My god...the ending there, amazing. Such a sneaky fucking bastard!

He is awesome though. It tells so much about this show that I thought this was the best episode so far ALTHOUGH my favorite character didn't appear once. As soon as the first season is over I'm going to drop everything else and read the books.

If Community hadn't been as strong as it was, this show would be my #1of 2011 for sure.

Yeah, for me the Community/Parks and Rec. wall is the only thing keeping it from #1 show of 2011. And with Mad Men delayed until 2012 it's going to take something truly incredible to top it as the best TV drama of '11.

The scene with Drogo declaring that he would cross the 'Poison Sea' and '[destroy] the men in iron suits' has firmly cemented this as one of my favourite shows. In terms of first season, this may well be topping LOST for me so far.

Would it make more sense to watch the TV programme after the book, or read the book first? I'm guessing it doesn't really matter, but I have the episodes of the TV programme queued up, but also have the book ready to read also.

I haven't touched the books yet and I still understand what is going on. I may not remember the names of everyone but its not like I'm completely lost. I'd watch the show and maybe after the first season is over start with the books?

Finally watching last weeks episode as I wait for tonight's one to be uploaded. Khal Drogo. King of badassery. Jason Mamoa has sold me on the Conan The Barbarian remake on Episode 7 alone.

Yeah, I tried to read the books alongside and it just didn't seem right. I'm going to watch the series again afterwards and read the book at the same time, sort of like a director's commentary to understand character's motivations better.
