2012 NFL Draft Thread

DeCastro and Hightower were my top 2 guys I wanted the Ravens to land. I figured DeCastro was going well before the Ravens would pick but I guessed wrong that if Pittsburgh didn't take Hightower he'd fall to the Ravens.

But in all seriousness, look at the teams landing the late-first round studs this draft. The usual suspects. Pittsburgh and New England.

The David Wilson pick is surprising, but after 2 SB wins I'm not going to question any of Reese's picks. I assumed the Giants were going to take Doug Martin, hence the Bucs swooping in...but Reese has already said Wilson was the #2 back on their draft board (obviously Richardson was #1 despite having no real chance at getting him).

A lot of fans are bitching about the Lions taking Riley Reif (?) at 23. I don't know much about the guy other than scouting reports, but I like the pick based on what I am reading. He's supposedly the the second rated OT in the draft, and can play the right and left side. As it stood before the draft, Jeff Backus is 35 and coming off of elbow surgery, and Gosder Cherilus isn't very good. Our run blocking was mediocre at best, and our most important player is Mathew Stafford, you've got to protect the franchise. On top of that, we play in a division with Julius Peppers and Jarred Allen. I like it, offensive line was as big of a need as anything on defense.

With that said, go and get a CB tomorrow guys, please.
