WWE Royal Rumble

January 22, 2006

Carlito VS Chris Masters

- Carlito winning... that's cool.

Mickie James VS Ashley (Special Referee: Trish Stratus)

- I'd imagine Trish will go a different route in this than she did in real life (I do recall this match happening at some point... do I not?) She will cost Mickie the match with a Chick Kick.

John Bradshaw Layfield VS The Boogeyman

- Boogeyman equals ratings ya know! NOT! Put JBL back in the main events!

John Cena VS Edge (WWE Championship)

- Let Edge have a decent run with the belt... make Cena job to Tomko or something.

Batista VS Mark Henry (World Heavyweight Championship)

- If Mark Henry holds the world title, I will protest this diary. Haha

2006 Royal Rumble Match

Randy Orton

- I see it coming down to Triple H, Chris Benoit and Randy Orton. Triple H and Orton will team up to take out Benoit... and then Orton will turn on HHH and throw him out.

Carlito VS Chris Masters

Carlito gets on my nerves. Put him in a hair vs hair match.

Mickie James VS Ashley (Special Referee: Trish Stratus)

I see Trish attacking Ashley and gifting the win to Kickie James

John Bradshaw Layfield VS The Boogeyman

No real contest here. It needst o be JBL.

John Cena VS Edge (WWE Championship)

Let Edge have a good little run with the belt I say. Build him up as a credible champion.

Batista VS Mark Henry (World Heavyweight Championship)

Mark Henry needs to be very far away from the World Title. Forever.

2006 Royal Rumble Match

Triple H. It'll make for a good main event whether he fights Batista or Edge.

JBL VS The Boogeyman

It was clear that Boogeyman held a psychological advantage against JBL heading into the Royal Rumble. The Boogeyman one-upped JBL by scaring him before the match even began.

The Boogeyman took off with a few clotheslines and body slams, JBL tried frantically not to get locked in a submission and get worms spat on his face. JBL threw his manager in the Boogeyman’s way, yet again.

The Boogeyman quickly shoved Jillian aside, and walked right into a Clothesline From Hell. JBL then rolled up his opponent, grabbed his tights and put his feet on the ropes for the victory.

The Boogeyman would still have the last laugh, JBL’s hands were now covered with worms as they come out of The Boogeyman’s pants. JBL quickly hightailed it but his manager would not be so lucky. The Boogeyman grabbed Jillian, kissed her and bit the growth off of her face! JBL looked on terrified as The Boogeyman spat some worms into Jillian’s face. The medics attended to her afterwards.

Winner: JBL at 3:22

Carlito VS Chris Masters

Carlito outsmarted Masters nearly a month earlier and he outsmarted him tonight also. Masters had the size advantage, Carlito avoided The Masterlock throughout the match and attempted a back cracker of his own. The bulky Masters however, shifted his weight and landed on top of Carlito.

Carlito kicked out of the pin fall and continued the match, he even went as far as to attempt his own Masterlock, which Masters easily powered out of. He finally locked in The Masterlock, Carlito somehow put his feet on the ropes. Masters was not about to release the hold however but the referee struggled to break it up and succeeded.

Masters shoved the ref face first into the turnbuckle in anger. That would prove to be a costly mistake as Carlito delivered a low blow and followed up with a back cracker for the victory.

Winner: Carlito at 9:01

Mickie James VS Ashley (Trish Stratus as Special Referee)

Trish Stratus turned out to be an impartial referee in this No. 1 contender’s match for the Women’s Championship. Mickie James was aggressive against Trish’s friend, Ashley. Mickie quickly pummeled Ashley down onto the mat before the match even began.

Ashley fought back however and took down her opponent with a spear. She drove Mickie in the corner, climb the second rope and punched her head in. Mickie reversed it into a powerbomb, Ashley in turn reversed into a DDT. Mickie quickly kicked her opponent in the gut before she could land and connected with the Chick Kick. Mickie followed up with a DDT and several more Chick Kicks for the three count.

Mickie hugged her idol to celebrate but Trish pushed her away and walked off. Mickie is now the new No. 1 contender to the Women’s Championship.

Winner: Mickie James at 5:57

Mark Henry VS Batista

Batista fought a hard fought battle with Mark Henry. Heading into the match Henry claimed neither strength nor speed can beat him, so no matter what strategy Batista has planned will be useless.

