[EWR] August 1996 - MASTERS Scenario (v2.0 DL)

Recommended Posts

Just a suggestion here, but as you cant put guys as injured at the start of the game, you could put the injured ones (fe. Ahmed Johnson) as managers until their real life recovery. That way you'd avoid the morale loss if you want to keep him out of action.

The handbook and skin are awesome dude, great work.

WWF;

HBK - I'm not sure with his speed being at 90. High 70's would be my estimation.

Owen Hart - Lower brawling a bit, or raise Undertaker's brawl so his brawling is higher.

Flex Kavana/The Rock - lower his charisma and brawling by a notch. He wasn't THAT charismatic at that point in time.

Bret Hart - lower his charisma a bit. him being the equal to HBK is a no-no for me.

Vader - raise his speed to somewhere around low-to-mid 20's. He was quite agile for his size.

Steve Austin - lower his technique. 91 seems too high.

HHH - I'm not sure, but tehcnical could be raised a bit.

Gorilla Monsoon - Change to unsackable.

...Vince bought Marella's shares in the company in exchange for a guarantee of lifetime employment

source; wikipedia (I know, not the most trust worthy place but...

Jerry Lawler - raise overness to lower 80's.

Ultimate Warrior - raise overness by a point or two.

WCW;

Arn Anderson - raise charisma to low/mid 80's.

Rey Misterio Jr - raise speed.

ECW:

Sabu - lower charisma to 77-79

Shane Douglas - raise charisma to 91-92. He cut some badass promos back in those days.

these are just my petty opinions, so feel free to disagree.

I found a couple sites while searching a bit ago, these are rosters of WWF and WCW in 1996 by month. http://www.solie.org/wcw96.txt and http://www.solie.org/wwf96.txt

I found it by looking at an old thread on here. I was wondering if anyone has a picture pack from the 1996 timeframe too? I don't want to use current pics, and I may start trying to assmble some, but not sure how far I'll get and not too likely on kyky.

If you are interested in adding more companies and information let me know. I am trying to find some info on WWC and IWA-PR right now. Or if you have any other feds I can start working on them. I am also looking into the reboot of AWA Superstar of Wrestling that began in 1996 but can't find much info on it right now.

Those are some useful links, thanks man

I too am looking for a useful pic pack for this era, but didn't wanna spend the time putting it together right after I finished the database.

As you see the only other one I added with the AWF which was a shit ass 80's-old school promotion using nothing but 35+ year old wrestlers in 1996. Thought it was a fun edition to the database.

As for other promotions, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna add some more, and already have a list compiled of what was around at this time which I can develop accurate rosters for, thanks to cagematch.net for now, but there are plenty of other sources waiting to be tapped.

Here's a list in order of the first to open to the most recent...

Slammers Wrestling Federation (http://www.cagematch.net/?id=8&nr=315)

Windy City Pro Wrestling (http://www.cagematch.net/?id=8&nr=706)

Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling (http://www.cagematch.net/?id=8&nr=134)

IWA Mid-South (http://www.cagematch.net/?id=8&nr=10)

Some promotions I know I want to put in are Border Championship Wrestling, ECWA, Cleveland All-Pro, All Pro Wrestling, ECCW, IWA Mid-South, Windy City Pro, and Century Wrestling Alliance...the rest will come after those which will take awhile to get into the data...

I found another one- Pennsylvania Championship Wrestling- http://www.cagematch.net/?id=8&nr=106

If you would like I can start trying to gather info for ECWA, I've always wanted a reason to look into their history. I can't give stats for wrestlers or anything, but I can give you any info I find that can assist you.

Yeah man go for it, I could use all the help I can get. I've also had a similar interest in diving into the history of Border City Wrestling as well so I can start on that.

Here's another site with results from WCW Saturday Night in 1996.

I'm thinking Joe Gomez should be a face, as well as The Renegade. I would put Renegade's gimmick at Power And Paint too since he was a knockoff of Ultimate Warrior. I think it would also be okay to remove Terry Taylor from the workers list as I think at that point he was only backstage. I can't remember seeing him on TV at that time. The Four Horsemen were more heelish in my mind as well, but were cheered because of the formation of nWo. Having said that, I would make Woman a heel and her gimmick as a seductress. Finally why does Bunkhouse Buck have an Armed Forces gimmick?

Anyways, I am working on some more of ECWA, and hope to give you some stuff soon. I just wanted to post some stuff on here to keep the thread from falling.

- Remove Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart from the WWF. Warrior was fired shorty before IYH 9 in July and Bret didn't resign with the WWF until October.

- I'd remove AJ Styles from the game, he hadn't even begun training yet.

Change Mike Chioda's age to 32. Birth Month: August

Replace a random referee with Rudy Charles. Age 18, Birth Month: November. (His first ref job was in July of 1996) (Possibly in the USWA)

William Boulware Jr. (Rocky King) was a referee at some point before he retired (possibly WCW), No age or birth month, but possibly use him instead of a random ref.

Add Fidel Sierra, Birth Month: July Age: 36

Add Horace Hogan, Birth Month: October Age: 31

Add relationship: Horace Hogan/Hulk Hogan (nephew/uncle) and Horace/Mike Awesome (cousins)

Change Kimona Wanalaya's age to 19 Born in November of 1976

Count Grog- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Count_Grog#Southern_Championship_Wrestling_.281994-1998.29

Add Matt Knowles (HC Loc) debuted in 1996- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Knowles

Alter Egos:

Ole Anderson: The Black Scorpion, Rock Rogowski

Fidel Sierra: The Assassin, The Boricua, The Cuban Assassin, David Patterson, David Sierra, The Destroyer, El Cubano, Top Gun, Fidel Barrio, Especialista II

Horace Hogan: Horace, Horace Boulder, The Predator, Hollywood Horace Hogan, Michael Bollea

I know it's not ECWA stuff, but when I get sidetracked I start searching stuff for hours.

Great job on the scenario, everything seems pretty accurate.

If I were to change one thing, I would move Chris Jericho's charisma down to about 80-82. He says in his book that he didn't get really good at cutting promos until he developed them in WCW.

I probably won't, not that it's a bad observation and objection, but the entire data of workers is under the premise of a worker's natural charismatic value and versatility in the long run. I think there are a few ways to look at it when dealing out a statistic like charisma, and I took one of them.

In an update, I lost everything I had on my hard drive (it fell off a table, and I unplugged it foolishly) So all I had is kaput. That said, I don't think I had much to add then what I had posted on here, but I might dive into it at some point when I get bored again. Likely not until next month at the least when college basketball dies down and the first couple weeks of MLB has begun. Not sure if I want to work on one specific fed, but I'll try to give some suggestions as I see fit. I think besides March 2001, that this scenario is one I would like to go to most often when I get tired of current stat games.
