Noooooooooooooooooot quite. Shooting through a flashlight would mean your bullet trajectory would be significantly altered. Watch the Mythbusters episode relating to shooting through a scope or pretty much any myth where they shoot something at close range. The minute the bullet contacts something it's trajectory is altered significantly. Shooting through a flashlight, unless you bored it out first, would only serve to cause your bullets to fly out at odd angles with diminished velocity.

and its not like Rick is shooting zombies from hundreds of yards away with the improvised silencer. Everytime someone is shown using an improvised silencer, its from point blank range, so the change in trajectory wouldn't be a huge factor.

Are people really arguing about suppressors in a show about zombies? In a show where everyone gets head shots from any distance? I really don't think it matters, or the grass length for that matter. Its a tv show.

However I still have a problem with Rick and Glen masking themselves as Zombies in season 1 but in season 2 they can just hide under cars since it goes against the rules they set for themselves.

Just because people are expected to suspend their disbelief at the fact that zombies can exist in this world, it doesn't mean that they should suspend their disbelief about everything else. That's like saying it'd be okay if a fucking unicorn came down from heaven and Hitler rose up from hell and a giant fucking war started between the gods/survivors and hitler/zombies. It's okay that this is happening because if fucking ZOMBIES exist...

This arguement is obviously going to go nowhere. Every piece of fiction in the creation of ever has things that aren't totally 100% believable/accurate to real life, you just need to learn to not care about the little things that have no real impact on anything.

For example, Rick shoots his 6 shooter 8 times without reloading.... Who cares.

Rick shows us he only has 2 bullets left then shoots 3 times... Problem.

The argument here isn't that there are things that aren't believable. It's using the excuse that zombies are a thing allows for other implausible things to be plausible. If you're going to argue for implausible things, just talk about how it shouldn't matter, don't dismiss it just because a thematic plot point is also implausible.

They were able to do that because the cars themselves were covered in gore/had rotting bodies. If you notice, Sophia's car that she chose to hide under is really the only clean one.

I never mow my backyard because we don't have a sprinkler system in most of it (It's a big open field) and the grass never grows more than ankle high.

My point is its a show about zombies, stop worrying about little details that don't effect the plot of the show.

If it was a cop or spy show, something like silencer mechanics might matter. In the Walking Dead it really doesn't.

Zombies represent hand-out loving liberals and and the whole show is basically just a glorification of the right-wing

SUPPRESSORS ON GUNS DO NOT WORK THE WAY HOLLYWOOD THINKS THEY WORK. To argue about silences in film is fucking stupid, since silencers don't actually make things silent, and Hollywood will never make them realistic!

They should really be called... mufflers? Cause they really just muffle the sound a bit, but not to the degree you hear in movies. Also, there's already something called mufflers.
