defending his title against Venis. Last week on Raw, Goldust cost Venis a match against newcomer Rob Van Dam, and Venis has guaranteed revenge for this show. Could this be Goldust’s curtain call? Does Val Venis suffer from his own envy? Find out at Backlash

Hardcore Title Match:

”Hardcore” Bob Holly© vs Al Snow

Snow has been obsessed with the Hardcore Title since the first moment he’s held it in his hands, and losing it to “Hardcore” Holly was a blow that he couldn’t seem to handle. Snow has never been known for being clinically sane and he’s shown over the last few weeks that it’s only getting worse. He’s perpetrated numerous attacks on the Champion, which never seem to go that well, but has mentioned that Backlash is going to be a whole lot different.

Lightweight Title Match:

Duane Gill© vs Christian

Many thought that Christian would take a beating on the night that he gave the information to Ken Shamrock on where he could find Vince McMahon’s daughter. In the end it was Mideon who took the beating and Christian was given one more chance to prove himself in the eyes of The Undertaker. His choice, take the Lightweight title from the man he deems a joke, Duane Gill. Christian made a statement by attacking Duane Gill and putting him out of action for two weeks, but he will be at Backlash, and he will defend his title.

6-Man Tag Team Match:

The Undertaker & The Acolytes vs Test/Ken Shamrock/Big Bossman

This has been one of the biggest fueds to date, between The Ministry and The Corporation. Ever since The Undertaker began playing mind games with Vince McMahon, the watchdogs have been on the prowl, trying to keep things under control. They’ve failed so far, allowing The Ministry to kidnap Stephanie, and then Vince McMahon himself. The Undertaker has promised that if The Coporation can defeat his team at Backlash, then he would allow Vince McMahon his release. There is one chance for The Corporation, and what happens if they fail? Stay tuned for that.

Grudge Match:

Kane vs Chyna

Betrayal seems to be the theme for this Backlash, and this match is no different. Kane, once an honorary member of Degeneration X, thought he had finally found some friends. That all came crumbling down when Triple H and Chyna both turned their backs. Now he, and friend X-Pac, are attempting to get revenge and Kane has promised to burn Chyna to the ground for what she has done. Or at least he would have if he talked.

Tie Breaker: Which match will get the highest Match Rating? Winner gets to choose a fued they'd like to see.

-Many have been wondering about where Sable has been since what happened at Wrestlemania. The answer is simple, during that match Sable tweaked her shoulder. Having no plans with Nicole Bass, WWF was happy to keep her off television until Sable returned, which fortunately is the Raw after Backlash.

-Due to contractual obligations, as well as having no plans in the near future, Golga and Luna Vachon have been released. Kurrgan and Giant Silva have been sent down to OVW. WWE are looking to bring them back as giant tag team, but their roles as of now are still undecided.

World Heavyweight Title Match:

”Stone Cold” Steve Austin© vs The Rock

Austin retains thanks to Shane screwing up or something. The Rock then ends up turning face later on. I just don't see Rocky winning the title.

Cage Match:

Triple H vs X-Pac

Triple H is going to get a push and needs to look strong, Simple as that. X-Pac will give it all he has, But will end up losing. Maybe Chyna will intefere?

Intercontinental Title Match:

Goldust© vs Val Venis

50/50 here, But I went with Goldust. Besides, No need to get hot shotting the IC title around like the WWF kept doing.

Hardcore Title Match:

”Hardcore” Bob Holly© vs Al Snow

Snow finally gets his hardcore title.

Lightweight Title Match:

Duane Gill© vs Christian

Christian's going to own Gill's soul.

6-Man Tag Team Match:

The Undertaker & The Acolytes vs Test/Ken Shamrock/Big Bossman

Kinda obvious imo. Maybe Shane will accidentaly cost the corporation the match?

Grudge Match:

Kane vs Chyna

Sure, Chyna is probably more man than Kane, But Kane would look like such a loser if he lost to a woman. Especially since he wants payback.

Tie Breaker: Which match will get the highest Match Rating? Winner gets to choose a fued they'd like to see.

World Heavyweight Title Match:

”Stone Cold” Steve Austin© vs The Rock

100% Stone Cold. Shane will screw up and The Rock will turn face, just like the real thing.

Cage Match:

Triple H vs X-Pac

Triple H has to win to start off his push, he'll just look weak if not.

Intercontinental Title Match:

Goldust© vs Val Venis

Goldust to win, but I think he'll lose the title to RVD the next night, which will enrage Val. Val will then turn heel on RVD and the two will feud.

Hardcore Title Match:

”Hardcore” Bob Holly© vs Al Snow

About time he got his title.

Lightweight Title Match:

Duane Gill© vs Christian

Foregone conclusion, isn't it.

6-Man Tag Team Match:

The Undertaker & The Acolytes vs Test/Ken Shamrock/Big Bossman

Maybe due to some problems among Team Corporate?

Grudge Match:

Kane vs Chyna

This is a tough one, maybe Kane still has feelings for Chyna and he'll lay down for her. But I think he'll destroy her.

Tie Breaker: Which match will get the highest Match Rating? Stone Cold vs Rock.

The end.

Prediction time:

Austin v. Rock- Steve Austin is fresh from coming off winning the World Title from the Rock. I can't see any reason for Rock winning back the championship. Besides, the title needs some stability after it jumped all over the place the months before. Austin will have a hard fought match but will walk out the champ after Shane's interference backfires.

X-Pac v. HHH - This will be another close and grueling match. I'm sure that both guys will come out off looking rather strong. But HHH needs to win this match in order to put himself in position for the main event. Afterall, who else is Austin going to feud with after he's done with Rock?

Venis v. Goldust - This is probably the match I am least sure of. It comes down to trying to get the title some stability again since Goldust just won it. It'll be a close match but Goldust will come out the better man. Besides, Goldust is getting a new push with Marlena thus it makes sense to give him a few strong wins. I expect RVD to possibly get invovled in this match as well.

Kane v. Chyna - Hate to correct your preview but the turn happend when Chyna smoked Kane with a chair during his match against HHH. Chyna was corporate with Kane before WM and then reunited with HHH that night. Anyway, that is besides the point. Kane needs to win here or his career will take a nosedive. Chyna can afford to get squashed here and still have a decent WWF career.

Taker/Acolytes v. Bossman/Test/Shamrock - Ministry will need to win here in order to progress the kidnapping of Vince story. We want to see what they have in store for Vince, right? Besides, the Corporation has gotten no push or build going into this while Ministry is very strong.

Gill v. Christian - It's a foregone conclusion. If you want the Light Heavyweight title to mean anything then Christian must win here.

Snow v. Holly - It's time for Snow to finally win the Hardcore title. It will be a close one but Snow will pull it off. Though I have no idea what either guy does after this match? I have a feeling that Bart Gunn might be an upcoming challenger for Snow and maybe Holly will go after D Lo's title?

Best rated match? Austin v. Rock

Just a quick note. I've got one match left to write of the show so it will be posted tomorrow afternoon. Anyone who has yet to get their predictions in and would like to, should probably do that as soon as possible. Spice, I actually realized my mistake after thinking about it for awhile. I didn't do a lot of research due to the fact that I had a pretty good recollection of these events but had forgotten which one came first in this respect. Thanks for correcting me though, because I have a tendency to make some stupid mistakes like that.

Had a problem. So I need another tie breaker between three guys. SpiceDawg, Spangek and Corino. So if you would.

Did anyone turn during this show? IF so, who?

I'll post the show after I've gotten the answers from these three men.
