Man City would be daft not to ditch Pellegrini and go for Klopp now. Of the realistic options to take on the job of rebuilding City, surely Klopp is the best available? I think he is exactly what they need.

Would love to see him come to the Premier League too.

I think the idea is that Klopp is a great team builder, whereas at City there'd be a clash with the higher ups who would want instant success. At Dortmund he had however many years to blood players, identify targets - short and long term - and ease them into the team, and that developed into something that challenged - and eclipsed - the Bayern juggernaut, at least for a few seasons.

Would he be able to do that at City is the big question.

City areheading into a transitional period at the moment though. They're squad is ageing and stale, they need an overhaul. They have the financial muscle to get back to the top fast. If they're clever they'll give Klopp the reins and a good bit of time to get them where he needs to be.

That's clearly the best option.

City would need a big change of personnel in their squad to fit Klopp's style of football, namely they need more energy in there to play his style of pressing. The youngest player they had that started at the weekend was Aguero and he's 26. I don't think Klopp is a good fit for City, unless they really want a manager in to build a legacy rather than the sort of ultra-quick success they have been going for.

But that's exactly why Klopp would be good for them. They need a big change in personnel and you would hope the owners know that. Obviously it is all down to what the owners want and expect and maybe they will just sanction a £200 million spending spree to "rebuild" their squad in FIFA Football fashion.

Objectively, Klopp and a transitional rebuild is what they need, but Mansour et al may not want to go that route.