Batista started the match off defensively, something that we haven’t seen in a while. Henry power lifted Batista and threw him out of the ring, just like 5 weeks ago on Smackdown! No matter what the champ tried, he could not topple Henry. Batista put Henry in a sleeper hold, but that did not work either.

Henry ripped off the turnbuckle padding, Batista tried to spear Henry, but he threw the referee in the way. Henry whipped Batista into the corner with the exposed turnbuckle and charged at him. Batista countered into a drop to hold sending Henry face first into the exposed turnbuckle. Batista picked up a trusty steel chair and nailed Henry with it twice in order to take him down.

Batista then continued his assault by smashing the steel chair onto Henry’s gut. As the referee came to, Batista speared Henry. Batista both walked in and walked out of the Royal Rumble as the World Heavyweight Champion.

Winner: Batista at 12:20

John Cena VS Edge

“The Rated R Superstar” headed into the Royal Rumble with the mindset of not being a forgettable transitional champion and dropping the title back to John Cena. Edge was so confident that he told the Smackdown! Royal Rumble participants while they were drawing their numbers that they better stay on their turf where it is safe. Normally, this kind of cockiness would lead to one’s defeat. That was not the case for Edge though.

Cena and Edge fought back and forth, at one point in the match, Cena locked Edge in the STFU and kept it locked in for nearly a minute. Edge hung on though. Cena tried to capitalize with a move off the top rope but the meddling Lita would push him off. Although the referee would ban Lita from ringside, Edge hit a DDT an capitalized with a number of moves on Cena.

Edge went for the Spear but Cena would quickly reverse into a powerful F-U. Edge surprisingly, kicked out of the pinfall attempt. Cena went for another F-U, it didn’t work for a second time as Edge slid of Cena’s shoulders and rolled him up for a 3 count. Cena looked on upset, as Edge joined Lita at the entrance rampway and taunted the former champ.

Winner: Edge at 20:10

2006 Royal Rumble Match

15 RAW, 15 Smackdown! 30 WWE superstars compete for a chance to main event Wrestlemania. Each year, the Royal Rumble proves to be classic. This year, the 19th edition was no different as the road to Wrestlemania 22 is almost coming to a close.

Rey Mysterio and Triple H started off. Coming at #3 was Matt Hardy followed by Ric Flair. The Nature Boy took it to his former friend while Hardy and Mysterio fought in cruiserweight action. Big Show and Kane came out back to back, the Tag Team Champions made their presence known by lifting Hardy and Flair out of the ring.

Rey Mysterio was clotheslined over top rope, but somehow he grabbed onto it in order to stay in. Triple H was in trouble but thankfully for him #7 entrant, Lashley came in to make the save by taking out Big Show and Kane. However, Triple H was not as helpful as he simply watched Lashley get double teamed and eliminated.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Big Show and Kane started fighting each other. Kane was clotheslined over the top by his partner. Kane grabbed Show around the waist as he flipped over and the World Tag Team Champions were eliminated together. Triple H and Rey Mysterio were still in the match; Rob Van Dam came out at #14. RVD and Rey relieved their old tag team and together they eliminated a total of 4 opponents, including The Game.

Triple H found himself double dropkicked over the ropes out of nowhere. Triple H lasted in the ring for over 30 minutes and was still picking up momentum. He was visibly frustrated. Carlito was the #19 entrant but did not get a chance to come in. Chris Masters, who faced off against Carlito earlier on took him out at the rampway using The Masterlock.

Randy Orton was #21; his time in the ring was short lived. He found himself at the receiving end of a 619 from Rey Mysterio. Orton then walked right into a spinning heel kick from Rob Van Dam which sent him over the ropes. Mysterio was later eliminated by #24 entrant Shawn Michaels with some Sweet Chin Music. # 25 and #26 were RAW surprise entrants, Eugene and Goldust.

Vince Mcmahon’s music hit the arena as he came out to the rampway, distracting HBK long enough for him to be german suplexed out of the ring by Kurt Angle who was the #28 entrant. Kurt Angle was quickly eliminated by The Undertaker. Angle tried to Angle Slam The Deadman out of the ring. Undertaker landed on his feet barely, grabbed Angle by the throat and chokeslammed him over the ropes.

