The world club challenge was a good game... missed the start so can't comment on that but there was some great defense played by both teams... Wigan looked like they were easily gaining the metres to get up the field they just couldn't get past the strong sliding defense of St. George...

St. George's defense was awesome in the second half, I was really hoping we'd score at the end to force the golden point, but I think they deserved it overall. Wouldn't suprise me if the same game will grace next year's World Club Challenge.

I'd have to say something like this is how I'm thinking it will end this year ...

1. Dragons

2. Roosters

3. Tigers

4. Raiders

5. Storm

6. Bulldogs

7. Rabbitohs

8. Titans

------

9. Panthers

10. Warriors

11. Eels

12. Broncos

13. Cowboys

14. Sea Eagles

15. Knights

16. Sharks

I think this season will be one of the more competitive in ages... I think the Warriors n Panthers could possibly make the top 8 as well but I just can't seen any of the others making it in...

I didn't get to watch the game cause of work, but I'm glad Souths lost. Can not stand that club at all. Broncos/Cowboys wasn't that bad of a game to watch, but Cowboys can definitely make the 8 even though I had given them no chance at the start of the year. Thurston/Bowen combination is back, and that'll be good enough to get them to reach September.

Decent weekend of footy in the NRL nothing too shocking I don't think... I got 5 out of 8 in our tipping thing...

Was glad to see the Raiders take care of business against the Sharks like they were sposed to... Should be a good year for the Raiders but I'm just hoping they don't settle for a finals spot... They need to aim high and try and solidify a top four position...

Well Lyon was injured, so Foran went to centre and Stewart to 5/8. As soon as we lost Ballin, we were out of it. It seems we can't adapt to the the way the game is playing, or the talent in our side. We don't have the forward pack to bully other people's around anymore, and that is what we keep on trying to do. It may have got us a 40-0 GF win, but it won't get us to the Top 8 if we don't change it up.

  • 2 weeks later...
Widnes have won back their Super League place for the first time since 2005.

The Vikings were chosen ahead of Halifax at Thursday's Rugby Football League announcement at their Red Hall headquarters in Leeds.

Barrow's bid was rejected as they did not meet the RFL criteria.
