Lol, that's why Lando takes penalties, Clint, not you.

Klinnsman got this one right big time, and a lot of the players had great games. Johnson's work rate was top notch, Bedoya put in the hustle that Klinnsman expected of him, Beckerman was quietly great, Jones had no howlers or real major laspes in concentration, and after a shaky start, Gonzalez was excellent while Goodson was sharp too.

Helped that Chicharito shouldn't have started, and Guardado was useless. While a 3-0 win over El Tri would've been excellent, glad the 2-0 streak continues instead :P

Panama vs. Mexico is the next fixture, and at the Azteca. Mexico then are away to Mexico, while Panama is home against us. Our other match is home vs. Jamaica.

...Anyone else thinking Mexcio could honestly not qualify? Panama and Mexico are on the same GD as well; if Panama can eek a 0-0 draw against Mexico, I could totally see us helping Panama defeat us if it meant no El Tri in Brazil.

Fan-freaking-tastic.

EJ, Goodson, and Beckerman played amazing last night. EJ especially ... THAT is the EJ that used to wear the US shirt.

Just an awesome night. The American Outlaws made a statement last night as well. The atmosphere was incredible.

Huge night for the team with Altidore, Bradley, and others out.

:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: BRAAAAAAZZZIIIILLLLLLL !!!!!!!! ... here we come.

  • 4 weeks later...

Roster for final WCQ:

GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

DEFENDERS (6): DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City) Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy)

MIDFIELDERS (6): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders FC)

It's as strong a squad as we can field with the current injuries. Glad to see Boyd back in and Johannsson as well. Bedoya has been playing very well for Nantes and hopefully it carries over.
