The January Transfer Window 2011

£6 Mill seems about fair in January. By "fair" I mean more than he's worth but it's the Jan market so everyone tends to go for more than they are worth. Plus Brum really need some goals. I'm strangly curious at the idea of a Keane/Miller partnership, and Scottish footy followers care to say if Miller is any good or can only score against the shitter teams?

Miller is good. He used to be a great assistant, he'd feed Boyd tons of goals, and he ran his ass off up and down the field, but since taking over as a lone striker he's lost a bit of his industrious workrate. He's still in the form of his life though, he's scoring goals for fun here. But look at Boyd, highest goal scoring record in the SPL and he's struggling like hell at Middlesborough.

Jones is a vastly underrated holding midfielder, I feel. He's of great quality, and Blackburn are incredibly lucky to be bringing him in. Stoke can go fuck off, however. Pulis is an annoying little twat, to be honest, and that feeling grows stronger now that they're seemingly going to snatch Ba away from us.

Did you's put a bid in? I thought it was just rumoured interest. I can see either Gudjohnson or Tuncay possibly moving or wanting to with Ba coming in.

I think Tuncay already has set his sights away from Stoke, this was in the news yesterday;

Stoke City attacker Tuncay is using Facebook to get himself a move away.

He has helped put himself in the shop window by posting a video of his top 10 goals – on Facebook.

The 29-year-old is desperate to quit the Britannia Stadium after starting only three Premier League games this season.

And I think Gudjohnsen is in a similar boat as he has only made 5 appearences for Stoke since signing at the end of August, I can't imagine he's happy especially with him coming to the end of his career, he's obviously gonna want to be playing as much as possible.

I could tell Gudjohnsen wouldn't be the ZOMG GREAT SIGNING~! everyone was touting when Stoke signed him because they hadn't exactly done a stellar job with Tuncay. Surely they'd just be better recruiting people who can throw far (not necessarily a footballer, since I'm not sure Rory Delap is) and built big since they don't seem to be playing to the strengths of the decent footballers they've bought. And another goalscoring midfielder a la Etherington, maybe Matty Talor or something.

Stoke fan here. I don't think Stoke are the dirty, physical long ball specialists that everyone (in the media,at least) makes us out to be but i am disappointed that Tuncay wants away as i seem to rate him much higher than Pulis does. Still happy with the Demba Ba signing, i've heard positive things about him.

I've never seen anyone throw-in like Delap does it, it's not just the distance he gets, it's the way the throw is more flat and direct, rather than high and looped. I'm not sure he is replaceable.

Stone Cold, what do you think of Michael Tonge? He's on your books, just been called back from loan at Preston I think? He was always highly rated when he was at Sheffield United but since he moved to Stoke he hasn't had many games. I only ask because I went to school with the lad and big things were predicted for him back then too.

To be fair, i rated him when he was with Sheff Utd but he never really got a chance to shine with us, most of his appearances were as a sub. I think he's a good Championship level player and he didn't seem too bad when he player in the Prem for Sheff U so i wish we gave him some more games. He'll probably go back out on loan or be sold off, we only recalled him because Darren Ferguson got sacked from Preston.

Tonge just never seemed to kick on when he was in his early 20s, after he did this against Liverpool in the League-Cup Semi-Finals in 2003, I thought for sure a Premier League club was gonna come in for him then.

Fast forward to about 4mins20

He's still only 27 though so with a bit of luck he might get another crack at the Prem, but I think you're right, he's a Championship class player at the moment.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has revealed Michael Mancienne will remain on loan at the club for the rest of the season.

MK Dons have snapped up Queens Park Rangers striker Rowan Vine on a month-long loan deal.

According to reports in German magazine Kicker, Ruud van Nistelrooy has told Hamburg he wants to be allowed to rejoin Real Madrid. The veteran Dutchman has been lined up as a short-term solution for Real's current striking troubles.

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Lyon midfielder Jean II Makoun. The Cameroon international has signed a contract until 2014 and has cost in the region of £6million.

Interesting about van Nistelrooy, he's after one last swan-song at the top I reckon. And when will Wolves sign Mancienne on a permanent, he's been on loan at Wolves now for like three years!