At #30, Booker T’s music hit signaling that he is the final entrant, however it was Randy Orton who came out instead of the United States Champion. Randy Orton sneaked into the ring, giving an RKO to Chris Benoit. Orton then tossed Benoit over the top rope. The final 3 participants were The Undertaker, Rob Van Dam and Kurt Angle.

The Undertaker hit Rob Van Dam with a big boot sending him onto the apron. The Deadman tried to charge at RVD, but ht simply held the ropes down for him and Undertaker was out. Randy Orton and Rob Van Dam fought back and forth. RVD hit many of his signature moves but could not eliminate the Legend Killer. RVD went for the five star frog splash, but the crafty Orton would crotch him and try to shove him off the top rope. Rob Van Dam quickly flipped over and sunset flip powerbombed Orton out of the ring.

Rob Van Dam celebrated in the ring realizing that he just beaten 28 other superstars to finally earn a shot at main eventing Wrestlemania. And that, in his return match in the WWE.

Winner: Rob Van Dam at 1:07:02

ENTRY: Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy, Ric Flair, Kane, Big Show, Lashley, Paul Burchill, Chavo Guerrero, Trevor Murdoch, Shelton Benjamin, Johnny Nitro, Lance Cade, Rob Van Dam, Orlando Jordan, Sylvan, Chris Benoit, Super Crazy, Carlito, Chris Masters, Randy Orton, Joey Mercury, Psychosis, Shawn Michaels, Eugene, Goldust, Simon Dean, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton (Booker T)

ELIMINATION: Matt Hardy, Ric Flair, Lashley, Trevor Murdoch, Chavo Guerrero, Paul Burchill, Lance Cade, Shelton Benjamin, Orlando Jordan, Sylvan, Carlito/Chris Masters, Randy Orton, Super Crazy, Psychosis, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Johnny Nitro, Goldust, Eugene, Simon Dean, Joey Mercury, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Randy Orton (Booker T)

JBL beat Boogeyman. Good. I like how you went with the real life storyline of Boogeyman biting the growth off her face cuz lets face it... that gimmick was freakin retarded.

Carlito over Chris Masters... now that's cool.

Not sure about the Mickie Match. That ending seemed a bit awkward... But, I'm glad Mickie got the win and hopefully we see her beat Trish.

Mark Henry got beat.... Good. Now fire him. Haha.

Edge retained. God Bless.

RVD won the rumble... I didn't see that coming AT ALL. Nice touch though. Again, the ending seemed awkward... How would he execute a Sunset Flip Powerbomb to the outside unless Orton was standing on the apron already? From what you wrote, Orton was inside the ring trying to push RVD off the top rope... so... the finish doesn't make much sense... but I'm still glad to see RVD getting the win.

WWE RAW Preview

Jan. 23, 2006

Last night at the Royal Rumble Rob Van Dam took it to the EXTREME against 28 other superstars. After nearly a year way from the ring, Mr. Monday Night will make his RAW return tonight. Rob Van Dam will take on Carlito. Had it not been for him, RVD would have returned from his injury earlier. Carlito crushed Rob Van Dam’s legs a year ago in an episode of Carlito’s Cabana.

Also, at the Royal Rumble Edge defeated John Cena in order to retain his title. Knowing Cena however, he will never back down from his goal. What will Cena have to say about the WWE Champion?

Monday Night RAW has been lacking a General Manager since late last year. After many GM interviews, Mr. Mcmahon has finally found the man to be the next authority figure. The Chairman of the WWE will announce who he or she is tonight.

Royal Rumble Fallout

Jan. 23, 2006

Mr. Mcmahon has been the interim RAW GM since last year. After weeks and weeks of job interviews, Mr. Mcmahon finally found the man to pass down the torch to, his own son Shane. With Shane Mcmahon running the asylum, new opportunities are bound to arise. Also, what will happen to the “zero tolerance” policy now? Shane Mcmahon started the night off by announcing Triple H VS Ric Flair as the main event of RAW, a rematch from last year’s Survivor Series. He also announced that Big Show and Kane will be defending their World Tag Team Titles tonight.

