He is the Bobby Charlton of the new millennium.

I am excited to eventually see his comb over flopping in the wind.

Where does Jack Wilshere fit coming back into this team? With captain Gerrard being undroppable of course.

I don't see a panic, we've only got three centre mids in the current squad, and presuming Lamps has probably played his last tournament and Gerrard, Parker and Barry have one at best there's plenty of time for Wilshere, Rodwell, Cleverley or whoever to come through. In the short term Gerrard could play more advanced ahead of Parker and Wilshere if need be, otherwise rotating.

As well as the Scotland game, The FA has also announced intentions to schedule further high-profile fixtures to mark their 125th anniversary. They've also revealed a friendly against Italy to be played in Berne, Switzerland, on Wednesday 15 August, England's first match after Euro 2012.

The last time England took on the Azzurri was in 2002, losing 2-1 at Elland Road to a Vincenzo Montella brace.

It's for the 150th anniversary of the FA because it was formed in 1863. The first FA Cup was in 1971 so it couldn't possibly be 125.

1971 you say!? :P

Q: How do you think this England team would fare in the Premiership? (@haddockheaven)

A: "I think this team would be pushing for a Champions League place. They are hard to beat and Roy Hodgson has set them up well, so they would not concede many in the Premier League. Also, they are always likely to grab a goal as they have scored in 16 successive matches.

"You could compare this England team to Newcastle. England may not have a flare player like Demba Ba, but Newcastle were hard to beat last season and always capable of scoring.

"The spirit must also be mentioned because it is very special. Having this kind of spirit will take them a long, long way."

It's an interesting question - how would this England team fare in the league?
