The 10 movies I think that everyone should see for various and sundry reasons, as they are/were all influential to me for different reasons. In no order:

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

Citizen Kane (seriously the best movie ever made, even if you already know what Rosebud is, watch it if you haven't)

Matrix (the first only)

The Empire Strikes Back

Raiders Of The Lost Ark

Mullholland Drive (so many viewings, and so many different ideas as to what I watched)

Shawshank Redemption

Field Of Dreams

Evil Dead II

Memento

And for a few others, mostly due to storytelling, some awesome directing, or really great acting I would offer up:

May

Cabin Fever

Dark City

Jaws

The Godfather

The Godfather Pt. 2

Goodfellas

Field of Dreams

This is Spinal Tap

Grosse Pointe Blank

Pulp Fiction

Rushmore

Wet Hot American Summer

Groundhog Day

Kingpin

A few more comedies than most people, but I feel each of them brings something unique to the table.

I also must give BlackFlagg some props for mentioning Pump Up the Volume. It wouldnt be on my must-see list but that's one underrated flick. Great pick.