The “King of Kings” was in a foul mood after failing to live up to his promise this Sunday among events that transpired on RAW with John Cena. Triple H took his anger out on the Intercontinental Champion, the match was short and sweet, on Triple H part, that is. Just when Ric Flair was about to outwrestle “The Game,” he took a sledgehammer across Flair’s head and disqualifying himself. HHH then took Flair to the announce table and looked to pedigree Flair through it ala Survivor Series 2005. Triple H eventually thought better of it and walked away, leaving the motionless Flair behind.

Triple H came out to the ring, early on in the night. He admitted and acknowledged his failure 24 hours ago. Triple H claimed that the Royal Rumble did not mean anything since he went over the top rope. He wasn’t pinned and nor did he submit, he felt he deserved a shot at Edge before anyone on the roster. John Cena came out to the ring and objected to what Triple H had just said. After a long period of insult trading, Cena asked “The Game” what he has done lately. Triple H would respond to a Pedigree to Cena, but he would eventually reverse into the F-U.

Lita told Maria that Edge will not be coming to RAW this week as she and the WWE Champion would have a sex celebration of Edge’s first title defense.

Kurt Angle interrupted a tag team match between The Heart Throbs and Snitsky/Tomko and destroyed all 4 competitors. Daivari would accompany him to the ring with a briefcase in his hand and according to Angle, it contained his nearly expired RAW contract. Angle was getting sick of the crowd chanting “You Suck” each every time he walks down the rampway. He was also sick of RAW letting his contract expire. He claimed that the time for complaining was over. He took out the contract and ripped it into pieces. Angle said that since they were in Orlando, maybe he would walk down to Universal Studios where people would actually appreciate a Wrestling Machine such as him. Angle and Daivari walked out through a booing crowd and out of the arena, making a stop at the T-Shirt taking all of his Shirts with him.

Rob Van Dam AKA Mr. Royal Rumble 2006 was in action tonight against Carlito. During the match, Carlito tried to play Rob Van Dam’s game by dropkicking a steel chair right into his face. It didn’t work as RVD still cam out on top with the Five Star Frog Splash.

After the match, Chris Masters ambushed Carlito backstage. He slapped on The Masterlock and made Carlito pass out.

Todd Grisham asked RVD if he has made his mind up on whether to stay on RAW or go to Smackdown! Rob Van Dam smiled and said he didn’t and it has only been 24 hours. “Everything is cool when you are Rob. Van. Dam.”

As mentioned earlier on, Big Show and Kane defended their titles against a bizarre team called “The Spirit Squad.” They are a 5 man group of male cheerleaders and surprisingly, the unstoppable duo of Kane and Big Show were stopped dead in their tracks. After doing a cheer, The Spirit Squad charged and almost instantly started playing the numbers game. It was 5 on 2, even though it was a tag team match. Kane was distracted by one of the Squad members on the outside as the rest took Big Show out with 4 consecutive moonsaults, (while the ref was knocked out) for the victory and the titles.

Shelton Benjamin defeated Eugene and the returning Goldust in a No. 1 contenders match for the Intercontinental Championship with his mother at ringside.

Match Results

Spirit Squad def Big Show and Kane for the World Tag Team Championships

Shelton Benjamin def Eugene and Goldust

Rob Van Dam def Carlito

The Heart Throbs VS Tyson Tomko and Gene Snitsky (No Contest)

Triple H def Ric Flair

Good event there man. Hope you'll build from it in the right way.

Good to see Mark Henry losing. Keep him far far away from anything that looks like a title.....or a job <_< Didn't see RVD winning that at all. Could be a good choice if you book things well enough. I didn't like Taker's exit though.

Remember......Undertaker as champion = Ratingz~!

I think JBL going over Boogeyman was the right way to go and I was somewhat surprised when I saw it go the other direction in real life.

I think you handled the debut of The Spirit Squad very well with the 5-on-2 tag team match and the four consecutive moonsaults.

