EWB's Favourite Artist 2009

Yeah...I actually started the 2008 one in August and voting ended mid-September. :o So here we go again :D

1. You have 10 votes for your 'favourite' band. There will be no nomination stage, your order will go towards the final list.

2. You MUST order your list from 1-10...with 1 being your favourite band, 10 being your 10th favourite.

3. Alter Bridge votes are discarded and the rest of your votes count as negatives towards those bands, as your musical judgement will be questioned.

4. All votes must be made in this thread.

5. SCORING. 1-10 will be awarded 10-1. The current plan is that the total number accumulated by a band will then be multiplied by the number of people who voted for the band.

eg. Radiohead receive 4 votes, placing 1, 3, 10 and 10 on the lists. Therefore they'll have 10+8+1+1=20 points, which will then be multiplied by the 4, giving them 80 points.

6. Any ARTIST, alive, dead or other, is eligible for voting.

7. If you edit your list, please make a new post please make a new post notifying me of the edit.

8. Don't post pictures. It's a bitch for me when tallying.

I think this is as close to a 'top 10 ever' list I'll get, done in my usual way of a couple modern bands who deserve low spots (HBMS, LC!, Frank), bands who need to be in and who you should all feel ashamed of for not voting for (Beatles, Smiths, De La Soul), bands who have an outside shot of getting in and need a little shove (Hendrix, Deftones, Power) and the obligatory Reuben vote because otherwise Dragsy will maim me.

Oh balls, Tom Waits. Hmmm... Fuck it, HBMS can go, they only released one album worth listening to (seriously, 'So, how's your girl...' has aged terribly), and I think I'm going to alter the order too. I mean, I'd rather vote high on Frank, LC! and the like then sure-fire top spotters like the Smiths and the Beatles.

Totally false.

... well, no, some of the tracks wear out their welcome really quick, but the shit that's good is still really good.

I think that seriously 1-4 will never change (except the order depending on how I feel) unless something magnificent appears to me in some kind of far-out vision one day.
