EWB's Top Artists of 2012 Voting Thread

Okay, YI is gone and I said last year I would take over doing this. Basically most of the same rules apply, but I made a real important addition.

1. You have 15 votes for your 'favourite' band. There will be no nomination stage, your order will go towards the final list.

2. You MUST order your list from 1-15...with 1 being your favourite band, 15 being your 15th favourite.

3. Alter Bridge votes are discarded and the rest of your votes count as negatives towards those bands, as your musical judgement will be questioned.

4. All votes must be made in this thread.

5. SCORING. 1-15 will be awarded 15-1. The current plan is that the total number accumulated by a band will then be multiplied by the number of people who voted for the band.

eg. Radiohead receive 4 votes, placing 1, 3, 15 and 15 on the lists. Therefore they'll have 15+13+1+1=30 points, which will then be multiplied by the 4, giving them 120 points.

6. Any ARTIST, alive, dead or other, is eligible for voting.

7. If you edit your list, please make a new post notifying me of the edit.

8. Don't post pictures. It's a bitch for me when tallying.

9. Previous winners are not going to have their votes counted this year, so don't vote for them. The four of them go into a hall of fame of sorts as past champions. They are, to the best of knowledge, as follows:

The Beatles, The Gaslight Anthem, Muse, and Metallica

With all that established, vote away!

I don't like the idea of not being able to vote for previous winners, like I pointed out last year, it's not as though we're constantly stuck with the same bands dominating the top positions constantly, but I'll not make a fuss about it.

2. Biffy Clyro

3. Nirvana

4. Stereophonics

5. Frank Turner

6. Soundgarden

7. Smashing Pumpkins

I cannot believe that I didn't even have BNL listed last year - and I never would've thought that The Mountain Goats would worm their way into my ear and just about never leave - pretty much the same with They Might Be Giants. My girlfriend is a huge fan, and I was pretty sure that I'd never get as addicted as her but it just took me finding the right album, and bam - I was ready to go. I'm personally surprised as well that JoCo wasn't my number one last year.