Batista over Mark Henry was a no-brainer as Henry's no where near Championship material. Sort of glad to see it happened now though instead of writing Batista off

Big round of applause towards the following:

Edge over John Cena was perfect and it left a sickening taste in my mouth when Cena got the title back in real life making Edge a stupid rediculous transitional champion

RVD winning the rumble to go onto WrestleMania

Making the Royal Rumble the last match on the Pay Per View :shifty:

Only thing that irked me was the way you make RVD's interiew on RAW. Building up suspense to when he'll take his title shot was understandable but the everything's cool when your blah blah blah. I don't think anyone who saw the first One Night Stand's going to buy into everything being cool when your RVD when he's clearly pissed about his limited vocabulary supplied by WWE. Other than that though, it's all been good. Keep it up.

The Road To Wrestlemania

Jan. 27, 2006

The United States champion cleared up the controversy. Booker T had a number of reasons as to why he forfeited his Royal Rumble number. First of all, he was happy with what he had, the United States championship. Secondly, even though the doctor had cleared him to wrestle, he felt that he still had problems. Thirdly, Booker forfeited the number to Randy Orton to pay back one of his debts.

Smackdown! GM Theodore Long then had a major announcement regarding the Wrestlemania main event. This marked the second year that a Smackdown! superstar has not been able to win the Royal Rumble. Long booked an 8 man “Road To Wrestlemania 22” tournament to take place starting this week. Booker T would be exempt from the tournament. Booker and Sharmell protested but Long told him to “get ta steppin.”

Network Executive Palmer Cannon made a rare appearance, asking Long to reconsider his decision about having Booker T exempt from the tournament as it wouldn’t help the ratings. Teddy Long simply reminded him that he called the shots and he stuck by his decision.

In the first round match, Chris Benoit took on Matt Hardy. Benoit reversed the Twist Of Fate into a crippler croosface, making Hardy tap out. Benoit advances to the second round. JBL took on the Undertaker in another tournament first round match. JBL claimed that a Wrestling God such as him should not be in the ring with The Booogeyman. JBL compared Boogeyman and Undertaker, calling them both “freaks.” Jillian Hall, JBL’s fixer was not with him as she was getting facial surgery.

The Undertaker advanced to the second round of the tournament. The Deadman ducked under a Clothesline from hell and capitalized with the Chokeslam and the Tombstone piledriver for the victory. The Undertaker seems to be the odds on favorite in the Road To Wrestlmania 22 tournament

The World Heavyweight champion Batista said that he does not care who the tournament winner is. After Wrestlemania 22, it will be his second year as champion.

Mark Henry didn’t agree with that statement. He said that at the Royal Rumble, it wasn’t speed or strength that defeated him, it was a steel chair. Henry challenged Batista to a steel cage match at No Way Out promising him to show him what Mark Henry was all about. Mark Henry then took on Bobby Lashley. The match was not very long as Henry used his massive strength throw Lashley out of the ring and into the crowd barrier. Lashley was counted out.

Kid Kash was set to defend his Cruiserweight championship against a mystery opponent. Before the match, Kash announced that he deserved to go into “bigger” and better things. He also claimed that he was better than the entire cruiserweight division on Smackdown!

Gregory Helm’s played throughout the arena. The RAW superstar had jumped ship in order to capture the Cruiserweight championship. Kash clotheslined Helms off the apron before he even got into the ring! The match was fast paced and Kid Kash dominated in the early minutes of the match-up. Helms kicked Kash on the head out of nowhere. Helms then hit his old finishing move, The Vertebreaker for the Cruiserweight championship.

Finlay defeated Scotty 2 Hotty, Finlay then added insult to injury as he spat on Scotty’s face and bashed him with a steel chair.

Chris Benoit and the man who eliminated him at the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton had a heated confrontation backstage. Benoit simply slapped the taste out of Orton’s mouth and walked away.

WWE RAW Preview

Jan. 30, 2006

This week’s RAW will be a busy one to say the least as not one, two, three but all four titles will be on the line.

Last week, The Spirit Squad unexpectedly defeated the seemingly unstoppable duo of The Big Show and Kane. The former tag team champions have invoked their rematch clause and it will be The Spirit Squad VS Kane and Big Show again. Was it all just a fluke?

Shelton Benjamin is out of his slump and has been on a roll as of late. It is all thanks to his Mother that Shelton has regained his confidence. Shelton hopes to continue his streak by gaining the Intercontinental championship this week. Will Ric Flair’s experience win over Shelton Benjamin’s athleticism?

