I need blood.

I'm working on a style for a forum, and I want to make the images based on ritual sacrifice. One of them in particular will be a bowl, and then a bowl filled with a pool of blood. My problem has been finding realistic blood tutorials; most of them are for either scars, which I have my own method of emulating that usually produces better results, or plain suck. Can anyone help me out with making a liquid blood pool that I can use?

I found that but that doesn't really look realistic whatsoever. I might try that and see if I can modify the settings to make it look less crap, but as it is.

I don't suppose you have to use blood too often in your profession eh.

Why don't you just get a photo of blood?

See, that's the other option I'm considering. I've not found a good, usable stock through my normal means, which leaves only one other logical option.
