It's fantastic. I still watch it, and so does one of my mates so we get loads of quotes flowing. I won't order my characters because I like most of them in their own individual and quirky way, but my favourites are Chandler and Ross for the laughs, everyone else provides something - but not as much as they do to me.

Nothing better than starting a conversation with your friend going "wasssuuuup?" like Ross. >_>

I thought Courtney went for Rachel and Jennifer went for Monica and the writers flipped them round...

According to Wikipedia, Courtney Cox did go for the Rachel part, which I didn't know, and that the writers originally wanted Jennifer Aniston for the role of Monica but she convinced them she'd be better as Rachel.

Massive fan. Got the first five series for Xmas, the last five are coming for my b'day in a coupla weeks.

I can't really choose favourites, as I go through phases with them. I always thought of Joey as unsophisticated rather than necessarily unintelligent, as he has his moments. Chandler had moments of self-parody, but the scene where he walks in on Joey and Ross talking dirty to each other is my favourite scene in any show or movie - ever.

As for the girls... Monica was the character who annoyed me the most, but she still had her moments. Phoebe could be really funny, when she wasn't being weird for the sake of being funny. I thought she had real chemistry with Mike. Rachel had the biggest emotional arc, looking back.

As for Ross... I really like him in the early series, but around the time he breaks up with Rachel he descends into a nutjob loon that he doesn't entirely break out of until him and Rachel have a kid together, like five years later. Although I do like him, I just can't watch some of his stuff from this time.

Anyone have a standout favourite episode? I think I have to go for TOW The East German Laundry Detergent, if only for Chandler breaking up with Janice...

Ross is at his best the more neurotic he is, it's fantastic. When he starts calling himself "The Divorce Force" in one episode; comedy gold.

Also, "Dude, I am one sorry....polentologist".

The scene that always cracked me up was when Chandler is wearing a Santa Claus outfit and Ross is wearing a turtle/armadillo hybrid

Chandler: "I've come by to say Merry Christmas to my good buddy Ben. And what are you doing here Weird...Turtle man?"

Also

Rachel: My god its like the easter bunnys funeral in here

I love it, although recently I've grown slightly more fond of Scrubs. One of my favourite scenes in this show, though, is in the episode (one of the first few seasons IIRC... could've been S6 too though) where Ross has a new girlfriend, Rachel's jealous about her and the whole gang travel to Phoebe's mother's beach house. Joey sleeps on the floor of the house and Chandler creates a pair of boobs made of sand on his chest, so that he kinda looks like a mermaid or something. Everybody's watching when Joey wakes up... at first, he's stunned about breasts but after a few seconds, the shock on his face turns to a smug smile and nodding of head in approval... greatness.

Joe's probably my fav. part of the show, too. Chandler is on a shared number one place with him for the first few seasons (After Joey gets a role, playing Al Pacino's butt in a scene where he's taking a shower: "It's good to see that after all these years you have finally managed to crack your way into show business") but then he kinda goes downhill, though still staying great. Whereas Ross turns from, as he was always to me, the third guy into something brilliant; all the nervousness etc. For some reason I don't really like the girls at all except for Monica, who I basically like because of the 'I know!'-thing.

The One With The Unagi and The One With The Blackout are probably my all time favourites.

You see I always loved the one with the Geller Cup. Just because of this:

Chandler: "Dutch people come from somewhere near the Netherlands right Joey?"

Joey: "Nice try. You see, the Netherlands is this make believe place where Peter Pan and Tinkerbell come from."

Friends is pretty much my favorite show ever and one of the few shows I've followed since almost the start.

If I was to start naming favorite episodes, moments, etc, I'd be here all day. Actually, I started to do a list of favorites and was typing for 20 minutes before I realized there was no end in sight.

I'll just add this. My favorite short scene starts at 2:10 of this clip.

Admittedly, Friends is probably the saddest obsession in my life, I own all the seasons on DVD and have seen each episode a million times. Seriously. It's already on TV literally 10 times a day and if I'm bored I'll watch an episode or two from my DVDs. Usually when I'm doing school work I'll throw on a DVD and just let it play in the background. It eases the tension, makes writing a paper a little less stressful. And I'll go through all the seasons in order too, which is what I've been doing since I finished watching season 10 when it came out.

Okay...I HATED "Friends"...part of the problem may have been the 'random episodes' channel 4 did...but for whatever reason I started downloading them, in order...and DAMN...I love it!

The weird thing was...I knew about the 'Ross/Rachel' shit...but I never really seemed to catch any of the episodes where it was prominent...so whilst I 'knew' it was a big deal, I never really 'knew' it was a big deal...if you catch my drift. :shifty:

Anyways...I'm coming to the end of Season 4 and I already feel the quality slipping somewhat. I've heard it picks back up in the later series...but I dunno, it's kind of gotten bland. 1 and 2 were awesome. 3 and 4 are both somewhat hit and miss (With 3 being much better), with some great episodes, but some dull ones.

My favourite episodes so far;

TOW The Blackout

TOW Nana Dies Twice

TOW Heckles Dies

TOW Ross & Rachel...You Know

TOW Barry & Mindy's Wedding (probably purely for Joey)

TOW No One's Ready

TOW Ross & Rachel Take A Break/TO The Morning After

TOW The Free Porn

Characters In Order (As of Season 4);

1. Joey

2. Rachel

-------------

3. Ross

4. Chandler

5. Phoebe

6. Monica

And comic gold!!

Rachel: "OH GOD! Oh honey...that's okay"

Ross: "What? Oh no, you just rolled over the juice box"

Rachel: "Thank God"

I literally burst out laughing at that...which is basically the only time outside of 'Joey related shenanigans' I've done that so far.

Emma kinda faded into the background for the last couple of series, because she's a nuisance quite frankly >_>

Am I the only one who would have preferred the last episode ending with Rachel going to Paris, without all that phone call mumbojumbo?

Oh, and in order:

1. Chandler

2. Ross

3. Joey

4. Monica

5. Rachel

6. Phoebe - and a distant six at that.