Trish Stratus will defend her Women’s championship against Mickie James on RAW. Trish’s obsessed fan defeated Ashley to become the No. 1 contender at the Royal Rumble with Trish as special referee.

Also, at the beginning of the month, at New Year’s Revolution, Edge invoked his Money In The Bank clause in order to defeat John Cena to win the WWE Championship. At the Royal Rumble, John Cena “cashed in” on his rematch clause but was unable to win. Cena and Edge will face off one more time for the championship gold.

Night Of Champions 2

Jan. 30, 2006

The new General Manager of RAW, Shane McMahon declared tonight “The Night of Champions.” All of RAW’s championship belts were going to be defended, including the WWE Championship.

The main event was John Cena Vs Edge. Due to the importance of this match, Cena couldn’t let anything distract him, not even Triple H. “The King of Kings” came out to the ring and said that Edge, Cena and Rob Van Dam were thorns on his path. He claimed that neither of the three man knew what he could do for his 11th WWE championship. He is not afraid to bring out the red stuff for it to say the least. Triple H had no remorse, no conscience and sent out a warning. He was going to be in the Wrestlemania 22 main event, one way or another.

Triple H then took a ringside view at the announce table for the match. He promised that he was not going to get involved in the main event. Lita was at ringside and DID get involved in the match. She tried give her man a title retain via disqualification loss. Cena quickly planted Lita with the F-U and locked on the STF-U making her pass out and eliminating her from the equation. Edge was furious now, Cena picked Edge up for the F-U. The WWE Champion would then frantically flail his arms and legs around Knocking Out the referee perhaps on purpose. Triple H would then make his way down the rampway while Cena had the STF-U locked in on the WWE Champion. Triple H came up behind Cena, broke the hold and delievered a vicious Pedigree. The King of Kings would then walk away, Edge would then regain conciousness at the same time as referee Mike Chioda. Edge would then go on to steal another one.

Even though he was no longer the interim GM, Mr. Mcmahon was on RAW. He claimed that he had something urgent to say to Shawn Michaels. Mcmahon agreed on giving Michaels a shot at the WWE championship next week. Mr. McMahon did not want to feel responsible for Michaels’ elimination at the Royal Rumble. Michaels was suspicious but he reluctantly agreed on the offer. Later on the night, Edge lashed out at RAW interviewer for having to defend his title two weeks straight. Well, one down and one to go.

The Intercontinental championship was on the line as Shelton Benjamin took on Ric Flair. As usual, Shelton’s momma came out at ringside and maybe watch her son win his second Intercontinental championship. That would not happen though, as Shelton charged at Flair during one point of the match up. Flair would sidestep causing Shelton to launch right on top of his momma. She appeared to be unconscious as Shelton and the medics tended to her. The match was ruled a No Contest.

Spirit Squad members Johnny and Kenny defended the World Tag Team championships against The Big Show and Kane. Big Show could not be more focused but something else was on the mind of Kane. The Big Show dominated the early minutes of the match-up but he quickly ran out of stamina. He tried to make a hot tag to Kane, but he walked away. Kane briefly looked at the tag team title by picking it up. Spirit Squad member Mitch distracted the referee as the rest of them lifted and slammed Big Show with the “High Spirits.” Kenny then hit a leg drop on Show winning by pinfall. Kane threw the belts in the ring, practically gift wrapping them for The Spirit Squad before walking away. The Squad did a special cheer backstage, celebrating their victory.

Mickie James had a shocking confession to make to Trish Stratus. It turns out that the reason for her obsession with Trish was because Mickie loved her. The Women’s champion was certainly uncomfortable, she simply walked away without saying anything. During their match later on, Trish reversed a stratusfaction attempt from Mickie into a small package for the title retain.

The Royal Rumble winner of 2006, Rob Van Dam picked up another win against Chris Masters. After recieveng a Five Star Frog Splah, Masters was on the mat writhing in pain. Carlito came out and spat apples on his face.

Match Results

Rob Van Dam def Chris Masters

WWE Womens Champion Trish Stratus def Mickie James

WWE Intercontinental champion Ric Flair VS Shelton Benjamin (No Contest)

World Tag Team champions Spirit Squad def The Big Show and Kane

WWE Champion Edge def John Cena
