Monday Night RAW

From the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York.

Steel Cage, chico! After RAW's themed opening, Razor Ramon comes out to the ring with a microphone. He begins thrash-talking Tatanka saying that he has just been lucky, with the wins he has gotten over Ramon. He proceeds to tell why he is out here. He wants to challenge Tatanka to a Steel Cage match, at the Royal Rumble. And he aslo wants an answer now! Ramon did'nt have to wait as Tatanka came storming out, and quickly attacked Ramon. After he took Ramon down with a clothesline, Tatanka calls out a referee.

Razor Ramon vs. Tatanka Tatanka has the advantage as the match starts, because of the clothesline. Tatanka then grabs Ramon and drags him up. But Ramon counters a gets the momentumon his side. Then he begins barraging Tatanka, with right and lefts. It continues with Ramon as the leader of the match, using quick moves to get Tatanak off his game. But just as it seems Ramon is gonna win, Tatanka counters into a small package! The ref counts the three and Tatanka is declared the winner. Then Tatanka grabs a microphone and accepts the challenge, while an angry Razor Ramon looks on.

The Headshrinkers vs. The Bushwhackers In this match it was all Fatu and Samu. They had the match from the start and dominated Butch and Luke with verious power and strength moves. Several sidewalk slams, bodyslams, scoop slams and clotheslines later, it seemed that the Bushwhackers had builded up a little momentum, Afa stopped it by grabbing Luke's leg, while Fatu complained with the referee. Meanwhile, Samu had taken care of Butch and before Luke got back in the match, Samu had delivered an apron legdrop to Luke's head. Fatu was quick to grab Luke and hit a Samoan Drop for the cover and the victory.

Low taxes, bad business and the Steiners are even worse! Money Inc. comes out, recieveing huge heat while they make their way to the ring. THey seem pissed off as they begin to taunt the Steiner Brothers, calling them weiners and other annoying things. They also give a biased hype, guaranteeing a win over the Steiners. Just then, the Steiners comes rushing out! A referee is quick to follow and the match is on.

Money Inc. vs. The Steiner Brothers This tag match starts with a wild brawl. Both teams bang eachother up, but within a few minutes the ref has got it under control. Rick Steiner and Ted DiBiase "starts" out. Rick seems to have control, but soon DiBiase takes over. After a beat-down, DiBiase tags in Schyster. But Rick tag out to Scott as well. Scottt and Schyster begins a brawl, which Scott gets the upper hand on soon. It continues this way, with frequent tags and the momentum shifting. By the end, DiBiase has just locked in the Million Dollar Dream and Shyster and Scott are having a wild brawl on the outside. Rick seems as if he is about to faint, but suddenly he gets an adrenaline rush! He ushers all his power and getts to his feet! Then he fights out of the Million Dollar Dream, Steinerlines DiBiase, drags him up bounds him off the ropes and hits the Bulldog! He covers and the referee counts the three! Just as the ref's hand hit the floor for a third time, Scott smashes Schyster's head into the ring post. As he realizes they've won, he erupts in happiness and he and Rick walk away from the ring under cheers and with their arms raised.

He's coming, beware! A vignette is played hyping the debut of Lex Luger. We see him lifting weights and training and a voice-over tells us that he debut in the Rumble match.

Bret Hart and Owen Hart vs. Yokozuna Owen and Bret comes out to huge ovation and the climb in the ring and does a quick promo, hyping the match and taunting Shawn Micheals and Yokozuna. They are abruptly cut off, as Yokouzuna comesout accompanied by Micheals. As the sumo get in the ring, the match begins. First the Harts try to double team Yokozuna, but they just can't seem to get a real advantage. Yokozuna then grounds them, first with a double clothesline, then with a butt drop on Bret and an elbow drop on Owen. The match continues with Yokozuna controlling the two brothers, with giant versions of simple moves. This continues to about the end of the match, where the ref has been knocked out and Micheals is about to deliver his superkick to Bret. But Bret ducks and Yokozuna is hit instead! Owen and Bret double clotheslines Micheals out of the ring, then quickly head back to Yokozuna. The crowd goes wild as Bret and Owen shows immense strength and does a double suplex on Yokozuna, though quick. Bret covers and the referee is revived for the Harts to score a win.

Quick little nitpick: Around that time, Michaels was still using a back suplex as his finisher, not the Sweet Chin Music. I know that's something somewhat insignificant, but still, details in retro diaries tend to help.

Other than that...

I like the recap style, it has an interesting magazine-type feel to it that, while some may not like it, is decidedly original, and is also informative. I like where this is going, and can't wait to see more.

But if at all possible, could you not bring back Hogan? PLEASE?
