Makes speed runs interesting, when I have no real interest in them. Exactly! I used to watch siglemic on occasion a few years ago when he did Super Mario 64 runs, but nothing at all since then, never really had an interest. They're just such an easy watch, and it's such a random thing to binge but it's all so well made, written and explained that it just draws you in. Bobfoc
There's Nintendo Direct tomorrow. I'd have thought that it would be about the Switch's paid online service. I hope there's more to it than has been indicated because otherwise, all they're doing for me is holding Splatoon 2 to ransom.
apsham
Civ6 is coming to the Switch on November 16th.
Gabriel
I'm still waiting on a release date for Stick of Truth. They said it would be on the eShop by September, but still no news.

Bobfoc
Civ 6 will almost certainly be stripped down, but having it on a portable sounds good. Mega Man 11 and Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition have also been announced. I think they would have been part of the scheduled Direct, which was postponed due to the earthquake in Japan. apsham
Nothing really makes me think that it's going to be striped down, it states that it comes with all the latest updates, etc from the PC version in the press release.
Bobfoc
Interesting. My worry would be how quickly it will run, given the strain on the processor when you get to the later stages of a game. However, glancing at reviews of the iPad version, that apparently isn't as much of a problem as you'd think. I'm intrigued now.
Bobfoc
It looks as though some Switch games, like Pokemon: Let's Go, Splatoon 2, Dark Souls, Dead Cells, FIFA 19 and NBA 2k19, won't support cloud saves when the Switch's online service launches. When such a "feature" is behind a paywall, that's pretty poor form.
apsham
Honestly, the Xbox is they only console that does it right.

It seems a lot of the stuff they're releasing are games already released on other systems. That said, I am super stoked for Super Mario Party.
Mx. Canadian Destroyer
Oh yeah, Mario Party, Mario Kart, Civ (which runs super slow on my computer), Overcooked (which I could just get on PS4), Mario Tennis. So mostly Mario games.
Gabriel
For me, it's the Mario games and Zelda when I finally get around to grabbing it, that pulled me in. I have hope that other titles will draw my interest. Dead Cells looks solid as hell. And there are games being released that were on other consoles, but I feel like will be better on the Switch. I haven't played The Fractured but Whole yet, but Stick of Truth was so much fun. I'll be snagging the first one when it hits the eShop so that I can play through again, and my wife can play it. Then I will grab the second. There's so much possible with the system, that if Nintendo continues to work with other developers, continues to put out strong first party titles and makes the device capable of using streaming apps like Netflix, Shudder, CraveTV, WWE Network, the NHL Network, etc etc... that there is so much use for the system both at home and on the go. I'm also holding out hope that there's a return to the more classic style of fun sports titles... a Marvel based action game would be really cool too. If I didn't already own it on the PS4, I'd be picking up BroForce on the Switch this month. In fact, if you haven't played it, pick up BroForce... BRO! Meacon Keaton
Yeah, I'm in it for the Mario games too. I have no desire to play games I've already played just because it's now on the Switch. Mario Kart. Mario Odyssey. Mario Party. And hopefully, one day, the Yoshi game that was advertised at launch. Mx. Canadian Destroyer
I also just like the idea of being able to play it on the bus to work.
apsham
There's games I wouldn't bother playing anywhere but the Switch now. Dead Cells is one of them.
Sousa
Civ 6 runs just fine on my Extremely Ancient PC with a graphics card that's pushing 5-6 years old--I have to dial back some graphics things (and the leaders don't animate at all), but it'd absolutely be doable on the Switch. From the sound of it, it's the complete basic game and the four DLC leaders (Australia, Norway, Khmer, and Poland IIRC). Sounds like it's not Rise & Fall yet, which is unfortunate because that's the version I like, but honestly the biggest mechanic things I'll miss are the way R&F made governments a little better (legacy bonuses as policy cards). America and France are gonna suck again. ...and Governors, dammit.
Ruki
Woah! I've never heard of Mercenaries Saga Chronicles until now...but it looks awesome! It looks just like Final Fantasy Tactics.
Your Mom
I'm not honestly sure why I even own a Switch. I think I'm more in love with the idea of owning a Nintendo system than actually owning one.
